THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Coldfire, now the epicenter of the Imperial Army vs. anti-Imperialists. Captain Herman has no need for words, just conviction to prove his case otherwise...and Innumael at the very worst with his sister held being hostage. What a naive fool, and a Luminosis monster-converted Elfriede for a life-and-death "plot device". The captain's shrewd mind of "revenge and retribution" sure fits his demeanor enough, even to close kin. And now, he's gonna do the same to Innumael's sister, and thankfully with Leo's interception, a shrewd man down and the two meet once again. So Elfirede is part of the Holy Knights, and within Headkeeper (and even the Imperial Army) lies the "Among Us" feature of an internal traitor who's using the organization as a front and facade to commit crimes as a Diet member, that's harrowing. As if I'd know that both the Diet and Headkeeper were in cahoots from the beginning, should've picked up clues, but the "show don't tell" aspect sure took me for a ride. All of that is nonsense now, but one day they'd make sense. Conrad and Leo of the Imperial Army, and the rest of the remaining surviving Headkeeper members now together to fight for a common cause, that's honestly great! The ONE episode that FINALLY got things moving, and a good one at that. |

welp it was obvious from the start that military bad - rebels good, but I guess this cemented it when one of your MC's pretty much defects tbh Leo's story has definitely been the worst out of the 2 MC's thus far. Like apart from that threat at the very end, there's honestly little he's actually done to enact his revenge for his supposedly precious bro. Like up until now (and I honestly assume going forward as well) there's hardly been any actual intensity surrounding Leo's feelings, despite the emotion it tries to build up with regards to his bro Inumael on the other hand, at least it evidently shows how much he cares for his sister to the point where he was willing to "kill" himself albeit jumping down to a lower ledge (whether that was intentional or not is what it is) at least Count-psychopath is dead though, much earlier than I thought he was tbh (he seemed like he'd be the final villain). |

Another fantastic episode and two straight episodes with good production values? Please anime gods, bless this series, it deserves it. What can I say, this series continues to amaze and keep the plot progressing in a believable way that leaves me satisfied every week and looking forward to the next episode the moment the episode ends. Now, props to the two heroes of this week's episode, Conrad and Elfriede. Conrad has always been an interesting character, he definitely showed that he wasn't your stereotypical character from last episode but outright disobeying his superior's orders? Wow. It makes sense, he was convinced that the Imperial army was doing the right thing, but when he realized his promise to Inumaru from last episode that they wouldn't hurt his sister was about to be broken, he knew that something was fishy. A really great character turn and I loved it. Elfriede on the other hand, what a hero. She was determined to deliver the message that she had wanted to do so ever since she was revived by Arnolt and Ben before turning again. Followed them to the city and even defended them from the army before being killed by the same people she once called her allies. And literally wasting no time to tell the information she got, what a true spy. She suffered a lot this series..... And the death of Hermann. Wow, this was a shock. I won't lie, I can only think of two series that killed off their main villain so coldly and quick with no buildup to such great effect, yet it suits him somewhat. He lost pretty much his soldiers to Elf and them turning on him, he's not completely invincible obviously. I wonder if Coldfire can revive a dead person, we'll find out soon enough. Thought the whole prison scene with his dad was chilling, Tsuda convincing someone to commit suicide in an anime this year yet again, he must be stopped. And Leo's teamup with Inu is pretty damn great, Leo's angry handshake is so against the usual tropes, I love it - there is still room for conflict to develop between this two for sure. |

Okay. Conrad stayed in his positions to be the white knight for Inumael sister, i see. Then, Leo always coming late as a hero, to finally gave his commander a nice stab and slice. Good job? Meanwhile, Elfriede really didn't have a chance to survived with those transformation, and everything must come to the right way: the final order. Yeah, she finally told everything to everyone, and told them what to do next. But Where were Arn and Ben when everything solved pretty easily? Well, Leo finally join Inumael side for the sake of telling the truth to the Count was not so surprising. Even if himself still had a grudge and untrusted to the HK's band, its really understandable. Don't worry, its a right decision for you, Leocardio. So it will be fine! Honestly, Leo's role to help Inumael already predict when Herman orderred him to go a way. Well, their mission to go to the new capitol, its not an easy route. There were still so much troublesome everywhere. Even, they needed to get out first before actually reaching it. Still, i am glad seeing Schaake appearance again, by dodging her father possessive act, and together with Irma nice action on these episode. So, its clear that the traitor from HK still remained unknown. Okay, its fine, but the death of Herman somehow relieved my mind. Sorry Kenjirou, your character just too insane to be handled that need to put him down, for everyone own goods. Because , a plot made Herman forgetting his surrounding, telling his reason to be insane, judges the crime (with his definition) by another (dirty) crime, the death of him already been decided from the first sight of these episode. So, when the symbolization within the imperial soldiers (via Leo and Conrad) and the HK fighters already reach in one vision, its time to dismantling the rotten diet members schemes behind all of those chaos. I am waiting for another twist, and revelations. So, lets see the next! |

I assumed that the creation of a new capital was part of the empire elite's secret plan but the characters weren't surprised when they heard the dying Elfriede mention it so I guess the change of the capital is common knowledge among the citizens (but the activation of the furnace thingy obviously isn't). |

Having received a message from Elfriede, who has regained his sanity, he heads to the new city with the headkeepers and asks the Holy Knight Count Georg Esterhazy to visit him. Well... production is kinda better, close-ups on face expression looked absolutely gorgeous and character desings, even if not consistent at all, weren't as sloppy as in chapter 7. Some errors in continuity, but nothing atrocious. About the writing, surely there were some conveniences here: why does Leo not attack Innumael? Ok, understandable. But, why the fuck does he appear in the exact moment to kill the guy? Well... And why does Elfriede get conscious time enough to give them the message but not to explain it? And there it goes. Universe is still pretty interesting and I really like Innumael as MC, but I feel that my grade fell 1 or 2 points from what it could be. |

PV doesn't necessarily show what will be on the anime... It may be scenes from the original game with some animation just to make a beautiful trailer. |

Great episode, I really like Conrad now. It is very satisfying to see them all work together. Schaake is back, Irma and Schaake are best girls. Confirmed RIP Elfriede now though, at least she was able to give them the information about what she has found out in her spying. Hopefully, Leo eventually forgives Innumael eventually, he was just out there trying to survive. Really looking forward to the next episode, this is definitely one of my favorites this season. |

Persona111 said: yeah let's just wait, i already forgot about the PV, now when i see it again, its little bit different, background and angle from Elfride & Fritz met in ep 3&4, its more simple, it also look similar background when Shacke & Claus met in ep 1, so probably its preanimate probably not but of course this is not the story from the game just reduce in quality so we Will get Imannuel & Leocadio's fight but probably the animation won't as good as the PV, and probably its not preanimate but actual scene, Elfride & Fritz met is flashback and who is the smoking woman who watched them? Probably the traitor or spy, and we Will get good animation.savtruff said: Well... maybe. I'll wait to see it thenPersona111 said: Well... PV doesn't necessarily show what will be on the anime... I started viewing the show late, but it's the best this season. One of four that I am watching and could really recommend to people. (Along with Akudama Drive, Sleepy Princess, Talentless Nana.) Helman died! I was so surprised. I thought he would be with us for a long time, and in the end he'd turn out to do something that benefitted the good guys. For his own reasons, to spite the higher-ups. And then he'd die. Oh well, I guess this is a good death too. If he did die.... Won't say anything about how difficult it would be to run someone straight through with a sword. (Or how difficult it would be to cut off an axe in battle, which you see often.) If you don't go all the way through, it just doesn't look good in a show. I guess Elfriede was half monster in her head, since she didn't talk earlier - she could have called out to them. But when she was dying the monster side receded. Rest in peace. |

I was going to quote some parts of this, but the whole post is quotable. Damn right, Elfriede was a real trooper. She should get a heroine's burial. Also, her voice actress Yukiyo Fujii is pretty attractive. Both the handling of Helman and Leo's angry handshake there are realistic. There is a lot of good stuff about the characters here and there. This anime doesn't just run through the numbers. |

I was expecting stink eye, not a friendly face.. You're partially wrong. Yes, his motivation up to this point was catching him but his intent is very different from before; at the very beginning he wanted him dead and buried for what he had done but that changed after he was ordered to bring his sister to the capital, and that's because he learned about his brother's killer through Inumaru's sister and discovered that the poor bastard wasn't a bad guy and that him becoming a murdered was ultimately an accident so now he just wants him to atone for his sins (put him behind bars?). With that said, he still gave him the stink eye plus a bone breaking handshake in the first gif you posted |

Well.. I disagree. Pretty cool lots happened, finally the mortal enemies Leo & Inu meet but in a surprise cooperation, onto the new capital. Elfriede & Conrad both quite dutiful & reasonable despite her partly under monster influence. lol the whole reunion's Arnolt's messy plan but he's still in the bush. rip most interestingly deranged Herman. They foreshadowed horrible things for Sissel many episodes, but glad it ended safe. Still a continuing mystery what Diet & the lab are doing and what they plan for the old capital. |

"like i'm going to believe a member of headkeeper," he says. literally moments after killing his own deranged officer and standing over the body of one of those "monsters" he doesn't believe god damn that was stupid. and them just joining forces like that was stupid. it needed to be more hostile. they shook hands? no, baby, no did those two guys just sit in their vehicle outside the whole time? they never rejoined the group even after making it to the secret location i was so glad that commander dude was killed. i hated him. a true, deep, visceral hatred. he was evil |
