that answers my doubt why didn't they used emotional music during that bait cliffhanger on the last episode. Should have handled better since don't think many people will happy with that as it looked way serious imo.

Anyway I didn't found this episode that interesting compare to the last episode. Decent buildup for this arc.

Weakest episode yet, especially after the previous one. World domination cliche is just so boring, and the character developement which is on of the strengths of this season was virtually nonexistent. Apart from that animation was of decent quality - comparing to typical mobian "wowowo" quality it was also disappointing.

The people complaining about the fake bodies and Mob not going psycho kill everyone mode are missing the point of the series. Sure it would be an interesting twist but that's not what Mob is about.

Anyway, 100% Obsession Mob was badass and scary at the same time, thank Reigen for diffusing the situation. Also Ultimate 5 introduction and they seem quite powerful. Things are really picking up now!

HIT THE NAIL RIGHT ON THE HEAD!!! i completely agree with you!! mp100 was really never about edgy and dark aspects (ofc it does explore internal conflicts e.g mogami arc) but moreso on character development, interaction, and self reflection all interlaced w/ comedy and heart-warming themes

kind of bothered me that some people are dunking on mp100 after this weeks ep finding out mobs parents are actually alive or not following through with the ???% cliffhanger from last week. not everything has to be cruel and edgy to be really good? mp100 s1 should have gave more than enough info that his parents werent killed in cold blood. as for the cliffhanger, it didnt bother me at all (since i already went in w/ the assumption his parents were alive) and seeing mob at least being able to control his emotions and powers are a great callback to s1 development. this episode was actually quite fun seeing characters from s1 again

Meh episode after that cliffhanger. Underwhelming outcome tbh, Mob is OP as ever but relieved when Reigen tell him that his family is safe. The 5 claw's objective is world domination. Overall its disappointing episode.

What a cheap bait and swift cliffhanger with the dummies. It would have been more interesting if Mob’s parents died.

It could have set the tone of this arc by upping the stakes and led to some good character development. Poor writing

I read on Twitter that this episode was the weakest of the season. Kind of right. Definitely a transitional episode. Felt very odd. Fast paced but enjoyable and but with too many character introductions.

After last episode, I was kinda expecting that Mob's parents were still alive. I would have loved to see him explode, however it's good that Dimple managed to prevent that. I love his 100% form a lot, the way he talks and looks. A total bad-ass! Also the animation was really good again. Really liked the Hanazawa battle at the end.

Yeah, I just can't wrap my mind around the fact that people are so disappointed with the expected outcome, given everything Mob has been up to this point. Especially since I'm sure those same people were praising the previous episodes which featured all of the aspects you mentioned.

Like you I wasn't bothered by the cliffhanger and I really enjoyed this episode.

100% Obsession Mob was pretty scary. If it wasn't for Dimple's words back at the burning home, then Mob would've stayed in his ???% mode and that would most definitely have some serious consequences on both sides.

Even though Dimple and Reigen weren't fully sure that Mob's family was still alive, the scene involving Ritsu talking about his parents heading off to the hot springs confirmed that they're alive and well.

Claw has now made their move and the Ultimate 5 are showing just what they're made of. Not only did they diffuse a potential coup e'tat, but Shimizaki made easy work of Teru, which was a bit worrying for the resistance group of former Claw members.

Either way, I really liked this episode and I was thankful that Mob's parents and Ritsu are alive and well. I can understand why other users here are disappointed about them being alive and not dead, but I think they're too hasty with their judgement to complain about this and completely miss the broader picture of this show in general. Sad, really...

Except that scene at the end of last episode had plot relevance and wasn't there just for the shock value and to blue-ball viewers, it had to look real to Mob for this to work. And it was obvious from the start to anyone who's familiar with any of ONE's works, so why would anyone be disappointed NOW of all times after finding out they weren't actually dead, unless they wanted to see it happen? This isn't Berserk, the people who were expecting a "rage sequence after losing a loved one" should look somewhere else, and that trope is so common nowadays that I'd argue MP100 doing the opposite is, ironically, subverting expectations.

Imo it was a shame what Mob Psycho did to us.
I mean, I expected more than a cheap trick from this series.
Giving us a giant plot twist killing Mob's family, forcing us to wait one week and then saying "nah fam it was a joke everyone's ok and Mob is no longer out of control" is fucking low, dude.

Perhaps you missed the part where the Series is listed under “Drama, Action, COMEDY”?
Guess what? FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is tagged as comedy too! The Sinichiro Watanabe's shows too, such as Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop. They can have comedy while having a mature plot or, at least, taking themselves seriously sometimes.

The real question is what will Mob's brother do if he finds out about the fire?? Like he agreed to help overthrow claw but with the expectation that his family would be alright. Would he still trust and go along with someone who did that to his brother. And to him, hell, where the fuck is his family gonna live when things settle down again????

Damn, that was an episode.

Thank goodness Mob's family is alive and doing well. Really good quick thinking by Dimple to stop Mob from going full rampage.

Also, badass angry Mob is badass. Holy shit he was insanely cool when he was taking down people one by one to find more information.

I love how once Reigen managed to calm Mob down, he just fell asleep. :)

Claw have announced their desire to rule the world, surprise? XDD
Interesting that the yellow haired kid's dad is the leader of Claw.

It was an awful trick that the yellow haired kid played in an attempt to get Mob involved. Who knows what would have happened if Dimple wasn't there to stop the rampage.

Great episode. Not as good as the masterpieces we had this season, but still great. Honestly, the events of this episode and probably the next one are the weakest part of the series for me, but after that it will go back to being amazing, specially the final fight of the arc.

episodes like these are disappointing, the only thing they have shown is one of the great evils of the shonen now where they do not kill anyone, not the worst is that they created artificial tension just to have an exciting cliffhanger, few stories now have the courage of leaving important people dead

Oh yeah this is when Mob really shines, first half of the show is storylines that are half monster of the week/half connected story, but then the second half is one long arc leading up to big battles so these upcoming episodes are about to be wiiiiiild

This season is a trainwreck and i can't believe people are praising it. The first 7 episodes were filler garbage with brainless gags and a sprinkle of character building here and there. Ep 8 ended on a high note just to have the cliffhanger ruined 20 seconds later in the trailer.
Here we have a rushed ass episode, characters joking while we were still wondering if mob's family was alive, an enemy organization which has the most laughable motive, new characters with no charisma.
A long shot from the originality and the pacing of season 1, i wonder if they are still following the source material because they clearly have no idea what they're doing.
What has this series come to.

People need to understand that situations need to have resolutions consistent with the type of series, even if someone believed that the parents were dead? Did they even think it would become a Dark Revenge series or something? mob was never this and will never be, and unnecessary and too much for the type of this series

I think that you have no idea what you're talking about ... but I just observe the fact that you said that the first 7 episodes is "garbage" but pointed out that "episode 8 ended on a high note" like a brat "edgelord of darkness" "only cool if have death"
LOL
it seems like you still do not understand that mob is above all, a story about adolescence, maturation and power responsibilities and not about an "edgelord kid seeking revenge for the parents death! OMG so dark! I'm so mature!"

Man, based on how the last episode ended, I was already expecting Mob to blow up the entire neighborhood so I'm glad Dimple was able to calm him. Not to mention that I'm also glad his parents and Ritsu are ok although I already had a feeling that those "bodies" were fake ones, being honest.

On a side note, I'm really glad Teru had more presence in this episode. Honestly, I was missing him a lot since the season started.

All in all, another nice episode. Those Top 5 espers from "Claw" seem to be very interesting and powerful characters. I'm looking forward to seeing some nice fights in the next episode.

This is not a spoiler:

maybe it's cause he's a good guy? I mean, world domination is a pretty childish and immature thing. every time you see it in cartoons/anime (like yagami light saying: "i'm gonna be the god of the new world!") don't you just think "lol r u been serious?" i'd be super embarrassed if my dad goes on tv that's broadcasting to the ENTIRE COUNTRY and announce his crazy plan. that second hand embarrassment would be too much.

not to mention world domination is an evil thing. and the son of a bad guy doesn't necessarily have to be a bad kid. so maybe that kid is a good guy that's why he wants to take down his dad.

People don't seem to understand writting.

Listen kids, when you're going to kill a character that is in any way relevant to the plot you first need to do some "preparation" for the moment. Some foreshadowing, some death flags, a entire episode focused on the soon to be dead characters, heck a entire arc even.

That none of it was done before Mob's parents apparent death was already proof enough that they weren't indeed dead.
You are not your body, you are your brain, the "self" that emerges from within it.

3 different characters explain their powers unprompted. for how good the art is, the scripts are frustratingly amateur, and i mean legitimately amateur, as if written by a college student in a scriptwriting 101 class. every character has to explain every little detail that doesn't matter, like how hanazawa tells the guy from claw how he ended up sensing him in the park. there's so much dumb shit that the audience doesn't really need to know that is spoonfed to them for no real reason, sometimes to the point of actually hurting the show. the uneasiness surrounding the veracity of dimple's attempt to calm mob down would have actually been materialized if they didn't spell it out for the audience by having reigen ask dimple if he was lying or not. they didn't need to do this, especially since 5 minutes later it's confirmed his family is unharmed anyway. this is just redundant, useless writing and it's actively bad.

LUL its funny that i see this kinda comment on s2 of this show! mate its a PG-13 action(shounen) comedy, explaining their power is a part of genre, luffy doesn't need to say "gomogomo no jet pistol" every time but he does!
as for dimple part! story writing is totally fine dimple and reigen don't know about the parents its necessary for their character to talk about that :|

If you can't see how poorly the cliffhanger and the reveal was handled then good for you. Blissful ignorance.
Keep having fun looking at empty characters making faces and voices.
I realized where this series is going when i realized a Reigen episode was my favourite so far. And I hate Reigen.
I mean, look at how Koyama was introduced in season 1, slowly building through multiple episodes. We got to see more of him than the ultimate 5 combined and there's just 4 episodes left.
But hey, we got the urban legends episode, that was fun right?
Good for you, for real.
