This is very impressive jelly shield, I like the idea a lot. The fight against the hounds was impressive too, Im glad this looks so good on screen, it was my colleague who made the greater part of the smoke fight, it looks very hard to do but it looks nice in the end. These changing shapes enemies are scary opponents...
The scene that felt the worst was when he deployed his mechanic arms, I was drinking coffee when drawing this and spilled it on my sheets I had to re-do everything I felt very ashamed of me, glad the result still looks awesome.

The season is very good from start, it has more dynamism and looks much nicer than the first one.
juste like in this scene.
Galopula arc is clearly the best so far, Im very proud to have taken part in its creation.

That little guy found out the enemy ran away and is searching for him.

The real goal, to destroy the machine that sounds like the central power of their world. 4 vs. 2.

Even those from high level participating in the battle.

Cute preview by main two revealed that they are still preparing for rank up, so they don't appear in not just main part but probably also this (not weekly according to this)?

Man. This series gives me so much fun and joy for some reason. I am so glad I started this series many years ago. The fighting choreography looks good and looks like black trion leaks instead of the usual yellow. What made them want to change it up?

The glowing cube trion leaks are something the anime did for censorship reasons. They changed to black smoke because that's what it looks like in the manga and they are using a more adult oriented timeslot.

I've noticed that when someone gets hit, the trion that comes out looks black vs light green like before. Is that a stylistic change? Is it something unique to this arc? Or is it something unique to the Neighbors that they are fighting?

That's how it looks in the manga. I assume it was covered completely in the first season with those green particles because of TV regulations since it aired in the evening. Now this season airs after midnight so they are able to show dismemberment in more detail.

This episode really showcases my biggest issue with World Trigger that also happened throughout the entire first season: the heroes are so freaking overpowered and are always on top of things. The villains are an absolute joke, they barely pose any threat. This leaves these action scenes so boring and without any tension at all. This is one of those rare anime that I'm constantly rooting for the villains to gain the upper hand so we can have more exciting moments. Such a shame :(

Jin's side effect was such a poorly conceived idea. I do hope it gets alot better. I love this anime's approach to tactial combat (at least it was the idea) and the entire Trion system but I can't stand how some characters (which are very unlikeable) are retartedly overpowered, basically masked by "strategy" or "side effect".

tf? Villains in this series are a lot stronger than the good guys; if we consider the first season there's not a single enemy that got defeated by one character alone except viza, and even in that case it was just because he didn't know about yuma's ability, otherwise he would have won easily, all the other villains required more than 3/4 people, enedora required basically the entire border; it's always like this, teamwork > skill; and in this Second series it's still early, but the enemies are still very strong (considering that in the 4 v 2 fight we have the best 4 attackers of border)

Imagine not having 5 minutes of recap at the beginning of a world trigger episode.
Why do trion body wounds now suddenly emit black mist... leaking out cube trion particles made a lot more sense in S1

I agree the first season the villains were much more threatening. Trufully its the B rank Wars thats the real highlight of this season. Its actually much better than the shitty classroom fights in my Hero

I'll admit I went a little overboard on talking about each individual character being overpowered and yes, singlehandedly they stand no chance against a villain. I'll reformulate to say that my problem are actually the fights themselves.

I feel extremely bored during most of the fights because there's no situation where the characters get their asses whooped and need to find a way out of it, either through skill or teamwork. They're most of the time fine and it's the villains who are usually smashed into a corner. There's no stakes, I don't see vulnerability coming from them, which makes me not care for them. The only character I love to see succeed (because he is actually flawed and vulnerable) is Osamu.

I get the point that they're border agents and they benefit heavily from teamwork, and yes, I get that the villains' have no intention on truly fighting the Border, but if that makes our characters so on top of their enemies, I think the fight scenes are a complete time waster (but well, that's just my opinion).

This episode was pure hype!!! Loved the action scenes which was 90% of the episode. My girl Konami's kicking ass. Keep at it and beat the shit outta him girl. Also I wonder if Tachikawa will really get cut in half or will he change the future.

Jin saw another future, most likely Youta got in trouble. I hope Jin running to save him doesn't heavily affect the battle.

i think you need to rewatch the invasion because this isnt true at all really. they were barely on top of their enemies. enedora defeated many squads before they were able to trap and defeat him. yuma was constantly losing to viza until he pulled off trick at the end.

this arc is more one sided but its serves a different purpose.

That hound fight scene is well driven with all of em moving around. And the arm trigger deployment looked good too. It had that crispy feel to it during the faceoff with the four attackers.
I think the reason this season is good is due to the arc plot of course and also the full use of the episode duration for the story progress rather than what last season did with every episode of previous recaps.
When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

I mean think about it, it's their home and they have their entire force on deck to fight off the invaders. And even with that, someone like Ranbanein from Aftokrator had a whole bunch of B ranks and 2 A rankers dancing around before they tricked him and got the win. Hell, Hyrien fucked up 3 A rankers and still left pretty much undamaged.
World Trigger is very meticulous with its character placement, the way each character fights and power levels, that is what makes the fights so fun, they are dynamic and each move makes complete sense and abides by the system the story crafted so far. Simple parts like Rata immediately finding out how Chameleon works compared to how long it took Osamu or even Kitora to realize is more than enough to show that they are nowhere near the levels of the invaders.

Ah how I've missed these action packed episodes of World Trigger. The last time I felt like this was when I binged all the first season with my brother. Reaching the end of an episode then was as simple as clicking on the next one and continuing the action. Now I have to wait a week to resume the action and story :p I'm really excited to see the upcoming episodes. I always love watching the "previews" of the next episodes as well.

This episode is better than the previous one. Like the previous one, this episode is action-packed but with more interaction with other characters. Pretty sure the future that Jin saw was not good for Hyuse and his sempai and that why instead joining the battle, he prefer to go to the Hyuse's location.

Tbh, I don't think you are wrong for wanting to root for Galopoula here. The establishing scene given portrayed them as being strong armed by Afto into fighting a war they don't want. Now they have to try and accomplish a mission that walks the line between pleasing Afto and not pissing off Border too much.

That's true. I also thought to be convincing enough for them to not be fighting at full strength since, like you said, they're trying not to piss off both sides. They just wanted to complete their goal, not go on an all-out war, but the Border was prepared beforehand thanks to Jin's side effect.

its not underrated at all, the first season showed what the story is and a lot of people weren't interested. The ideas and writing of this show are a bit too childish from conflict, resolution of conflicts, characters, character relationships etc. Its just painfully average and this shows even improving the animation quality doesnt save a show from dire mediocrity.

These Galopoula triggers are awesome. That controller trigger that controls the trion soldiers is kind of cool. Wonder if they didn't use it in wars, would it be the next best thing in gaming. Chibi Kuga and Osamu breaking the fourth wall.

They'll get their chance to shine in the Rank Wars soon. Looking forward to Osamu's new strategy. I kinda miss the "Trigger On!" and the narrator though.

I'm kind of disappointed they changed the color of the trion from that nice green to this weird black. So Konami is the 3rd attacker? They never told us that since they had special triggers.
I've just realized the 4 best attackers were chosen for the big battle and omg I love it. They all know their stuff so it's amazing to see them cooperate.
And again, that ending song is so sadddd!!!

Absolutely FIRE
#1 Border Agent and his trusty Autonomous Trion Soldier capybara Raijin-maru are still on the case to achieve their mission to watch over their Kohai, Hyuse!

What in the bloody hell is that trigger?! Konami obliterated some extremely strong Trion Soldiers and Konami also just deleted rabbits, to include the strong kind, but here... What is that thing made of?! (yes I know it's trion but still...)

We will yet again not get Mikumo-Squad for another episode, but this is fine as so much is going on.
5/5, the biggest mystery to me is... how will this work out for Hyuse.
