This is like survival of of the fittest. With recent events going on, no wonder he's more careful than ever when moving around.

I love the new relationship bond between Fushi and Hisame though, probably one of my favorites so far this season. Hisame in particular can be very charming to watch for her personality.

In this episode, you can see so-called SSR (Super Special Rare) shot of Fushi; a lazy fat gourmet version.

R.I.P Tonari. :( Now I'm really sad.

Very emotional first half with Fushi showing all those people to Tonari.

Chubby Fushi looked hilarious, haha.

Dunno what to think about this season yet, but let's see what happens next.

We all need friends like Tonari. Fumetsu no Anata is back at it again, tugging at my heartstrings, that is. The powerful first half would've made for a better ending last week. Imo they could've went with a special lenght episode for the season premiere.

I enjoyed the idyllic second half as well, tho. Fat Fushi, lol.

So we saw Tonari's death as well as Fushi meeting all of Hayase's descendants.

Then in the end we see Kahaku who is a man, so that creates some conflict cause he wants to have a child with Fushi, so he is kinda gay lol.

We also saw a bt of Bon in the preview there, can't wait to see the next arc animated, he is one of my favorite characters.

Does anyone else think the pacing is extremely fast? Like there could've been a lot of scenes in between to provide character acting and emphasis to the scenery, without that this show feels like something is lacking. iirc season 1 did this right, so the director change probably caused this

Why the hell was Fushi fat in this episode? LOL

Also is the manga this rushed? I mean we time skipped like 150 years into the future.

Doesnt seem like the world evolved too much though.

Decent episode overall

How glad was I seeing Tonari back after the timeskip, though only to watch her depart just an episode later. The template of this series is to mess with your emotions, and as usual they doing that.

Tonari lived a very hardcore life, slave to commander of an island, drank poison to get resistance, seen her friends die in a horrible way. Proceed to die in an very anti-climatic way.

Looks like the Hayase primary desire is alive.

Fushi need a little more evil in him, he could had used that opportunity to cut the Nokker off.

The Black Hood straight of said to Fushi go to town in both ways, as literally go and as a slang. Smart.

I think the fact that so many years pass with so little detail is pretty good because it implies that Fushi does not perceive time the same way that "normal" people do. He talks about being excited to meet the new iteration of Hayase as if the events were not 20 years apart. I agree it would be cool to have explored his relationships with the other Hayases in more depth but I think the way the show went about it makes sense.

World indeed seems to have stayed about the same but progress had been very slow for the vast majority of human history.

Oh wow Tonari really just die like that, after a good speech before. Hayase Nokker for the win always, and quite bringing a shame to be honestly. But at least Fushi acquired a body resist to guardian poison. Even though now the guardian becoming Fushi real guardian for the past several decade years behind. Fushi enjoying the life there. Don't care fly by fast around, forget about friend, Fushi enjoying the life there xd. But soon it'll come to be an interesting path again while he meet someone intriguing next episode. Not to mention those so-called Hayase descedant finally took a different path too after a straight five generation were all woman. Watch out Fushi you may learn something brand new ahead, and its kinda make a drastic change in the future too. So let's see if its benefitted my enjoyment as well...

Fushi got chubby lmaooooo. I'm fairly sure this is an anime-only addition.

This episode adapts from Chapters 58 - 61. After this, the manga will not be portraying any timeskips for a while. So folks who have been complaining about the pacing will have much less to worry about.

Also, in love with how a previous symbol reserved for criminals and their kin has been approiated for a new religious meaning. Reminds me of another religious symbol....โœ๏ธ

Fuck Hisama for killing Tonari only because she wanted to protect the fucking parasite in her arm. I'm not okay with at :/ But I can't even wish her bad stuff happen, because she's dead already.

So can we assume that Fushi still hasn't found out how sex works, despite several decades having passed? Lol, will be fun when he finds out and meets on of the descendants of Hisame's.

You're not alone - it almost feels as if the episode's playing on 1.5x speed. There's a weird lack of gaps between lines of dialogue, as if they're responding to each other far too quickly, and scenes seem to go by at a breakneck pace too. There's no time for anything to really breathe.

Oh no, Tonari :( That was fast.

Fushi, you sweet naive soul. Hayase's wish to have his child is kinda creepy, I'm glad that went nowhere so far. And now there's a man among descendants, maybe they'll be able to understand each other better and this endless passing of Hayase's will gets broken, because come on. Fushi can get used to it, but the whole thing is still creepy, not to mention there's still a parasite alive.

I feel like, Nokkers are pretty much useless as villains for the narrative. I was more interesting in that Hayase little girl plot, but the episode literally vanished her with Fushi being able to outlive 5 generations of Hayase kids lol / I wonder how many years have passed since the first little girl to the first boy.
I do appreciate the fact that the narrative is really abusing the "immortal" factor of Fushi, letting the TIME beat his opponents, BUT i do have to say, that is getting repetitive real fast. I hope they have something big going on in the next episodes, because if this keep going like that, Nokkers will not be able to hold my expectations.

People really mix up fast pace with quick fastforward of pointless and uneventful years. If they put any emphasis on each encounter with Hayase's crazy descendants, we would have been stuck in this for many episodes.

It is literally a "change of seasons" part to show how much time has passed while Fushi is still indecisive.

Fushi after 40 years is normal, but Tonari of Jananda after 40 years, she's a whole other being. And after a whole lifetime of injesting poison, having the Knockers attack her via Hisame is the last thing she'd expect to be the mark between life and death. But still, 40 years is a substantial amount of time when they were last separated, and it's a story to tell of his transcendent adventures up to the point until they both met.

The journey to find more friends/companions whilst avoiding Knockers, but Hisame's left arm has to go, and for now, is put on her. But Hisame's goal to have a child from Fushi, that's quite the lofty goal from someone leading the Guardians, only to be taken back while Fushi moves forward to another town, bearing in mind of how the Knockers work to keep innocent people away from harm.

That said, it's still concerning when Hayase's descendants attach all over Fushi, and leaving the Knockers for the Guardians always seemed to work the trick. But the 6th descendant being a boy by the name of Kahaku, this certainly marks the break of the descendents being female.

Certainly, life moves on fast.

So far, this season seems way more fast paced, and with Tonari's demise this episode, it just felt very half-baked, especially with how that all transpired. Then, years upon years went by, with five generations of the Hayase family coming and going. Not sure what this show is trying to develop so far, with all the time jumps. Makes the show very "insignificant" in terms of plot so far, if you catch my drift.

No way tonari went out in such an anticlimactic way? That was pretty boring for such a great character. The time jumps were also a bit jarring. I’m guessing we’re at least 300 years in the future by now. The pacing is so fast that it’s kinda hard to be attached to anyone or anything, I guess just like fushi

Wait, what about Rean? She just died off-screen at some point D: That beginning part sure hit hard.

We got quite a big time skip here. I wonder if author considered science progress with such a long span of story?
All those new mini-Hayases were fun. I'm a bit disappointed its a guy now. I guess it will be the end of line - otherwise they wouldn't make such a change and on top of it stop timeskip here.

first half of this episode with tonari dying was very sad. i was questioning why they didn't show her actual death on screen, but i guess it makes sense when i think about it. fushi wouldn't have had too much of a reaction because he didn't realize it was tonari. only after she died and he took on her form :((

omfg all the hayase descendants coming to visit fushi. idk why i was feeling that hayase somehow actually had fushi's child and that hisame was his grandchild. when hisame said she had something to tell fushi i got scared for a second lmfao. but then her telling fushi she wants to have his child was somehow scarier than my previous thoughts

I liked Fushi a lot on this one. His development and actions make so much sense. I think he'll soon realize how useful the guardians can be as an organisation and fighting force.
I'm also grateful they shifted the focus on the deaths. It's getting more about Fushi's growth and less of a cry bait. The author knows it will progressively get less impactful.

PS: I still think the inclusion of the nokkers was the worst decision for the story.

I don't like the pacing of this. I didn't read the manga but it feels as if the anime is blasting through the source material. They could've made multiple episodes based on the events of this episode alone. I swear, not even 5 seconds go by without some form of dialogue or exposition, doesn't give enough time to take a breather and process what just happened which cheapens the experience a bit.

Despite all that, Tonari's death made me sad. Was hoping she'd get more time with Fushi.

Man... this show is so fucking intriguing. Idk how but I love these experiences with Fushi even tho they are so emotional at times. I don't wanna be attached to any character yet I do somehow. I got emotional over Tonari because she was a cool girl. I wanted her to live but not everything goes by our will.

Looks like Fushi is traveling here and there and learning about things which is great. He also got fat at times. Hayase's descendants are still here which is such a weird but somehow good thing. I'm loving this season so far.

RIP Tonari. :'(

Goofy ahh pacing and timeskips.

On Tonari's death, emotional as it was, they could have kept her for another episode or two to make it hit harder. It seems too rushed. Next, I find it hard to believe that the surrounding civilization and technology went through very little change after several descendants of Hayase came and went. That's hundreds of years gone and all we got was shots of fat Fushi. Maybe I'm speaking too soon and we will see how much change really happened in the next episode, but I they should have took more time to flesh out the city and give visual cues signalling time passing by.

I enjoyed it nonetheless. Just hoping future episodes follow season 1's level of storytelling and pacing.
