Loving it so far <3 This episode was full of unexpected things.
So, Roy Mustang wants to become the Furher and take control of the military... I didn't expect him to have such a goal. Then I was also surprised by the research data: the Philosopher's Stone is made out of living humans? Well, it does make sense. From what we've seen so far, human life seems to be ranked pretty high in terms of the "equivalent exchange", which explains how the stone is able to boost alchemy powers and also why it eventually loses such property and dismantles.

This time I have a complaint about the episode, though: they got really fast to the last part... It felt like they skipped something. I mean, it was like: "Remember what he said? The real truth beyond the truth... there has to be something else" *fades black* "These are all the alchemy research facilities in Central..." It just didn't feel right.

Anyway, lots of questions raised and possible involvement by the brothers in political matters (as Armstrong mentioned). Plus, it ended on a cliffhanger. Nice stuff there. Oh, and why were Lust and Gluttony so interested in killing Scar?

Quite an amazing episode again they're really making this compact and with a good pas, though I wonder they've bundled so many episodes in to one that they still come to a larger total episode count than the original, well let's see what they've got to offer us it's definitely great to have seen the original as you can really put both side by side and get a great complete story!

amazing O___O

in here the fight between scar and gluttony took place in the sewers and lust just burned the library herself instead. in the first season gluttony and lust fought scar in the library and due to the destruction it burned during their fights.

wahh Lituenant Ross voice actor change from Saiga, Mitsuki to Nazuka, Kaori(Nunnaly!!!)

and Havoc's voice actor is Kimbley's voice from the first season XD

they also switch Sheska's voice!!

i like her first voice, here it isn't bad :P

the scene where edward helped sheska is exactly the same in the first season. they also sped up when sheska wrote marcho's research.

also the same days where it took her to wrote them(5 days) and Edwrd read all of them in 10 days.

and yeah when Armstrong got the info from Ross and Havoc is much better(he barged in and destroyed the door)

Ed didn't seem as gloomy compared to the first season when he learned the ingredient for making the philosopher's stone(Ross had to help him out)

ahaha Ed said to himself he's small is so funny XD

they didn't also show Barry's short story from the first season :P

can't wait for the fight ^^

Sorry to break the flow of "loved it" but I didn't like it that much. But I am noticing that it's always taking me 2-3 viewings to like the new series episodes. They are in fact quite good, but I can't help compare it to FMA1 in my first viewing. Anyway, what I didn't like-

1. The Scar-homunculus fight was too short.
2. How Sheska (I always thought her name was Cheska when I watched FMA1 dubbed !!) was introduced. I mean not how she introduced herself and all coz that was very good and funny but how Ed and Al were suddenly taken to a fired ex-employee seemed like "rushed" (oh no here's that word again, sorry). Anyway when I watched that part a second time, it did seem quite logical for the military to keep such information.

3. How Ed and Al revealed the truth to Ross and Brosh themselves and then requested them to keep quiet about it didn't feel right with me. Obviously they had to tell Armstrong. In FMA1 Ross overheard it which I personally found better.

4. Was it just me or did it seem like the conversation where Hughes gives Sheska the job misses a few lines? like Sheska saying she can reproduce all the records or Hughes confirming that she can do it. In the episode, it showed Sheska saying she memorized the records and Hughes immediately saying "Alright, let's go through the procedures" . A trifle thing but well it's bugging me.

5. Still can't find a stand-out/moving music theme. Arghhh.

this is exactly how i feel. this show fails as a remake for me.
the plot in fma was nicely built to give a nice touch and things were expanded on. i personally am not fond of the way fmab is doing this. too rushed. poeple who didnt watch fma and started in fmab just miss out all the good stuff

I'm surprised at how quickly things are moving along. Fast paced stuff this for such a long series.

Episode that has many differences in the narrative, but the ultimate goal is the same, get to discover the secrets of Marco. Nice tale, many gags dot the episode, drawings and animations of good, for now nothing new in the plot. Armstrong in this reboot, seems to occupy more space than the FMA.

That was a weak episode. There were too many obnoxious jokes which broke the flow and plain unfunny. Not to mention the addition of Sheska, the walking plot device. Oh how convenient, she just happens to loooove reading, including military records, cookbooks etc. And she remember absolutely everything word for word.

Ah well, at least the show will move past this quickly.

Well the story is somewhat similar to the 1st version in 2003. They finished about 20-25 episodes of 2003 version in just 7 episodes. Though the story keeps the viewer interested in my opinion the 2003 version had way better execution.

I found the fact that a philosophers stone requires living humans to be created very clever. Think about it, the law of equivalent exchange dictates that "In order for something to be gained, something of equal value must be lost" the only exemption is done by the usage philosophers stone. So the stone must indeed be of great value. And what is more valuable than existence itself? It is irreplaceable and irreplicable. Nothing matters once you are dead so of course it's value has to be infinite. So therefore it's only natural for human lives to be the source of the stone.

The fifth laboratory, huh? It seems Central's list of offences doesn't end with genociding the Ishvalans alone. I really want to hear King Bradley's and Roy's stance about all this. This episode is nice, a bit of light-hearted humor here in there, the lack of seriousness that is I guess the characteristic of FMA.

Sheska might look like a normal side character but being able to memorize a whole library of books word for word is pretty damn impressive.

It took them quite a while to decipher the code to the Philosopher's Stone and they really didn't like what they found out. After the whole human chimera transmutation fiasco, the last thing they'd like to find out is that their only hope for returning their bodies back to normal requires the sacrifice of human lives regardless of whether they're good or bad.

They broke into prison but there's very little to no guard presence and it looks like the prisoners took over for a pretty long time now.

Another great episode, the pacing is really fast.

Sheska really saved the day by memorizing Marcoh's entire research, too bad that the stone is made of humans. It feels like those 2 will never be able to recover their bodies at this point, even so they go to the 5th laboratory to investigate the truth behind the truth

I said one episode a day, but eff it! This is one anime that begs to be binge-watched!

Anyway, the Elric brothers are able to study Dr Marcoh's research. They managed to discover what makes up a philosopher's stone: human sacrifices. Sheesh, no wonder Marcoh didn't want 'em to find out. And with that, they decided to look more into it.

I always did like the "abandoned" lab facility setting. Some ominous characters have made themselves known.
