----------------------------------------
"The girl in the picture" has met Fuutarou...her name is Rena. Quite a detraction from the Nakano quintuplets, and a lead item in exchange.

Back to Nino, and am quite glad that the relationship between both are repaired, though somewhat frenzy. Itsuki is still freeloading in Fuutarou's house...acting like a wife too soon?

Of course, Nino can't forget about Kintarou...to which Fuutarou continues to play the fake impression of her crush all the way through and using that persona to persuade the hapless sister. Pretty funny though if you ask me, rotating between the real and fake persons, but the plan failed to cusp Nino to his side.

As usual, Yotsuba is very active on the athletic front, and forget about Fuutarou trying to "train" her in studies.

This study plan is spiraling out of control...

You can't fool a quint with a disguise plan like that Fuutarou. Thou watching Nino and Kintarou's interactions were quite fun. Nino's reactions were amusing.

Pacing was okay in this episode but I hope they adapt the skipped chapters in between episode 1 and 2 which they most likely won't.

Rena was voiced by a Kyouka Yuuki, who isn't on MAL database yet.

Rena, the mysterious girl...things are getting more and more interesting.

BAKA, BAKA, BAKA, BAKA, BAKA. All 5 BAKA. Although Fuutarou is the only BAKA falling into water and trying to fool Nino..

Hmm leaving the athletic club for more studying?!

So the reason Nino was so angsty was because she has a complex with her sisters moving forward? Yeah that's one hella of shallow reason for doing what she did. Also what the hell she just drugged the MC again :/

That ending though with Miku appearing in front of Nino... cat fight soon?

its definitely a pseudonym being used to prevent ppl from looking at the credits to determine the identity of Rena.

The voice is definitely one of the 5 VAs. It definitely sounds like the character who manga readers know as the identity

That'd be spilling the beans. It makes sense they refrained in doing it.

Lol Futaro with long hair really would stand out. Meeting Rena again was that much of a shock it seems. Wow Futaro's description of the quints sure was blunt. If anything Rena's appearance was exactly like the wind being fast and sudden. In the short time she's been staying at Futaro's house Itsuki sure has become quite the housewife. While the parting with Rena was hard the event sure provided an excellent link for Futaro to try and bring her around. The Kintaro method though was hillarious but given how sharp Nino is doomed to fail. Running while recalling the answers sure is a innovative revision method. While Futaro's attempt to convince Nino to return is on hold looks like that front will have some unexpected help from Miku. Convincing Yotsuba looks to be a challenging quest as well. Overall an interesting ep whose focus on Nino served to expand her character pretty well.

My life flashed before my eyes when Ichiki said she will brush Yotsuba’s teeth. Lukily, it didn’t go in THAT direction.

Overall, I thought this was the best episode of the season so far. We got to learn more about where Nino is coming from and it set up a Yotsuba episode for next time.

You fail to understand Nino's character or what this episode was about as a whole. If you paid a little more attention to what she was saying, or better yet read the manga you would have a better understanding.

Nino very protective of her sisters and she sees Fuutarou as an outsider who doesn't belong in their group. She explained that there was a time that the five of them were exactly alike but as they got older and started to go in different directions she became scared of losing her sisters and being left behind. In other words, she's still stuck in the past.

The point I'm trying to make is that she didn't do these things purely out of malice and Fuutarou realized that the moment he saw that she had puts his tests back together and was using them despite tearing them up previously. It showed that she had accepted him as the quints tutor but was too proud to admit it. From there he decided to drop the whole thing because he didn't see the point and instead advised her to make up with her sisters, specifically Itsuki. You'll see later that Fuutarou is the reason why Nino is able to move on.

As for the second drugging... dude. The guy was deliberately deceiving Nino by pretending to be Kintarou, but she had realized long before that that he was lying. He brought that all on himself. Try deceiving someone like that and see how they react. Fuutarou was lucky. Any other girl would have likely beaten the crap out of him for trying to pull such a poor stunt like that.
"You talk too much. Think too much."
"I don't care how justified you think your reasons are. I won't tolerate liars or thieves."
"If you're not going to be nice to me, don't expect me to be nice to you."
"I'm a soldier, not a superhero. Don't ever think of me as one."
"The world doesn't revolve around you. Get that through your thick skull."
"People who live by their emotions go nowhere in their lives. They only find misery.
"If you don't like the way your life is than do something about it instead of sitting there feeling sorry for yourself."
"You want something go get it. Period."

Been wanting the deception to end for awhile, but as they were making some CREAM PUFFS I realized oh damn if futaro keeps this facade up maybe he'll get to learn more of the deep inner workings of nino's over the top tsundere character! And then dang out of nowhere she realizes the truth because I guess she's not as dumb as she seems. I'm glad that's over though, it was slightly painfully stupid.

Glad we got the talk with Rena in this episode instead. I forgot about him describing every single quint, but always finishing on "but she's stupid".

Ah yes, Fuutarou had it coming to be drugged again by trying to deceive Nino into believing he is Kintarou, eventho it's technically not a lie. Was nice to have more insight on Nino's character and honestly, this was the point in the Manga where she climbed that best girl ladder for me.

The way she acted here has nothing to do with Fuutarou not fitting in, but more with her complex with her sisters moving forward and her being stuck in the past though.

And? Doesn't change the fact that it was shallow. Literally none of this would have happened if she didn't tear the test papers in the first place since Fuutarou has nothing to do with her problem.

Deceiving how? HE IS KINTAROU! We know all 5 of the sisters were doing the same by deceiving others every now and then. Are you saying it's okay for Fuutarou to drug the quints every time they did try to deceive him?

What are you talking about? It has everything to do with the way she acted toward Fuutarou at that moment.

And? Doesn't change the fact that it was shallow. Literally none of this would have happened if she didn't tear the test papers in the first place since Fuutarou has nothing to do with her problem.

Yes, it does. It shows that Nino is a human being and that she isn't perfect. She's not a perfect waifu like Miku or a bundle of cuteness like Yotsuba. Her tearing up the papers was the result of all the months of frustration finally boiling over and it resulted in her getting into a fight with Itsuki and leaving the apartment to live on her own. She didn't just make a snap decision, it had been building up to that point. Fuutarou ended up, unintentionally, being the catalyst for it.

Deceiving how? HE IS KINTAROU! We know all 5 of the sisters were doing the same by deceiving others every now and then. Are you saying it's okay for Fuutarou to drug the quints every time they did try to deceive him?

Facepalm. Did you seriously forget that in the previous season Fuutarou told Nino Kintarou was his cousin? A lie he made up on the spot because he was too embarrassed about his past? And that she mistook him for Kintarou when they had that near death experience at the cliff because of the wig he was wearing and he didn't bother to correct her out of fear of how she would react?

He had an opportunity to come clean with Nino by telling the truth but instead he decided to keep up the lie and he ended up paying for it. Come on, man. The quints have their own reasons for playing those deceptive games with Fuutarou, intentional or not. He doesn't. Don't try to split hairs here.

Another episode in Nino's redemption arc adaptation, Nino and Fuutarou (as Kintarou) home date are there, making sweets, which is Nino's specialty, together! Nino couldn't help to be excited and need to get advice on what to do and ask our MC XD

Nino finally realized Fuutarou is Kintarou, and ofc she is quite upset with him, and want to be left alone now. Okay, I know some of you guys will cry about the drugging again, I dont support her for this at all, but, this will be the last time Nino acts this way to Fuutarou.

In any case, very glad to see excitedly cute Nino most of the episode, her redemption arc isn't done and I hope what will happen in the end can make some of you guys' hate to her turns into a deep love, just like me when I finish this arc in the manga.

idk maybe im the one that dont understand but u could at least tell me if her action throughout this ep is justified

There are two reasons.

First, Nino's character as a whole can be summed up in one word. Pride. Nino is a very prideful person. If you were to strip her down, take everything away from her, her pride would be the only thing she'd had left. At this point it's the only thing that's kept her going. The thing about prideful people is that it's very difficult for them to admit when they're wrong about something even when they're fully aware of it. It doesn't make them a bad person, it's just how they are. Nino is no exception. She knows what she did was wrong but her pride prevents her from admitting it.

As for the second reason...

Nino doesn't want to lose the bond between her sisters and is willing to do anything to prevent that from happening. The thought that she will be left behind one day scares her more than anything. The fact that her sisters started changing as they got older both frustrated and frightened her. Then Fuutarou, an outsider, arrives and it proves to be too much for her.

To answer your question on why she saved him from being fired, her initial hostility towards Fuutarou had already faded by that point and she was pretty much neutral when it came to him. I also believe that she realized Fuutarou was ready to accept defeat after giving it his best and that he wasn't making excuses on why they failed. Therefore, she was willing to give him a second chance. However, at this time she's also in conflict with herself in how she feels about him anf it eventually causes her to lose control of herself, but as we saw in this episode she instantly regretted it by keeping and repairing his test sheets after she tore them up.

If you want a better understanding of Nino's character and why she eventually falls in love with Fuutarou I recommend you read this. This guy does a better job explaining it than I can. Mind you, if you haven't read the manga it will contain heavy spoilers.

Well, the quintuplets had the same appearance as Rena when they were younger so the girl that Fuutarou met is probably one of them but I'm not sure who Rena is and why she looks exactly like them when they were younger.

More Nino is always good, she was super cute around Kintaro, though I'm curious how long she knew it was him. Even from back then.

I'm looking forward to seeing Ichika and Fuutarou stop the track team from constantly overworking Yotsuba, I really liked the scene between Yotsuba and Ichika.

Mind you, if you haven't read the manga it will contain heavy spoilers.

ok, but at lest when u read up till this ep u must be thinking okay u a bit too much now or a bit annoyed haha

Lots of things happened this episode. For one, Futaro met "the girl" who she claims her name is RENA. And it seems like Rena is severing the connection between her and him...although she blushed when Futaro is describing each of the quints. Well anyways, that's the reason how Futaro fell into the pond.

Also Futaro can't keep the facade for too long, as Nino figures it out that Kintaro was a fake. Too bad though, they could have progressed further if you know what I mean. And after the pacing went fast. It seems they're trying to get Yotsuba out of the track team so that she could not overdo herself more. And I guess they're facing the track team head-on next week.

Now in the BONUS tips, we have the fucking toothbrush scene between Ichika and Yotsuba. Now I haven't watched Nisemonogatari yet...but I see that picture...ALL THE DAMN TIME. So yeah the scene between our quints is pretty much my teaser for that scene. Also how the hell did Miku got to Nino?! (oh Nino in a plain tanktop is HOT)
