One of my favorite things about this series, is that it's full of unreliable narrators who have their own versions of events based on their view of the world.

We don't know if Michiru is actually human or beastman. She says that she's human, but is she? Could it be that her parents forced her into a permanent human form before her memories began, and her parents hid it from her? Could she just be speaking out of internalized phobia because society is clearly so blatantly prejudiced against beastmen? Is the doctor right, and you're either a human or a beastman with no in-between? Is Gran Grandma speaking out of legitimate thought that Michiru is a human because of her ethics, or is she speaking in resentment? How does the clash between Oogami's morals and Michiru's morals fit into all of this?

This is a plot that openly invites speculation, individual interpretation, and has this wonderful spontaneous energy because of these individual interpretations given to us by unreliable narrators. I want to see what the show is trying to say about beastmen, what parallels it draws to real ostracized groups and prejudice in the real world, I'm SO invested in Michiru's character arc, and even beyond that it's just a beautifully-animated story with great characters.

Still highest rating from me, this is the show I look forward to seeing the conclusion of the most this season! Every moment spent in this world is fascinating, emotional, and beautiful to look at.

goddamn she is annoying. human form of Shirou is sick tho. this episode was a bit too cliché imo and didnt really contribute much on the topics it wanted to point on. world building so far is good paced and the anime gives us hints here and there.

Mugiwara D. Tanuki, I'm totally buying into that, I'm loving each seconds of it, this is clearly the furry mafia zootopia sequel of Little Witch Academia, Yoh Yoshinari's spirit is almost palpable.

I declare Oogami Shirou as the new CEO of Based Department, he's the best "bad cop" archetype I've seen, punching the shit out of mafia women like they were big threats also he's most handsome man this season (Daisuke btfo)

I'll understand Michiru, she was living a peaceful life as human but got chased down and almost killed, then captured and almost sold in the span of 2 days, I'll be losing my shit too. Too bad we haven't seen much of her human life it would make us feel better how much her life changed and why she's so mad about not admitting she's not human anymore.

A hilarious episode. It felt like a slower paced episode, but it was ok, looking for her wallet, Michiru ended teaching kids and between yakuza’s debts, but she managed to stretch her arms like wtf, surely she has strange and unknown abilities, even for beastmen. I didn’t understood Michiru’s huff in the end, it was clear that she was scared (despite it wasn’t noted during her escape), but yelling at Shirou for not saving her before, he clearly stated that it needed to be on the right time, but whatever, Michiru shouldn’t have been there too. I was also surprised by beastmen not being beast in their daily life, things aren’t as expected in this city.

Looks like Anima City isn't the paradise that Michiru was hoping it would be. The residents of the city can change back into their human forms as normal, which is something that Michiru wasn't expecting.

Then, when it came to getting her wallet back, she went into the rough part of town and agreed to teach the orphaned kids how to read and write. However, the kids were going to be shipped out thanks to the pressure of a mob gangs of scumbags.

Micihru did her best to save the kids in this scene, but in the end, Shirou came to her rescue and beat the crap out of the female group, and showing no mercy on them despite them being the opposite gender, too. Michiru's angry rant at Shirou at the end was pretty understandable, after what she's been through in these two episodes already, although Shirou did make the right choice here.

Either way, the themes that this episode teased at will make the next set of episodes very interesting. Law of the fittest, racism towards beastmen and beastwomen and more. Themes like these can be a little touchy for some people here, but if the shows deals with these themes well without making it feel forced or preachy, then it'll make for a more compelling show as a whole.

Good episode overall. =)

Are female beastmen (or beastwomen) treated like whores or prostitutes? Is that what Gran Grandma meant by that?

Also, I wonder what happened to Michiru. It seems like her power is not common amongst beast people. She was kind of annoying in the last episode but she is cute in both human and beastgirl form.

Michiru feels basically like a slightly less upbeat slightly less cool and slightly less pretty expy of Akko which isn't bad but caps my excitement a bit.

Yeah.... this is the first time I'm annoyed by an MC's personality. She got tricked by the Yakuza but guilt trips Oogami for not coming in sooner.

Michiru was much more endearing this episode.
She's just as naive as episode 1, but whereas I was annoyed she was defending literal terrorists last episode, her gullibility this time was due to sympathy for kids, and I find no fault with that.

Yeah that's when it bugged me when she was telling him to stop beating the terrorists. And I agree... I felt bad for the kids too (they were cute) but the female Yakuzas wouldn't have been arrested if Oogami hadn't helped and still yelled at him without knowing how the beastmen world works.

Looks like they added superpower stuff to the furry stuff for some reason. I do not know why the old hag and her gang also captured Michiru to sell her along with the children to slavery but well. She pisses me off at the end of the first episode but now its worse.

I would've loved to see the fat women getting wrecked too.

Michiru released her inner Luffy in this episode, looking forward to see more of her past as a human.

Well Michiru now realise how shit Animacity when she was there. When she was kinda like between human and beastmen form material, its interesting how she resolve that problem. Especially why she change? What happen to the city itself? And else. I guess the gray wolf somehow had a same attribute like Michiru, since they both had a unique ability. Idk. Maybe next episode will reveal more interesting story parts of the New Brand World of Animal.

The episode showed the dark sides of Anima City: gangsters and trafficking. Scary world not different from regular humans.

Though Shirou ultimately saved them, I was proud of Michiru's efforts.

Michiru appears to have special powers, including the ability to stretch her arms really far. Shirou arrived just in time to save her and the kids, and Michiru even got her wallet back, and now Shirou knows that she wasn't lying about being human.

yeah gonna drop this one. Annoying main lead and feminism. Not even triggers rep can save this one.

Yeah she's annoying imo too,but drop because of that,it's a very dumb thing
There's a thing called "Character Development"

I feel we put these weird standards on what people are allowed to drop for? Anime is a hobby and if people aren't feeling something, they shouldn't feel obligated to finish it. People can drop for any reason they want, although personally I am a bit curious as to what Tsuna123 thought was "too much feminism" for their liking, especially coming from TRIGGER whose first breakout hit is commonly lauded as a feminist deconstruction of tropes anime uses to objectify women. Seems like TRIGGER's rep matches up to more feminist content perfectly.

Now THIS episode hooked me in. The first, while flashy, did the whole "be crazy and answer questions later" thing that TRIGGER is becoming so known for that it's actually turned a bit stale, but this episode answered a lot of those questions and introduced an interesting conflict.

This anime is a gem.
The personality of the protagonist is what stands out most in the anime, we are shown her reflection on what is happening to her and to society, basically all this and more is what shapes the value of the anime, obviously very apart from Michiru being a teenager with ears, tail, and animal features (basically she has features that every otaku loves).
Sometimes otakus are rejected by society, so I discovered that it is much better to be an
otaku in secret.

This is getting better and better. Turns out that the beastmen are not these innocent beings we thought in episode 1. They have their issues too. They can be violent and aggressive and difficult to deal with.

From beating up bombers to teaching little kidsto almost being sold as slave.... what a career change in less than a day!
We got to see a pretty dark side of the beastmen world, not so much a paradise as Michiru initially assumed. I don't really got annoyed by her since she is still pretty young, naive and above all new to the whole beast thing
So every 'normal' beastmen can change form from animal to human mode, well at least Michiru got Tanuki transformation power.

Another Interesting episode.
I thought they were good women at first but they were traffickers. Damn...

Michiru really is a kind person as she did everything to save those children without relying on anyone else.

Shirou is cold but seems that he'll do anything for beastmen!

Michiru finally got her ID and damn she really is a humar or rather was...

I can mostly live with Michiru being pretty dumb and hotheaded but that rant at the end fucking irked me.

Somehow Shirou prioritizing saving women and children beastmen fucking corresponds to Michiru sperging about "what makes men so special?"

Huh?! Gimme a fucking break

So, Michiru wasn't BSing when she said she's was human initially. Must be interesting to see how this plays out. Also, this episode was kinda dark considering it featured human beastman trafficking. And apparently Shirou is a social worker. Kinda pog. Michiru's powers seem pretty wacky.

The sexism in this episode was a little too strong for me. I prefer unrealistic muscle women who rip buildings apart with their own hands over women who roll over and accept that things are bad because they are girls. At least mc fought back but it was only because she sees herself as better than the beastmen because she is "human." I wish she would turn into a full-fledged speciesist and our mc would become the bad guy that they have to defeat in order for beasts to prove they are equals but they wouldn't come up with something crazy like that.

I get sad when she yells at the old guy. He's too sexy (human form) to have to put up with her .

Michiru has officially faced the harsh reality of Anima City. Survival of the Fittest, the Strongest survive. Oof, I didn't think she realize that fact because beastmen were selling children, jeez. I genuinely thought Grand Mother was a good person wanting to teach the children to read and write, but nope. She just wanted to sell the children for more money...

This anime was made by garbage pedophiles that want to have an old dog f*** a little girl the garbage comic show how pedophilic they are wanting to put a little girl with a thousand-year-old dog it does not matter if she turned 18 she is still a child and she was only 18 for around 2 weeks until the end of this garbage and I'm here the people that support this and try to defend it or clearly discussing a stupid it does not matter if the dog looks young you should not f*** a little girl because she grows up he is still an old man and that's not going to change just because he looks young this garbage anime sends a horrible message calling a 40-year-old man creepy for hitting on an 18 year old girl is disgusting but claiming to put a thousand year old man what a little 18 year old girl and climbing it's okay because he looks young is disgusting pathetic and pedophilic only pedophiles would support this there's nothing okay by putting a thousand-year-old dog waiting to f*** a little girl and fall in love with a child or he is too damn old and she had called him an old man on multiple occasions and they try to backtrack in that garbage Comics by giving the garbage dumbass excuse because he is angry that is so beyond pathetic this was made by garbage pedophiles that deserve to burn in hell
