Oh man, this show is starting to feel like Halloween or something lol

All these different characters with their masks and reactions. The skeletal dude still stands out the most though if you ask me.

The mornings sure are hectic for a bookstore. They sure have strict rules regarding which books to put on display though. Balancing deliveries sure looks tough. The insight into the difference of japanese manga and western comics though was pretty interesting. Another day and another hectic day at the bookstore. This episode really showed just how much work actually goes behind the scenes in a bookstore.

Great episode as always!

They explain it at the end of the episode, it's based on former experience.

Interesting, I really like when mangakas base their work on their personal experiences, it makes them feel a lot more genuine. This is a really nice anime to have a laugh and have some relax time between marathons of episodes, I'm really enjoying it so far.

This episode wasn't good. The characters kept complaining and we don't get enough time to think.

The anime is probably more enjoyable if you have experience working in a bookstore. For those of us that don't know much about it, it would have been nice to have a character, who doesn't know much, learning through experience.

Oh, poor Koomote-san, some of her books were delayed so she had to be there on her day off, so sad.

It was kind of interesting to know what happens during the day when the library receives more books but it wasn't that good. Honestly, the last episode was better. At least, I now know how stressful their jobs can be.

Holy smokes, I had no idea what was going on in the first part. The whole episode felt like a bunch of bookstore worker inside jokes. I still enjoy seeing the inner workings of a bookstore, very reminiscent of Denki-gai no Honya-san.

That's really an informative anime I love it !

Manga, 4-koma manga, foreigners comics, artbook, light novels... yeah I can totally relate to the rush thoses big japan bookstores have if they have to put EVERYTHING on display the some days before the holidays!

[...] Those who don't understand and can't relate... you're kind of stupid aren't you ?

Why? Duration /=/ quality and the comedy is mostly wordplay, references, and reaction shots. Nothing really calls for fancier animation.

uh? Then if I enjoy something...can't I want it better and longer?

There are lots and lots of anime that have a silly history or are full of gags and have an incredible animation that makes them even better, think about "Nichijou" or "Danshi koukousei no nichijou" for example, those anime are really well done, but if you think on it they're just gag anime, right? ;) this one should have the same rights that all those ones, although i will enjoy it anyways owo)/

I feel like the difference there is both of those shows employ a lot of surreal humor and physical comedy. You need animation to really convey things like the deer suplex or the giant mouth laser. You don't really need it for the "Special Yaoi Book".

And again, longer /=/ better. There are plenty of short episode series that would completely wear out their welcome with 24 minute episodes.

Jokes aside, this episode really manages to capture the hardship of a long day of work, the breakdowns, the intensity, and the exhaustion, but most of all, the spirit of the team and the importance of good relationship with your co-workers. I really like how they handled the fourth wall breaking in this episode at the end, with Honda-san shouting out his advisor as himself being the Mangaka of the source material of the show.

I've seen a glimpse of how much of a hassle receiving and sorting newly-arrived books can be so I can understand their plight.

This reminds me about how disappointed I sometimes get towards the manga section of bookstores I go to and it might be because they don't bother bringing out the good stuff in the storeroom...
