This episode mainly focused on the characters and romance and set the stage for future episodes. Next episode looks good. Hopefully they can defeat the Obsidian Lord (Reito) at the end instead of having to kill eachother.

It's quite obvious she is the one chasing Mai. No one else hates her that much.
That lesbian president is one strange woman.

The entire cast is at LEAST partially psychotic save maybe one or two people, none of the characters are acting like real people would. Which mainly why i feel so disconnected from the story... almost everyones a freaking nutcase. Reached moi limit unfortunately, so bored, gonna skip to the final episode and see how crappily they end this thing.

Holy crap, how has no one mentioned how absurd Haruka and Kikukawa were? Shizuru pleasantly appoints Haruka as president and then asks Kikukawa to watch out for her. And then she's told she's being cold and she cares about nothing but herself - the dialogue kind of gets incomprehensible.

Kikukawa throws some pretty harsh words (I'll blackmail you, also you were simply masquerading as a friend of Natsuki ... you're eww ..) - Shizuru calmly points out they were peeping on them, then she gets slapped and is told she's disgusting by Haruka. She doesn't react in anger, and then Haruka chastises her for her dull reaction to being slapped and told she only cares for herself (?), again.

Incomprehensible dialogue, a seemingly lame attempt at drama - am I, as the viewer, supposed be disgusted by Shizuru? It seems to me like those two were being dicks and coming up with anything to accuse Shizuru of. Sorry, I just found that whole thing kind of rage inducing.

I agree with Tonytheme that the whole Shizuru scene at the end didn't really work dramatically.

I'm interested to see what happens though if Shiho finally gets herself flamed by Mai though. Presumably, Tate is beloved to both of them? (Given that Takumi is already gone and Kugotsuchi is still fine).

Haruka and Yukino were plain annoying. Period.
Well, almost each and every character is at least a bit of a nutcase, psycho or/and disturbed. Srsly, that school is in a need of a good counselor.
That being said, the female characters are still much more likeable than the males. The latter I simply cannot stand, every one of them.

You don't get it. Haruka takes pride in her position, she loves it more than anything else. She is also views Shizuru as her rival and secretly admires her. To hear that she'd throw her whole presidency away is far beyond absurd. She believes that she's giving up responsibility for a position that Haruka, herself, covets. When all this craziness is happening, for you to just resign your position and responsibility to lead and encourage the people, it is most definitely being selfish.

How do you not even understand the second thing either? Shizuru is taking advantage of a weak Natsuki, even to the point of basic sexually abusie. This is supposed to be your friend and you're fulfilling all your desires on her without her consent. You must be a dude

Great explanation, I definitely agree. It's not that Yukino and Haruka were finding excuses to yell at Shizuru, they were enraged at Shizuru's actions as student council president. After finally opening up to Natsuki, Shizuru felt content, as was happy to simply be alone with her. Such an action during a time of total crisis at the school, let alone the world, and simply giving up your position as student council president is selfish and irresponsible.

And while Yukino was peeping, she wasn't doing it for personal pleasure. She wants to be helpful to others, and knowing where the other HiME are is important when they're out there fighting each other. The only reason she didn't go and criticize Shizuru herself was because she's generally not a confrontational person (although the two times she yelled this episode were because people were criticizing Haruka, the one person she really respects and looks up to).

Natsuki and Shizuru at their love nest, seems like Natsumi is also powerless to do anything.
Mai getting lone wolf. It is clear that mysterious Hime is Shiho, when she dreams! Tate can give his ass goodbye now, he is gonna "die" for sure.
All this time, with them disappearing, are they really dead?! Or just imprisionated in those pillar stones??

Reiko being an asshole and Mikoto reveals her true feathers, nothing more than a dumb girl, that cant disobey what her brother, Mai is too blame to, for having distanced herself from Mikoto.

Shizuru going for the kiss, and then later getting herself naked, and "sleeping" with a sleeping Natsuki. Those yuri vibes are strong, and Shizuru just let her twisted love consume her!
What a crazy ending too.

Can we just discuss how the anime heavily implies Shizuru sexually assaulted Natsuki in her sleep?

The girl already had enough trauma. Now the last person she trusted did something like that to her.

Speaking of yuri. I am not a fan of how opposed to it this anime seems to be. And that despite baiting it nearly every episode.

I'm not rooting for her and enjoyed how little time was spent on her this time, but Mai is obliviously gonna win and re-shape / alter the world. Because honestly, that is the only way they can end this anime without it being a complete tragedy.

Well, I knew Shizuru was down bad… didn’t know it was to this level lol, and if it wasn’t bad already, she’s now drawing a weapon not just on Yukino, but also Haruka, so we not only have this fight going down next episode but several others as well, it should be another wild one. Also lol at Haruka, she’s great and I love her but what she said about being with another woman wouldn’t fly today lol, it could have just been an in the heat of the moment thing tho, I thought it was funny even.
