| I clicked on this song without realizing what it was the theme for, and I really want to see this movie too. Anyway, considering the film, of course it looks gorgeous, you'd be hard pressed to find anything that looks as pretty as this. But that's not to the music video credit, since it's just taking the from the movie. What matters is if they use the scenes to match to the music, and they thankfully do sync up. The lead in to the first chorus going up to the stars is brilliant, best moment of the video there. There's a few other good moments like at 3:16-3:18, where it cuts to the girl when the vocals kick in or at 3:10 how she closes her fist in sync with the drum(?) hit. Or at 1:40 how the beat matches with the lightning and at 1:50 how it's timed with them diving in the water. The segment from 1:17 until about 1:40 every piano key is accompanied with a scene transition of sorts (in the later half, it's technically the same scenes, but different animation cuts each time). If you're going the AMV style, this is how you do it. I'm actually not all that crazy about the song, but it's not bad. 7/10 overall. |
| Dude, that was so good! I got goosebumps just from the visuals! Kenshi Yonezu's songs are always amazing, and the MV's are godly. Wow. |

| Spectacular, maybe better than the movie itself. I can't say I like the song or the singing style very much, but it sure is distinct. Strange mix of soaring vocals, dubstep drops, triumphant brass and winds, bowing strings. I think about this MV sometimes, when I see beautifully animated ocean scenery or starry skies. |
