Oh boy, trouble in Venedik...

Not bad this episode. There's more political drama rather than bloodshed but was still quite tense. Antonio Lucio is an intimidating man and not to be underestimated tbh. On the other hand, I do like how Mahmut is able to keep his confidence and resolve their conflict.

Ohhh man the war is on.

Looks like its the Empire and their PM as the strateg against everyone else on the continent.

Also seems like old Pasha dude will be taking the Turkiye army's lead.

War has begun. A plague has spread in Venedik. That's not good. The Empire are sly people. The Tripartite Military Alliance has been formed. Halil is going to be leading Torqye's first expeditionary forces.

An empire must wage war, it's in their blood.
Venedik falls for the ploys and everyone is now choosing sides.

Hoping this anime someday gets the recognition it should. I don't like the color (too bright, a chiaroscuro-kind-of-art-style would have fit much more with the mood of the show, which is somewhat more mature in content than the art-style, which creates a certain disonance into the show) , but it is not a bad adaptation of the manga by any means. It hurts my heart a bit every time when I come in here and see a score below 7 for this.

The beginning of the Great War. Things are sure heating up, and it escalated quickly.

The story is good but the anime adaptation is just horrid. I get excited for every episode now after reading the manga and then I end up depressed or upset with the way the episodes are directed. Rushed would be an understatement. Just pure garbage some episodes.

Shit is about to go down son and 8 episodes to show just how bad it does hit the fan...man I hope this war covers the last of this show's run. I gotta say though, this is probably one of the most improved shows I've been keeping up with since last season. I mean I was gonna drop it after the first 4 episodes but it really really has gotten drastically better. Sure the pacing feels off here and there but it's very enjoyable.
Don't believe the hype.

I agree. The content of the series is good and I like the setting and characters, but the series is so rushed it hurts its quality. This episode (and the previous one) could have been two episodes perfectly. It's like if the studio is tried to cram all the chapters they want into one episode. Basically the antithesis of One Piece's anime.

Btw, looking how Urado's king is likely inspired in Vlad Tepes, I find very ironic he is allying himself with the equivalent of the Otoman in that world of all people.

I'm a little late in saying this but the new OP isn't too bad, but I think the first ED was better.

Anyway, the political drama is heating up and the war has officially begun. I'm excited to see how this progresses.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

Good episode.

The empire totally played Venedik here. Despite that, I really loved the part where the Alliance was formed. The whole political meeting was really well done.

War has broken out, this is gonna be rough.

I guess that answers the question why the King of Urado killed the envoy. "I'd like to see them try." Lol.

Was the Doge smoking a bong?

Yay, the leaders of the three nations unite! It's nice to see all of the characters come in and get a bit of the screen time. And Zaganos turning down the Grand Commander title? I didn't expect that. I thought he would take it, but I guess going with covert operations would be better. Instead, old man Halil takes the title saying that the new leaders are young, so he'll be there to watch over them to prevent any mistakes. I like that...

But darn that plague ploy. That's going to hurt Venedik a lot. Now Mahmut and company have to rush down to save them. And looks like Suleyman will be taking the lead in the next episode. FOR THE ALLIANCE!

I can definitely see the rushing and cramming of so many events in this episode. I guess MAPPA can't afford to expand the series because of budget constraints and priorities and such (I blame Kakegurui!). Also, the first volume of Altair was just released, and I don't expect to see high sales. Very unfortunate. I would have taken 52 episodes of this. If Altair were to have two seasons, I think this episode would have been very fitting as the final episode of the first season. Leave it on a cliffhanger and make the next season the War.

Yeah, Zaganos Pasha has surprised me, but this man again has an utsukushii side we haven't seen yet. I am hoping we will see his bad ass side soon.

I have seen some of MAPPA's other works and all of them are mediocre job, the last one GARO Vanishing Line is simply a bad job, rough sketching. I don't know if it is a budget issue or something else.

For Altair, I could criticize them, then again, we wouldn't see an adaptation of the manga.

By the way, did you see Einstein? I laughed. The emperor didn't listen to him.

From now on; we will witness characters' own resolutions. The war is coming.

Pacing aside, the show is really picking up. It's gone from "Oh, Shoukoku is out tonight =_=" to "Wahey, Shoukoku!". I just really wish it was made by anyone besides MAPPA, and that it could have been made a decade or two ago when longer and slower paced anime were more frequent. I'd have loved if this was paced similar to Juuni Kokuki/12 Kingdoms for example.

Yup, this could've been way more enjoyable with proper pacing, right now I feel overwhelmed by the sudden development, with all the incidents and infos at once, too bad this didn't get two double cour seasons. It's really a shame..

Anyway, I'm still hyped for the upcoming episodes and the great war.

Congratulations to Mahmut on creating the alliance! Glad that Halil understands the importance of young people in politics.
The Louis is always a few steps in front of them.
Now this will get even more interesting, can't wait!

Very interesting episode so far, *Feels Good*. A smart strategical plan pulled off by the prime minister Louis himself particular the false plague rumours (Ironic because of his appearance masked with the medieval doctor mask), much to dismay even the fox of Centro Doge Lucio could ever anticipate. What also made the atmosphere in the Divan meeting so great is the alliance formed.

It has been a while I guess it's time for me to catch up!.

Really not making Louis interesting anymore. He is basically dooming the empire and admitting to it. He won't be satisfied until the empire completely crumbles under the weight of its own widespread conflicts. It seemed like he cared about the empire's prosperity at first but now he just doesn't
