Sigh... this is like a DanganRonpa fan/gamer's great moment. Besides the last episode of the Despair route with seeing Junko and Mukuro again and shit about to go down on that route due to those two despair sisters coming along, all of the familiar faces shown here and shit's about to go down on this side as well. I'm very excited. <3

I thought its gonna be a boring episode not until the half part where Togami appeared. Seems like he still knows his way around. Always one step ahead.

I never played Another Episode too, was waiting for the PC release :(

That Hajime eyes from the last episode of Despair and this one though. More Hajime love I guess.

A new Despair episode for Thursday!

Oh man, so many things happening.

Finally Togami showed up, I was waiting for him. And he knows about Monaca too... But I hope he isn't right about she being the one behind everything, I would be very disappointed.

I was really to see Fukawa and Komaru too ~ I can't wait for Genocider Syo to make an appearance.

Kamukura though!! That kind of sucks, because if Kamukura is back, that means everything that happened in SDR2 was pointless, and there's the chance that he either killed everyone else in the island or all the "survivors" are Remnants of Despair again.

Err... you do realize Kamukura Izuru and the other Despair survivors never gone back into their old self in the end of SDR2?

Man, oh man, it was bad enough that they killed Seiko. But Izayoi too. They killed the comically serious guy as well before any actual character development! Something tells me we're not going to have too many more deaths due to this mutual killing game.

I'm disappointed that they killed off the real Gekkogahara. It feels like there's a twelve-part miniseries between Absolute Despair Girls and Dangan Ronpa 2 where Future Foundation is just doing business as usual.

I laugh at the part where she said Makoto is being loser because he need women to help him.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

As many have stated, I think Izayoi was poisoned by his NG code, cuz of Ruruka, so she stabbed him and applied makeup, to cover it.

Weird thing is, the intro showed 10 people left, but we only knew 5 people died by the time... Izayoi was discovered dead after the intro...
Tbh that was spoiling the death of someone extra.

Other than that, good to see a connection to the old games (Ultra despair girls, DR: Trigger happy havoc and DR2)

Hagakure, I don't trust your 30% Happy ending... That means 70% on a bad ending .-.

I'm betting that this Hajime is a mix between him and Izuru.
This is going to be great. Next few episodes we'll finally see Izuru in action. He's basicly the ultimate lifeform. Given what all the other talented people can do in Danganronpa, I'm curious what the ultimate 'ultimate' can do.

Holly crap guys...the ending. The ending is taking me LONGEST TIME to try to comprehend.

We all probably assumed that after sdr2, izuru retained some of his memories from the game and went back to being 'hinata'...but at this end of the episode..

In the end, that was not an appearance by Hinata. That was certainly...Izuru Kamakura, there is no doubt about it. No mistake.. We could've questioned it and ran in circles about it, but he even spoke and that is most definitely something that would come out of Izuru's mouth and, not hinata.

This raises the possibility that Izuru acted like Hinata, even cut his HAIR like Hinata, in order to reassure Naegi, Kirigiri, and Togami to bsically get them off the island. It could've all been a part of his plan, and knowing Izuru this is something he would definitely be scheming. Holy crap...I feel like everything I thought I knew is a lie since this means the remnants of despair most likely all woke up evil again...brb still trying to process this even hours after watching the ep

Nah that`s just Izurus one liner to everything. After all his state of body/brain is still the same after the Kamukura Project. The only difference is his mindest/memorys.
After all he got everything back. His lifespan as Hajime Hinata + Izuru + NPW memorys.
The only difference is his eye. In the NPG the sybomlic combination between Hinatas and Kamukuras eyes got us a crosshair eye.
But his original body is still the same.
I highly doubt Kodaka will waste all the character development from Hinata/Izuru.
It would be stupid if this was "all along" Izurus masterplan.
After all he accepts both his past as Hajime and Izuru he is both. But he has all hits "Talent" and precdiction ability. So ofc he would say that about the army of combat ships no big deal for his Izuru side^^.
Gawd i am so hyped if eh goes next episode in his super sayian form of Ultimate Faith/Future get them Hajime.

PS: the irony is strong in this one. Remember DR2 Chapter 0 conversation between Izuru and Komaeda about ships XD

Well Hinatas/Izuru mindset (my idear of his mindset) is screw both Hope & Despair. He will go his own way to his future he fought for.
There will be a lot of despair but also equal hope nonetheless he will keep moving forward. What ever this/his future may be. It`s like his own theme/idear/ideology about the whole Hope/Despair theme throughout the whole series. For example the different themes in UltraDespairGirls of Black Hope and White Despair.

They most likely moved his body to a more illuminated place in order to examine him better.
They´ll probably also move Seiko´s body as soon as Kirigiri ends with Izayoi.

I don't think that it's fair. They commited various crimes when in despair. People die by their hands, people are hurt because of them, they need to pay for this. Is the right thing.

So, If Junko is alive and rehabilitated, you don't arrest her because of her crimes? Or kill her?

Well, I love them as characters but I'm realistic, they commit crimes before and need to pay for this. It's the rule of the World and in Danganronpa is the same. They are good now? Yes, but the crimes continue to exist. :(

Oh I see your point. Yeah, I admit that it would be kinda lame too xD
Although, the DR2 cast is different from Junko. Junko can't be rehabilitated. She is despair incarnated, even Kodaka said that she doesn't have a tragic past or anything, she just has a boner for despair.
But, yeah, I do agree that they have to pay for their crimes in some way or another. But, just killing them would be kinda pointless too, I mean, with Izuru's talent they could cure cancer or something...
Well, let's see what is going to happen o-o *hyped*

I am pretty sure Izuru did not get back any of his memories during the New world program. Because instead of completing the program, they decided to terminate the program to stop Junko from taking over their body. IIRC in SDR2 last trial, Hinata even said to Naegi what is the point of the program if they can't transfer their memories in NWP to their bodies since that means they will still become the ultimate despair. And of course Naegi being Naegi he said he believed in him and the other survivors that can get back their hope yadayada even if they didnt remember what happened. So I think that is Izuru that have his hope awoken somehow after the ending in sdr2

Err... you do realize Kamukura Izuru and the other Despair survivors never gone back into their old self in the end of SDR2?

Well, quoting the wikia, "After the defeat of AI Junko, Hajime and former Ultimate Despair members opted to stay on the Jabberwock Islands, possibly in hopes that they could do something to help their comatose friends, acknowledging his past but choosing to live on as Hajime Hinata."

That means Hinata acknowledged his past, but he is Hinata now, and not Kamukura. Or he was supposed to be. But besides Hinata, there were more 5 characters who didn't fall into a coma because they beat Junko in the end. The "friends" Hinata (and the other 5) wants to wake up are the others, the ones who died in-game and are now in a coma.

Quoting the wikia again, (I picked Souda at random, but I believe the other 4 must say the same thing), "After the defeat of AI Junko Enoshima, Kazuichi and the former Ultimate Despair members opted to stay on the Jabberwock Island, possibly in hopes that they could do something to help their comatose friends."

So, yeah, no more Remnants of Despair.

What I understood from the end of this episode, is that somehow "Kamukura" took over Hinata again. Meaning that despair took over hope again. And if that happened to Hinata, then I imagine it could have happened to the others.

I know I can be wrong, and I really hope that's the case tbh.

Yeah that is true, Basically Hinata or Izuru accepted his past as Hinata and his present as Izuru and try to look things in the future in more brighter way.

Just to clear a little bit things, what I mean by "Kamukura Izuru and the other Despair survivors never gone back into their old self in the end of SDR2" is that they never trully gone back to their self before they become ultimate despair, Since the NWP goal is to overwrite their memories with happy school life before the event that causing them to turn into ultimate despair happened, that means if the program succeed, When Hinata and the others woke up they will have their memories during the NWP and forget what happened when they are the ultimate despair. But since that did not happened, they basically still have their memories as the ultimate despair and no memories when they are in the NWP, but I guess they still get some hope thanks to Naegi and that is why Izuru/Hinata is changing in the end. But as we can see in the anime now, he didn't change that much I guess, still thinking everything is boring like how he is before haha

Hinata and the others remember everything that happened in the Neo World Program, I know Junko said that they wouldn't but what happened with Hinata in the final trial was also supposed to be impossible so we can't really trust that.

But the problem is, even if Hinata, Souda, Kuzuryuu, Sonia and Akane are good now... what about the others? For example, Mikan died after killing two people for Junko, she died still being in love with her.

When izayoi's body was found, the music and shaky effect plays. So the big hint is whenever the bgm plays of a corpse that've been found, the killer isn't the "real" attacker(?)

This episode was so amazing. Finally, everything is coming together.

So, immediately I noticed the survivor count was 10 rather than 11, which is what it should have been, so I was on the lookout for who could have died. I nearly had a heart attack when Makoto's dream happened.

Afterwards I noticed Izayoi's death does not resemble any of the other deaths. While he was stabbed in the chest, he was not suspended like the other three victims. Also, his murder weapon is the same weapon Seiko was stabbed with, and the weapon is gone when we see her body again. Either during the sleep or straight after they woke up, someone took that knife and killed Izayoi. I suspect Ruruka, but I'm not sure.

So, Byakuya, Toko, and Komaru finally appeared, confirming the death of the real Miaya. While I expected it, I'm still sad. Sadder still, Munakata has sent fleets to kill the Remnants of Despair on Jabberwock Island. Also, Munakata has stolen the weapon Tengan was using. He also stabbed Chisa with a random sword, and I don't know why at all. I am incredibly hyped, since we're seeing everyone come together for the big finale. And most exciting of all, HAJIME IS BACK! The happiness of seeing him back is enough to overpower all the sadness of the rest of the episode, to be honest.

My thoughts are exactly!

Sorry if this already has been mentioned in a diff thread from previous episodes...
I just wanted to add though is that Gozu's body and Chisa's are ALSO missing the knife! Bringing my thoughts to the idea the Killer uses the same knife for each killing. So as soon as everyone falls asleep the Killer goes to grab the knife from the last dead body and takes it to the next body.

Thus more probability Izayoi's death, as you mentioned, isn't like the others. End of last episode we saw the knife in Seiko's body so whenever they began to awaken (probably Ruruka) took the knife from Seiko's body and stabbed Izayoi to make it look like it wasn't them. I agree with the person that mentioned that Ruruka was probably trying to feed Izayoi to wake him up and just killed him on accident.

If u said the previous corpse: Chisa's, Gozu's, and then Seiko's is always have a wound.. and a missing weapon. In episode 5, as we knew munakata (or precisely the actual attacker) probably killed Seiko-- also with that monokuma knife.. They might have pull out the knife after killing the victim. And then if u deduce izayoi's killer.. How the current position knife attached on Izayoi's chest? I'm so confuse ohoho

Damn now I'm sooo curious about that monokuma knife, floating murder style, juzo's sudden missing!!
We did this every day that summer. There wasn’t a day we missed.

Yep, I got that ~ So what I thought was, if the 4 survivors still have their memories as remnants of despair, I think that being able to remember all the horrible things they did in the past would make it easier to fall into despair again. Even if they try to hold onto the hope Naegi gave them, it must be easy for one to lose their mind in the situation they are - with their memories and most of their friends in a coma with very little chance of ever waking up.

But again... I don't want to be right. lol And it would be interesting to see Hinata/Kamukura being his always-bored Kamukura self, but somehow with still some hope inside him.

Also, this theory still could hold water:

However it's still flimsy as Tengan is dead...and I don't really believe him as the traitor in the first place. I could see co-conspirator but not the direct attacker. I'm hoping it's not true because it means Asahina will die, and I honestly don't mind Juzo much anymore after Asahina schooled him with a pipe. But he could still be a major dick later so no definite claims on him yet.
Someone else said the real reason Tengan's sprite is different from the rest is because he was killed by neither the traitor nor his forbidden action, but by Munakata himself

Maybe it was already said but I don't remember it so I put this here :
For the moment all the dead people move in a direction according to their death The one whos died at night are facing right (Gozu, Chisa and Seiko) so it mean that Keicho will probably die by the attacker and I hope Asahina is facing right because the had a fake death.

Then Daisaku face left and died by his forbidden action and Sonosuke face the same direction plus we believe he died in the same way, that would mean Juzo will do his NG action.

Finally Tengan is the only one being killed directly by someone else and the only one looking behind so no other death by "true" mutual killing.

Well the biggest argument against your assumption is that we saw Hajime Hinata in the epilog of the game. Not Izuru with his long hair and black suit. Also i doubt the ingame monolog in his mind about the future is fake. He himself said it. He will live on as Hajime Hinata because he has his memory back as Hajime and the NWP. He faces the truth of his deeds as Izuru.
Nor hope nor despair. Just moving forward to his future he fought for.
So he is still Izuru/Hajime. He has the red eyes because he is both/his body is still the body of Izuru becasue the experiment on his body is not undone.

The "This is so boring" one-liner is just his catchphrase^^. He has still all this talent. Also he remembers now both Chiaki`s. AI Chiaki and the real one. So this is also a pretty big symbolic what happened overall in the DR2 story.

It just keeps getting better and better. I am sad Seiko died and kind of happy rurua is feeling the pain of lost since she treated Seiko like shit.
I haven't updated in years but now I have changed that. I'll be free soon.

I don't think that it's fair. They commited various crimes when in despair. People die by their hands, people are hurt because of them, they need to pay for this. Is the right thing.

So, If Junko is alive and rehabilitated, you don't arrest her because of her crimes? Or kill her?

Junko is a special case. She wasn't corrupted by anybody: her entire nature is completely defined by her despair obsession. The idea that she could be rehabilitated is incredibly far-fetched, if not impossible.

The Remnants of Despair, on the other hand, are victims of her brainwashing. They were not in their right minds as Ultimate Despair - they were little more than Junko's mindless puppets. Slaughtering a group of teenagers for crimes they committed under the influence of brainwashing isn't justice. At best, it's a necessity to prevent them from hurting more people. At worst, it's an atrocity fueled by a bloodthirsty desire for misplaced vengeance.

I mean, come on, you wouldn't you explode the Monokuma Kids in DR: Another Episode because "they need to pay for their crimes." The genocide in Towa City may have come about by their hands, but the only reason they did so is because they had been brainwashed by Monaca - they weren't in their right minds. The only real difference between the two situations is that the Remnants of Despair are a bit older than the Monokuma Kids.
Important Note: I no longer - in any way, shape, or form - consider myself a moral nihilist (even in my old, convoluted definition of the term). I very much do believe there is such a thing as objective good and evil. In addition, I apologize for any of the posts I've made that are rude, aggressive, or otherwise unbecoming.

I've always striven to walk a path befitting a follower of Christ, and now recognize some of my old comments here as misguided if not outright wrong. If you happen upon them, pray do not let them darken your view of the God I serve. He is kind, even if I, at times, have not been.

Well, I love them as characters but I'm realistic, they commit crimes before and need to pay for this. It's the rule of the World and in Danganronpa is the same. They are good now? Yes, but the crimes continue to exist. :(

If there is anything that DanganRonpa universe lacks is fairness... Even without the Tragedy things were already rotten in their own way. A lot of the background story of the warriors of hope proved this beyond reasonable bounds.

The future of the remnants of despair will fall under the new leader of the Future Foundation whether we like it or not. It has been stated that the killing game is not being broadcasted, and so their whereabouts and even their status is known to the public. So if the remnants survive that attack Munakata sent them and Naegi manages to snatch the position of leader at the end chances are they will live. Togami and Kyoko already let him have it his way, so unless someone above him ignores his will then they could be spared.

Naegi did try to stop Junko from killing herself also. So he might have. Also, them dying doesn't necessary make up for what they did. That would be like saying 'oh, let's destroy this many lives and then kill myself' which is what Junko did. If they are back to being despair remnants they would just enjoy it like she did... So in your logic of making them pay for their crimes wouldn't locking them up until they die of natural cause be better than having them die?? And the entire future side i about the foundation itself having different opinions on the 'they committed crimes we have to kill them' issue.

This too. We still don't know how much Junko messed with their heads. Naegi is convinced that she is to blame for how they became, and while they do need some form of punishment to say they all deserve death is as extremist as Munakata's 'Naegi kill yourself for hope' argument. The way I see it, danganropna's law system are worse than ace attorney's...

Is it Hajime? Or is it Izuru? That question will linger for the rest of this anime.

I think Ruruka finally understands why Seiko didn't want to eat her sweets because she would die.

She probably got tired of Izayoi refusing her sweets and force fed him when was asleep. Saw she killed him and set it up to look as if he was a victim because she was guilty.

Probably feels bad because her sweets ended up killing two people ultimately.

I'm actually really happy that they are tying in the despair girls game/plot with this anime. I always wanted to see how they were going to pull that game together with everything else since it kinda just felt like an outside plot thing. I'm happy to see where Komaru goes, I wanna see both girls kick some butt again. I'm also kind of terrified of what Izuru will do, I'm curious to see this Hinata/Izuru personality since it seems like hes in the middle of both. Good episode overall! O:

Well in world where madman run Amok on a daily basis killing people and the "normal" people dont even care/react anymore because this is the "normal" of this age is messed up. Where only big terror attacks are counted as "evil" or a thing to freak out it is not normal at all.
I mean Komaru in the UDG prolog perfectly states how it came to this. People just ignored the badshit insanity that happened around them. Heck even Komaru tried to ignore it even if half of her class was killed day by day in daily accidents^^.
And even the war`s that broke out had no real reason and at one point it was war for the sake of war.
So yes indeed there is no real "law" anymore expect the Future Foundation and Towa city was safe because Monoaca at point didnt want to wreck her own territory/domain after all Junko was at that point alive and she mass produced her the monokuma army.

This episode was so AWESOME, the best one so far.

I did NOT expect Izayoi to die, that was so surprising. Ruruka...I don't believe her at all, lmao, I mean...there's blood under Izayoi's eye and Kyoko discovered white powder on him (probably sugar), that's more than enough proof ot say that she's at least VERY suspicious. Someone here said maybe Chisa is the actual traitor since she wanted to protect her former students; that is one interesting theory, I wonder what'll happen! I loved how many more characters appeared, so happy to see Togami, Koharu and Touko!! More than ever, I'm dying to know what the hell Tengan told Munakata, the suspense is killing me xD As regards Munakata stabbing Chisa...mmm, I can interpret it 2 ways: either he wanted to make sure she's dead because she's the real traitor, or he made it as a sort of "farewell ceremony" (if that makes sense). I was sad to see that the true Miaya was killed :'c and hopefully Monaca is caught by Koharu and Touko!!!

Btw, I think the "10 survivors" at the opening must have been an error. Also, about the theory of the characters walking sideways and all that...what about Munakata standing on his left foot unlike the others? Is there a theory for that yet?

Finally...the last scene with Hinata opening his eye and revealing he's actually Izuru MADE. ME. LOSE. MY. SHIT. I really hope he hasn't reverted 100% to Izuru and it's just that both personalities live within him or sth (maybe a split personality like Genocyder?).

Aaaaahhh, can't wait to watch the next one!!! Really excited for this Thursday, hoping Izuru finally makes a proper appearance instead of just his eyes.

I don't know if you guys are either ignoring it or something...

But Nanami Chiaki is dead. She's the one person that I am 100% sure is dead.

Hinata wanted to become a better person for Nanami, that's the truth. He said it himself many times. Now. How do you break someone's spirit?

Killing Chiaki. Obviously. She's dead.

Also. The traitor is Gekkogahara, right? She's dead and Towa Monaca is controlling her... She's the attacker/traitor...

Is there someone else?

I don't think she's the attacker/traitor. The mastermind behind this, sure, but I do think there's someone else as being the attacker/traitor.

I have a question. Why do people like Kirigiri? I'm not disrespecting those that do, it just seems she is pretty much loved by everybody and I can't really see why. I've played both of the main games, watched all anime adaptation episodes and yet I really don't care for her.

That's why I wasn't really bothered when she showed up dead and was kind of disappointed when she wasn't. Not trying to hate, just wondering why she is universally loved?

She has nice booty, that's why.

But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

I bet that Yoi was killed by his psychotic girlfriend. I can't imagine him letting anyone close enough to do that other than that little fuck.

I squealed like a piglet when they showed Byakuya on the screen D: I fucking missed that bastard! I got excited when Jabberwock Island was mentioned too. So many feels.

Makoto's little sister is pretty cute and hot. It's nice seeing her animated, I never paid attention to her in the first series when they showed her briefly. I haven't played/seen Ultra Despair Girls so it's my first time seeing her up close.

feels quite messy/rushed. So 4 dead bodies revealed to the cast. Gekko was expected.
Seiko & Oldman inspected (ya right Monaka decides Oldman died by Munakata katana just from surveillance cam, hope Naegi's not that dense & picks up the suspicious assertion)
Also assuming Naegi's doing bad acting to throw off Monaka or someone else (or just consistently annoying va since D1). Unfortunately animator kun is imitating that annoying part. And Naegi could question why Monaka didn't try connecting for help earlier. Dialup modem sfx was funny, she could rise to best grill if she could remove three annoying characters, but one's a cockaroach.
Archer was surprising. Only left eye has blood, right is clean, Kirigiri finds white powder. Guessing Monaka had to kill him since he found a secret door, maybe leading to her console. But Byakuya says she's in Towa.
Nice to see old faces Byakuya & Fukawa. Dont recall but read other girl is Naegi's sister.
