Yamada is breaking too many hearts. He needs to be a little more friendly. It wouldn't hurt him to be more open and acknowledge other people's feelings.

loved it, especially the part with the ex coming back. i live for the drama, i hope the ex comes back at some point so he can have his feelings hurt lol

idk if anyone else is bothered by this, but it kind of weirds me out to know that this blossoming romance is between a 20 year old in college and a high school kid. i was pretty much able to ignore it to this point, but seeing Yamada at school getting ready for the festival in this episode just made it so glaring to me. did they ever say how old Yamada is? because a relationship between a 17 year old and a 20 year old is just too weird for me... a 20 year old is (presumably, at least in this scenario) in their second or even third year of college, whereas a 17 year old hasn't even left high school yet. it's not a deal breaker for me in this show, but it makes it hard to root for the main couple.

Are we really doing the oldest thing in the book of female targeted romance stories ... that the two mains met each other when they were little, and are literally destined to be together, lol.

Also, Yamada really is lucky that he's so hot looking, cuz if you did what you did to her hair as an ugly, antisocial, unruly gamer... you would end up in a prison :) But pretty people get a pass :)

:) :) :)

I definitely don't think that girl was Akane since the hair colour was so different, but also she's 2 years older than him, so they wouldn't have been in the same class at any point in their lives.

I've already watched this far so I guess I'll finish it since its not *too* bad... It has its cute moments thrown in between, and connected by random, pointless, almost cringe-worthy, shallow conversation for some supposed "character-building" and tension which just doesn't exist. There isn't really anything special about this but that is probably fine. There is not anything particularly wrong with being plain, so despite how stale it is I'll still pull through when I got the time.

Well, I think it's safe to say that Yamada is a total heartthrob, but he never stood a chance against Akane and he's only now starting to realize what he feels, let's hope the childhood friend doesn't fight Akane If you like him, or if you really only care about his career as a fps pro, don't try to keep him away from the guild so that he can keep up with the competition.
PS: Mr. Kamota seems to be the elderly neighbor who got up at 5am, swept the street, fed the pigeons, and then started tidying up his garden. The ultimate boss of relaxation for the consumer.

You know I really appreciate how they are actually putting in effort to build this couple up. I mean it makes sense, like just what 2-3 months ago ? Yamada and Akane had their very first encounter, it also seems like they don’t even keep in touch that much in real life cause the storyline tends to skip a lot of dates/times in between episodes like she goes nearly a whole month without seeing Yamada. Which obviously at this stage they are still just guild mates/friends and have other things going on in their lives. The attraction to one another is slow and gradual, considering that they don’t see each other that much, this detail is crucial and a nice touch. Pretty realistic. Anyways it’s a slow burn at this point and one that actually makes a lot of sense due to the set up. I’m really enjoy this romance cause it highlights pretty relatable situations. It’s not a straight bam, they made eye contact and fell inlove kinda romance story. It’s one where they gradually start being attracted to one another at a normal pace. Feels more natural ? Authentic ? If you get what I mean. Anyways this episode was really good, the way he was mesmerised by her after pulling her hair out was cuteness overload. Also love his straightforward answers and how he blocked/refused to let Akane ex in to see her

Did they really give Akane a whole external GPU? I understand how Eita could have an old gpu lying around, but definitely not an enclosure lol. Yamada also said that he switched out the CPU. I know some laptops that can do that, but those are always big and heavy.

Afaik Cpus tend to be soldered into MoBos so probably only thing that remained from old laptop was battery and fan.

They're really starting to show Yamada and his feelings. The first insight into him and his life outside of the guild are great too.

Oh... I love all the characters in the show so much. Yamada is catching feelings for Akane a little by little. Also, saw a few new faces in the show. Can't wait to see more of them.

Yeah we get it Yamada's super handsome, no need to shove it on our face every other minute with those forced "girls can't take their eyes off him" scenarios. It's getting fucking repetitive.

Also hey what's with that sob childhood story lol. "He's with me, so I don't have to worry"... "No, I don't think so that's the case" LMAOOO, atleast give some context.

I think its great to see Yamada develop as a character. I dont think it was necessary to add more high school characters, which will not be fleshed out and nobody actually cares about. The anime has a nicely rounded cast by having characters of different age groups. I think the anime elevates itself above these copy-paste romcoms that are all set in high school (for whatever reason) and thats why i enjoyed it thusfar.

The scene with Akane sleeping was perfect. Very well done. Yamada acting as cold as ever with everybody else is very cool as always. Love it. It's sad we don't get more Momo stuff, but oh well. The school festival arc is upcoming, which typically is very good, so I'm hyped for it. The last episodes of this season will surely be great. I have a feeling though that it will end without much happening, like 12 episodes is so little. And then like all the other romance anime we will have a long gruesome wait, or the 2nd season won't even appear. Let's hope it doesn't turn that way.

Generally speaking of the anime, it's perfect. I haven't been able to binge watch anime for some years, but this anime made me binge it like no other in last years. Let's hope this will make me regain my old abilities regarding anime watching. In the romance genre I think it also has to be one of the best ones, if it doesn't fuck up the next seasons. This one (this season) will be goated too, if it gives us some top last episodes. I surely didn't have had this much fun watching anime in quite some time. Let's just say, it feels good to be back.

More yamada perspective on this episode.

Seems he had a past experience with a girl in love but couldnt reciprocate with her properly, same he did with the poor convenience store girl. Man is not only unaware but also lacks delicacy.

Back to akanes apartment where both girls are fast asleep like cute little otters. Yamada starts to show a little awareness with akanes hair comment and unclips it unknowingly. The animation with how the hair fell down was just beautiful. chefs kiss.
Then yamada awkwardly meets with her ex outside the door, suprising ex does care about akane as a person and wants to check if shes doing okay, which was respectable and nice of him, Yamada responded kinda decent i suppose in return kinda possesive i felt?  Also the ex is a big yamada fan and kind of a stalker which was hillarious a little bit. What surprised me more was when akane came out and checked the lunch boxes and her reaction, that she laughed it off, showing she started to move on with her life and enjoying it which is nice to see.
Then comes more of a surprising and awkward part where yamada admits to akane about opening her hair but cant think of a reason why which puts akane in a confusion too.

Momos date strategy fails gain. Rip. Akane taking up jobs to repay eita for the spare parts he provided for but eita doesnt want it, on insisting eita makes her the sponsor for the guild event. Speaking of which first time seeing kamota sans avatar which was so tiny cute, wonder what his actual combat avatar looks like.
Back at school Yamada is getting coaxed to enter paegaent since hes popular and handsome amongs the girls. Now comes a new character and i think a factor in the future episodes, the glasses girl tsubaki, which kinda looks similar to the young girl in the beginning of the episode. Not only is she knowledgeable about games but also follows yamada, looks out for him as well. Feeling we are gonna have a dreaded triangle maybe? i dont like those tbh. Next episode we go

Also yamada explaining parts to the clueless akane was just comedy also saw part of kamota sans real avatar which is something really scary and gigantic xD

Takezo's game character was unexpected but also fitting him, kinda curious what his large appearance actually looks like. More importantly, seems like Yamada slowly falling in love without realising it yet.

@SquishyPies Yamada is 18, so by the half-your-age-plus-7 rule, it's all OK.
Anyway, the French president Macron and his wife are the living proof that there exists way larger age gap and "forbidden" romances.

@theprussian

i don't follow that "rule," i think it's important to understand how different developmental stages interact with each other. i don't think a 20 year old dating a 17 year old is like, a criminal or something, but i do think if i had a friend who was in their second or third year of college, i would be really weirded out by them going after a high schooler.

Macron and his wife are not comparable here imo. i feel like once you hit true adulthood, it doesn't really matter the age gap. my parents are 9 years apart, but they met when the younger of the two was in their mid-20's already. not as big a difference there as, you know, a budding professional trying to go on a date with a kid.

like i said, it's not a dealbreaker for me, i still really liked the show, it just gives me the ick.
