| Great start for the second part of the anime series: the relationship between Chise and Elias progresses and has a new leap in quality, and the narration manages to amalgamate other stories too without distorting the nature of the anime: calm, reflective, fun and full of mystery and charm. The ending puts a lot of expectations in the next episode, yay! I don't like the new opening and the new ending at all. |

| Good episode, and I was happy to see Chise and Elias actually have a proper conversation of sorts as Chise tells Elias about her stories back when she travelled to craft her wand, and how she even heard about stories of Elias' past. While Elias was nervous and skeptical about how Chise felt after hearing those, thinking she would be frightened by him on the inside (hell, even wanting to erase her memories of that), she hugged him before he got to mess with her memories and told her that she still wasn't scared of him and on the inside, grew a bit more affectionate and caring for him in the process. Also nice seeing her act like a human teacher of sorts to Elias, who is an absolute rookie when it comes to processing human emotions as a whole and wants to learn slowly more about them. The ending with her being turn to that fox by Elias' old time acquaintance, Ashen Eye, was something else. Quite the gift right there. Now that I got the positivity out of the way, I'm gonna have a very short rant here too. The new OP is horrendously bad, and one of the worst openings I've come across. The first OP had a little montage of the show but at least most of it is its own thing, and I loved the simplicity of being dark for the most part given Chise's mindset and background but once she met Elias, magic starts to spark like fireworks everywhere and color is brought to her world in a sense. Plus, the JUNNA song was fantastic to no surprise. But this opening song by May'n (no disrespect to her as a person by any means) was terrible, and really confirmed to me that I just can't enjoy her music whatsoever (plus it didn't fit the theme of the show at all), and the visuals were completely montages now instead of having any real effort putting some vision into it by WIT Studio. Laziest thing I've ever seen them do. What a shitshow this OP was, and it's so bad that I'm just now replaying the old OP everytime I'm about to start a new episode as I pretend that's just the OP for the entire show. ED wasn't as class as the original one but that at least was listenable for sure. |

| Dude she really went in and asked if she'd be tasty or not( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Like I said last time Nakata Jouji's voice means trouble, and the result.. Chise's a fox now!!! Also there were scenes from those OVA's means we did catch up there too, so a good thing. New opening genuinely is a big let down given the kind of first one we had. ED's decent. |

| Chise is already a great mage. She can pull that relatively long wand out of thin air. Neat party trick indeed. And as always, the Mahoutsukai intrigue perfusion keeps dripping, one mystery drop after another, while also leaving the previous ones not fully concluded. |
