THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Heh cute, Yuliy actually spends some time with Ryouko this episode even if they were talking about family stuff. On the vampire side, I wonder what they're really planning. Menawhile, Yuliy learns more about his past. |

The fight with the little vampire girls was shorter then I expected. Good moment for Ryouko and Yuliy, seeing them talking about what is a father figure was kinda cute. On the other side, Mikhail still can't do anything against Yevgraf. Also that random soldier vampire... I wonder what was all that about. 4.5/5 Great episode, give me the ost. |

You've got a serious problem. She's a subtle character, who finally got some interesting development in this episode. Why do you hate her so much? She hasn't been in this show much to begin with, and she became a much better character during the train arc. And she hasn't taken away development from the plot, most of the show has been ALL about the vampires. Like are we even watching the same show??? Your hatred of her makes no sense. Ryouko has some creepy obsession with Yuliy. Also, Yuliy is dumb, it's obvious that is a trap. It makes no sense to go just with the other guy. |
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath. |

Interesting episode today, Yuliy knows some things about his father, is more, he sees the face of his father in a photo. Too bad that Yuliy did not kill one of the little vampires, the fight was very short. It seems incredible to me that Ryoko had reached Yuliy without even followed him. It seems that Yuily opens a little and has a chat with Ryoko about what it means to have a father. Mikhail has problems on his side, they are restricting his movements, besides it seems that there is some kind of epidemic among the vampires. At the end of the episode appears the annoing scientist who screams all the time, please let Yuliy kill him once and for all. |

That's why I dislike her, at least. I mean, she had one or two interactions with Yuliy and that's enough for her to leave her house and run half of the world to follow Yuliy? Ryouko's reasoning goes like this: "Oh yeah, let's leave everything I have behind and put my life at risk just to follow this guy I'm obsessed with". Excuse me, what the fuck? If the Japan arc had lasted longer and her character got some proper development along with her feelings for Yuliy then no one would hate or dislike her, but right now she's just a horribly written creepy stalker girl with an incomprehensible obsession with the MC that doesn't add anything to the story and takes screen time from the rest of the cast. It's fine if they want to give Yuliy a love interest, but they're doing it in a very shit way with and with a very shit character. |

She just knew that one of them would be there. |

I was expecting a longer fight between Yuliy and the vampire twins, but it was pretty nice while it lasted. =) Yevgraf seems to be too strong for Mikhail to defy. Seeing that guard turning into a vampire monster was pretty creepy though. I'm amused that Ryouko was able to encounter Yuily again, thanks to tagging along with the officer guy. Her talk with Yuliy about what a father is like was nice. It's a shame that she gets a lot of petty hate though. She's already proven that she's strong and useful and since she knows a lot about the vampires now, it's not like she's going to turn down a chance to help out the Jaegers at all. Give her a break. =/ Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next episode. =) |

She just knew that one of them would be there. Still doesn't change the fact that her reasonings are weak and that she's basically acting on impulse while not thinking at all about the consequences of her actions or anything else. While this time she might've not followed Yuliy directly, it doesn't change the fact that she already did so two times and it wouldn't surprise me if her ulterior motive for wanting to find the Jaegers was so that she could meet with Yuliy again. At the end of the day she just comes off as a badly written character that feels out of place in the story and that annoys some people who watch the show because we feel the screen time wasted on her would be better utilized on other characters or plot points. I mean, her whole development (if we can call that development) was so rushed that I find really hard to care about her or want to see more of her in the story. She got introduced as a secondary character that looked like wouldn't get much attention, then she falls in love with Yuliy because God knows why. In the next episodes she's following him aroud like a creepy stalker and then she gets dragged into the fight. Suddenly she's not a secondary character anymore and the writers wants us to think that she has a place in the story just because: a) she likes Yuliy; b) she knows how to fight; c) she wants to know more about the dangers of the world. That doesn't fucking work, period. Like I said previously, if the Japan arc had lasted longer and Ryouko had gotten proper development, no one would think she's a bad character. |

Kind of a shame because this story can absolutely conclude in 3 more episodes but I feel like they could've done more with it, including more character development for the others. Story too--there's a lot we can dig into, like conflicts between countries and what other factions of vampires are doing. All that setup just went to waste. Maybe second season? Doesn't seem likely, however... |

Why the hate on that girl? While we haven't been shown much, she can fight and hold her ground somewhat. She had a normal life, and then she found out about Vampires, Werewolves and such. She's on a journey to discover herself and the world. It's not like she's holding back the group by being a liability to the group. By the end of the anime, she might (or might not) become a full fledged Jaeger. We're witnessing the journey that will lead to her answer. |

Yuliy fight against sisters was too short, and he coould have killed one, maybe theres is a reason for her to survive! I dont know but i feel there is an chance of they turn against Yevgraf! Maybe im wrong! I dont care about hate for Ryouko! I like her, and i want her to get developed, she followed jaegers, but she found Yuliy, and of course she would stay with him, cause she already know what is vampires and werewolves, and she want to know more about yuliy, and Yuliy is the center of the happenings, she is on a journey! Yuliy and Ryouko's dialogue was really nice to see! Good and cute moment! Feel bad for Mikhail, he cant do nothing! And he got warned! And we could see that he really cares about Yuliy! |

Ugh, sometimes I forget how basic anime fans can be and it feels like I'm talking to a bunch of potatoes. Well, I rest my case. I already pointed out that I don't dislike her out of pure hatred, but because she's a poorly written character and I believe I gave a well thought response as to why I think that. I'm pretty sure other people have their reasons for disliking her as well. Just how people are free to like her, people are also free to dislike her, doesn't mean either side is right or wrong so I wish this discussion would end here so as to not derail discussions about the episodes themselves. So, in that note, this episode was just business as usual, nothing outstanding happened. And with only three episodes left I'm insterested to see if it will be enough to end things in a good note or if it will feel rushed. |

I really enjoyed the episode, Ryoko and all! I think she is a good character, and I'm sorry to the above post, but these conversations will only end if the Ryoko hate posts stop. In other words, I can have my own opinion of your opinion of this episode. Your opinion made little sense since she didn't even know she was going to see Yuliy. You want a stalker character - there are hundreds of creepier stalker anime characters out there. Ryoko looks positively disinterested to someone like out of your average shonen jump show. I digress. Looks like the vamps have a serious health issue that needs fixing. I do hate that Yuliy is basically headed for what has to be a trap, but we can finally have this thing out with his brother. Wondering how much help our local cowboy is going to be? |

Tbh the girl feels very out of place, kind of like adding salt and pepper to a dessert. But in no manner does it detract from the story a substantial amount. The plot progression is very solid with one thing building up to another. The questions at the beginning that we all had are slowly being addressed. Hopefully it continues in this trend, for if it does I truly believe it is deserving of at least 8 stars. TL;DR: Show is great even with the addition of the pointless forced romantic pairing, but in all honesty it would be even better if the time spent on that went towards something else. |

So Yuliy's father is alive, that was the shocker of this episode for me. The battle with those vampire girls left Yuliy in a different state, I hope he won't be remorseful like that again. I really love this show and hope it will contain the next season because 12 episodes won't be enough for me. |

Sorry for the rant xP I agree with you 100%. As a woman, I get seriously annoyed when I find characters like her in the shows I watch. Women which only purpose in life is going after a man that barely paid attention to them. That's not healthy and it upsets me even more that people actually believe that's the normal way a woman should behave. How can you find that shit cute? (Let's not even talk about the "she's in love with him so OF COURSE they are going to end up together" way of thinking many fans have). I liked your reasoning because you explained your dislike towards her based on her many obvious flaws and not something superficial. In my opinion, she's the most basic and empty character I've seen in my life (after Orihime, mind you) and it annoys me a lot that we couldn't get to know more about the other characters because they thought it would be interesting to add a one-sided love interest to a character that hasn't show ANY SINGLE INTEREST in her or in romance. this wasn't a shoujo, so why force something nobody asked for? |

The girl is getting more annoying each episode. Her lust-driven stalking has been completely overboard and sleazy. In her compulsiveness, she has no consideration for anyone except herself, showing up everywhere for no reason and having no real place in the plot, simply because the writers just wanted a quirky random girl to be around. She's presented as both the comic relief and potential love interest but she is so incredibly poorly written and unlikable. I sincerely hope that her future involves realizing her immaturity, joining the jaegers by her own abilities, traveling around the world for some years, then returning home to be the head of her house. No more terrible romance side plot. The vampire lollies are going to bust my eardrums. I'm tired of the psychotic maniacal little girl trope. The old man's confrontation had no pay off because turns out he knew next to nothing. How is the fact that Alexei not wanting the ark to be found a secret at all? If the old man was a rational person whose main goal was to keep the location hidden forever and die with the knowledge, he could have just said that he never found it, that he stayed because he failed and was embarrassed. But instead he reveals that he did find it, and the only thing he learned was that Alexei didn't want the ark to be found? No shit, that's why he hid it. Why did the episode stretch out this pointlessness for so long? When he finally breaks down and reveals the reason he stayed in the mountains, as if it was a profound tragedy, I was thoroughly unimpressed. He behaves unbelievably because he's an empty shell, there to put up a minor road block before forwarding the plot. This whole episode was just a string of annoying characters doing annoying things. Definitely the weakest one in the show so far. I mostly enjoyed the show up until now, but the flaws in the writing are coming through more and more. |

I liked the fight and who woulda thought that the old guy had such a connection with the father. Despite being on a mission he valued his friend's values towards the Arc and decided not to proceed it and isolating himself from the rest of the world, losing his posiiton, previous life and everything he used to have. That's not an easy thnig to do and to do that for friendship says something about him. Great guy... And to think that he would see father in Yuliy's eyes, goes to show how similar the two are... Next episode fight vs mad scientist, pls dont kill him :( |

I agree with the post above though, Ryouko is annoying and unlikeable because her character wasn't written really well and admit it or not, she's obviously a stalker lol. But I'm still not losing hope for her, I just really wish she could help the boys. So there's seem to be an epidemic going around the vampires? Geez man, I'm worried about Mikhail. The conversation between Yuliy and the old man is really good. |

9th episode was pretty decent. I finally accepted that the question about the Ark won't be answered until the end. It's not like the One Piece that nobody knows about. I expected to get at least a relative description of what it is because right now it is no different from the Holy Grail or Akashic Records mythical artifacts. Ryouko and Iba ending up in the same town as Yuri and the Ark seems like yet another coincidence. They just had to converge all 3 stories somehow. -.- Meanwhile the team of hunters is for whatever reason in the useless and destroyed Dogville village. |
