Well one thing I do like about Asuka in this show is that when she has something on her mind to get done, she's determind to finish it.

In the meantime, this show feels like it's reaching to its climax soon. Also, Yu getting worried about her friends is not surprising.

Interesting episode that while showing the after effects of the fight last episode also did well in expanding upon Asuka and Yuu's characters. The events back in Asuka's fragment sure created a shadow over the girls. Though it was surprising seeing Asuka get serious about taking on the clutters and the twilight king. Seriousasuka's demise seems to have made things more real to her. The christmas party was a nice gesture though. It was nice seeing everyone have fun and liven up their spirits after what happened. The insight into Asuka's hidden feelings and into the events that happened with her bro was insightful. Seems Asuka was using her nature to mask her inner sadness. This episode sure ended with quite the surprising revelation.

I have a feeling that the kid Asuka in the end is actually Alt Asuka. She might be brainwashed and transformed into that form.

I thought this series at first had driven itself to a corner, but nope...

At last the revelation of the kid that we saw in the OP behind the King of Twilight was NOT the king but the Chosen One to do its bidding.

And Seriouska is gone, what to do about that. The feud between Asuka and Yu is exposed that brings their 10-year relationship into pieces of Asuka's brother Kyo. And Asuka left herself into pieces to play the liars' game against the others, possibly to close that truth away.

More like the set-up episode that's building towards the climax, intriguing yet wanting to know how this will end.

So the theory about Asuka's brother being the twilight king is still plausible

I'm really liking Asuka in the first half of the episode, I know it was forced but it really isn't any different from the usual Asuka, just more hyper and super forced

I dunno what to say about this loli Asuka lol I think if her brother is actually the twilight king then this Asuka (our mc) might actually not from this fragment, and that loli Asuka is the one from this fragment

nah, it's probably an Asuka from another fragment but instead of Kyo chan missing, it's probably Asuka that is missing from that fragment

On the surface this show seems pretty silly, but in truth is probably the smartest show this season. Its literally jebaited all the audience. Kyo chan can still be king, and twilight asuka could just be the servant, but that seems implausible.
Asukas has become an extremely 3d character espically after this eposide. The themes that asuka dealt this eposide were really good. I thought chloe was the most similar to me, but its actually asuka. AlsoHer relationship with yu is in a pretty bad place rn, and the group is pretty split.
Theres also the teacher person of seems to also be a servant now

Another good episode that lets its characters do their thing, never overstepping its bounds, but at the same time giving us something impactful. I really like this silly little anime.

I had speculated early on to myself that Asuka would be directly involved in the Twilight stuff... especially with the brother vanishing being unanimous across all words...

It's as much i predicted as it is unexpected. I didn't expect the Twilight person to also be Asuka, which basically aligns everything to, Asuka and her brother are the crux of everything.

Next is to see, if this is all a natural disaster caused by an alignment of worlds or something, or if an ulterior motive utilized her potency for their reasons.

Reasonable hypothesis.

What got me most this episode however, with the attentiveness and strong writing put into the interactions and conflicts between these friends. To kind of structure what happened for you:

-Asuka is a very strong girl, mentally. She knows how she feels better than anyone, and always did. Unlike most characters where putting on a happy expression is usually a sign of denial, her actions were different, she was very strong willed and concise. Her robust happy demeanor is and never was meant for herself, it was meant for everyone else. Her message is to not worry about her.

-Yuu failed to understand this, and blamed Asuka for not being honest and spoken about how she feels. Yuu is of character that needs things to be spoken and clear, and she presumes that lacking of honest expression equates to lack of understanding. So her reaction was to the assumption that Asuka was in denial.

-Asuka was indeed not speaking her heart, but that did not mean she didn't understand her own feelings, nor in any form of denial. She already knew her brother was long gone, and even in chasing his shadow, was merely out of hope, not out of clinging to the past. In the cafe, she was also very clear about the fact that she doesn't believe in giving up when the evidence is not solid enough. She may deep down have already thought that there was a possibility that her brother may be somewhere lost in the Twilight or other fragments. He did simply just vanish one day after all.

-Chloe was afraid to interject and was at a loss, and Mia just wants everyone to get along and not fight.

-Nana came in, and her speaking suggests she understands, at least partially, that Asuka is indeed strong, and that for her, spoken is not necessary.

This conflict of friendship really amazed me and showed me the quality of writing at play here. Right form the get go i could tell there was something special about this series, of the subtle order in leagues with perhaps Toji no Miko, in which it takes on the face of a semi-generic seeming premise, but in actuality is much more than that. Overall, this is a great and sorely underrated series.

I thought that kid would be Asuka's brother, turning out to be her younger alternative version was a bit of a shocker. I think Yu shouldn't have told Asuka how she should feel when losing someone, she dealt with grief in her own way and shouldn't be told otherwise. People like that like to control people's emotion and they shouldn't do that to others. The least they could do is show support, in which Yu didn't in this episode.

Otherwise good episode,

I'm surprised about this show. Unlike some episodes from others shows of this season, this episode have a cohesive pacing and the drama was surprisingly well-done. Also, I wasn't really expecting to be a version of Asuka. My score went from 4 to 6.

- A cheerful Asuka, a Serious Asuka, and now an Evil Asuka
This is my stupid theory :

- An evil Asuka is the embrassy
- Asuka's lil bro is the king....
Hmm.... this is sound forced by force :v

Oh, they hyped me up that the cloaked tiny kid is Asuka's lost brother. Did not expect chibi Asuka to be an evil messenger of doom! well, played story writers... well played.

I also fear that their shy teacher was turned into a clutter. Looking forward to next week! ><

One thing that's stood out to me with this show over time is that this group of girls feels more like a real bunch of friends that I could plausibly see hanging out in real life than most anime have.

Have to agree to that. Can also feel the tension when Yuu and Asuka were arguing.
The way Asuka thinks is a little scary to me.. her coping mechanism to big problems is depressed for a bit then suddenly cheerful the next day.

I already explained in my prior post, Asuka isn't coping, she's trying to keep her friends and those around her from being down - she's protecting everyone else. She isn't a weakling to be stuck in denial like that.

Poor Asuka ...

Well, the chibi of OP finally made its appearance. It is already clear that he is not the Twilight King. However, now there are only two episodes left and the Twilight King has not made his official appearance yet.

See you in the next episode.

lol I'm surprised, Loliasuka is the emissary. And Asuka vs Yuu had some very true but painful words exchanged, more depth into how Asuka's copes with life since her bro vanished.

Oh shit that ending, was expecting something like that actually, actually was more expecting it to be her lost brother, but if herself from another parallel universe isn't the king then could her brother that disappeared be the king?

Well looking forwards to see what happens next!

Hm. If they thought it would be fun to watch Asuka deluded in the worst possible trope, they should think twice. Whole episode was full of overblown drama and the way Asuka acted was just annoying. You could probably skip most of this episode with no loss whatsoever.

Even the very end was ridiculous, like wtf even was that reveal out of nowhere? Has she actually created alll those fragments? Is she the cause of this instability? I want the end to be actually something meaningful but somehow I don't see any satisfactory conclusion coming, there will be probably one big bossfight, transformation upgrade and then happily ever after with everyone resurrected.

I am confused now.... Was that true? How could that little Asuka in there? Where was the sexy Yuu? Poor to that sensei die in young and never got a chance to proposed her beloved girl. Although its a pity to had Asuka sudden changed of personality, but her behaviour on this episode kinda irritating. Shit. So, lets skip some commentary here and just go to the other episode....
