Whoa this episode was thrilling. Literally a great escape (also the episode title) as Nina and her friend rides underground to freedom.

Ofc they had a little help from the zombie girl but that was pretty entertaining to watch. Also nice to see Favaro free from those bar and reunite with Nino. I love their character chemistry together ever since they've first met (from the flashback episode)

Silly Nina. You cna't hold the guard that long while you're just using a whip and some pebbles. You need to transform into dragon. At least Rita and her umbrella (and the Iron Hand) can be useful during that escape. >_<
As expected from Favaro, always full of surprise.

War has started and the angels appears like they are winning. But Charioce decided to use the device underground. The escape from prison was amusing to watch. Everyone meeting each other was funny, but now they are caught in the device. I'm curious to see what it's going to do.

This is so far one of the best game-to-anime series I've seen. I'm thoroughly impressed.... The quality is good, and the writing is one of the better in all the anime I've seen. Also, it's funny from time to time without forcing it.

So many questions but so little answers. What is that green stone? The only thing we know so far is that Cheerios stole it from the Gods and that it's extremelly useful against powerful magic beings, but how did he even come to know about that thing in the first place?

This is what frustrates me the most about this second season, the fact that they're going full speed with this story without explaining anything that happened on that f*cking TEN YEARS gap between the first season and this one.

For all we know, Cheerios might actually be a good guy that knows something big is about to happen to the world (like Bahamut reviving again or some sh*t like that) and he's trying to prevent it and that's why he's doing things the way he does.

Agree wholeheartedly. This is such an enjoyable watch. It's well made, yet it doesn't fall into the trap of being pretentious or overly conversational. It just delivers a good fantasy/adventure yarn.

Patience. This is a 2 cour, not one. Just as we've had background on what happened with Jeanne/Favaro and Nina, I'm sure we'll have some major one on Charioce and what happened. I bet that is at the core of the story and will be revealed right before we enter the climax. Just enjoy the ride.

El/Mugaro looks badass.

Flying Nina.

I can't help but feel something bad is going to happen to the angels. They relying too much on El/Mugaro, the same way Azazel relied on Nina.

But with Favaro, it will turn unpredictable and interesting. That exploding iron hand was quite useful.

I dunno, maybe I'll properly watch it together with the next episode. They haven't gotten to the important parts. As @Not_Important has mentioned, it's really frustrating that they haven't shown what motivates the king. There should be another side to what Gabriel says. And some details should've been better explained - like, what were the onyx soldiers or their armor doing in the device chamber? Were those planned scarifices, why they're fine with the device destroying the lab?

But what really annoys me is their logistics. Why the king is on a balcony with ministers, ffs? Like seriously? Not in a command center, doing damage control, not with the army, not even near the device he knows he may need? Isn't he supposed to be a competent manager? How can he sit like that? Is he a fighter in fact or not? I do think that they should've worked better on the court, palace life is designed pathetically. This breaks immersion for me.
And everyone seems to be deathly afraid of Charioce's irritated tone, all the while we haven't seen him executing people or getting rid of Kaisar for opposing opinions and he makes demons protect Orlean Knights this episode. If he is abusive/vindictive/conducts cleansings, at least show some executions or him snapping violently, I don't know. And why no countermeasure against El, whose power has been seen?

I also dislike that the whole crew just accidentally got into the important device. Good guys are lucky, eh?
That thing look rad though. Though it's really unclear how they plan to activate it with the weird shape and size.

Edit: Basically I am really mad on them underdelivering on the king. They made a sexy ambitious young dictator. It's shameless as hell, but you need to go all the way with shameless. What they needed to do to is to make him also feel alive, because we all know about historical figure grade people, but haven't seen them in life. They just needed to show how he lives a bit, and that's what they don't do at all. He just strikes poses, which is also inconsistemt with his own position in their universe.

Holy fuck, animation turned up to 150!! This episode looked fucking awesome.

Nina dancing over the water was particularly great to look at.

Charioce is just a fucking badass, who would i be if i don't root for this guy now (yeah, i'm rooting for him at this point since i don't trust the gods at all atm).

EPIC sequence when the gods descended. Felt like a movie with the score playing.

One of the best episodes this season overall.

That was a fucking great episode.

The escape with the wagon was fun and the OST fitted perfectly to this scene, Ritas expression when Nina destroyed the brake was priceless :D

Meanwhile the war between the gods and the humans was already full in action, the gods were pretty much overwhelming, but Charioce still has a ass in his sleeve.

Kaisars and Favaros left their cell in quite a spectacular way, nice trick which I didn't expected.

In the end all our friends were finally (re)united, just to get interrupted by Charioces trump card. I'm extremely satisfied with the development so far, this show is really something else, can't wait for next week.

Amazing episode. The prison break was thrilling, with the girls engaged in a high-speed wagon chase, while Favaro trolled Kaisar by exploding his hand (poor Kaisar losing his hand again lol). It was nice to see them all reunite as well, unfortunately that was cut short and now they're all caught in the king's weapon.

Also, the music and animation in this episode was 5/5.

*still proceeds to watch* Some other impressions:

The escape is very well-animated, but its greatness is a bit marred by the fact that it happens second time.

Killing the demon collaborator officer was a waste. I hoped for interactions between him and the Orlean captains pair, especially Alexander. Demons could use some humanization (for the lack of better word).

The waste of troops is beyond terrible. You don't prepare a wunderwaffe and then sit on your ass while your troops are slaughtered when you don't have more troops.
Also I really like the design of their mages. Btw, were there no mage soldiers in season one? These use the green power. (Wish there was a named voiced mage character also more named troops or bodyguard characters in general, at least 2.)

Kaisar may misinterpret Rita's explosive care. And Rita will be jealous of Jeanne (seriously, Kaisar, those eyes.)

But what about Azazel?

Man that was such a great episode. It was fun watching Nina, Rita and Jeanne escape the prison. I lol'd especially when Nina was trying to hold the guards back. I was happy when Kaisar and Favaro met up with Nina and everyone else.

Now as for the gods, they clearly don't mess around. They came down and started to kick ass in the holiest way possible. But it seems like they're gonna have some trouble with whatever that organic looking green/black device is.

Can't wait for the next episode!

So now it makes sense why Charioce has been so damn confident all along!
He's been hiding a strange, green orb tree underground...like, I have no idea what it does or how it works but it's probably a weapon of mass destruction.

Also, where did all the prison guards go? Did the egg tree consume them or something??
I want answers now, dammit!!

It was really great seeing all the major players in the series together and reunited dat Jeanne x Kaisar tho.
Also love how Rita secretly armed Kaisar's prosthetic with an explosion "because she was worried" about him XD

Oh yeah, and has everyone forgotten about Azazel...c'mon guys, he's being tortured. Go help a dude out plz.
Unless...the tree ate him or some shiz :O

Really wonder now what that big green sphere is.. probably something to shoot angels down to earth, maybe? The way Gabriel and her anges behave, killing innocent people, they would totally deserved it.

The direction of part one was just pure trolling though, Indiana Jones references, running animation repetition and some really weird faces. So ridiculous it was almost hillarious. But once was more than enough, let's hope they are back on par the next time.

Just as you think the gods may actually be able to defeat Charioce, he is able to reveal this absolute monster of a super weapon that will presumably turn this into the slaughter I was initially expected. That being said, I'm glad that the gang are back together shortly before this all goes to hell because of Charioce's madness.

It's actually impressive how bad this is compared to the prequel..
However, I'll watch the remaining episodes.

It's wishful thinking, but Amira should return.. and Nina, Charioce and Azazel die/disappepar. Then we'd have the focus back on our lovable trio and this anime could improve. Of course you can't ignore great characters like Rita and Jeanne D'Arc.

Right now I'm expecting it to continue its mediocrity, unfortunately.

This episode was amazing! The escape sequence animation was gorgeous and the shout out to Temple of Doom- spot on!

But... have they all forgotten about poor Azazel?

Nina, at the very least, KNOWS he's somewhere being tortured... but it's like, "Oh well! Time to break some rocks! Heeee!" Kaiser also knows he's somewhere trapped down in the prison. He seemed to be at least a little concerned for Azazel before so... what happened? He sees Favaro and is suddenly overwhelmed I guess LMAO!!

Kind of sad that Mugaro/El also seems to have forgotten Azazel. I would have loved a brief convo with him and Gabriel about how, "Angels shouldn't be concerned with demons!" or something when Mugaro brings him up. It might have been a nice bit of drama there.

Ah well, with 12 more eps to go, I'm sure we'll see him again. Just hope it's done well and he's not relegated to being some side bit.

More than the "Great Escape" and the controversy of the blonde, all predictable, the thing that struck me is the ace in the sleeve that Favaro has to escape from the prison. Nina "Indiana Jones" Drango, the saga invented by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, continues to be still prosperous today. <3

Humanity is awesome, look at these metal casting tech, the metal that make the rail doesn't even rust when comes in contact with waters, look at the size of the army and the technology they possessed, truly incredible. Just years after break free from gods and demons they have achieved so much, and probably have advanced 1000 years technologically, yet these gods want to put constraint on human once again. The gods are truly despicable. Cheerios have already prepared for all of this since ep1, what a king. Truly a hero that humanity deserve.

Damn that Daoko's illustr, cute, good singer/rapper, can draw, fashionable, etc etc how perfected can she be.
