Dang, I feel kinda bad for Emilio and Shun this episode. The way they're being intimidated by Demetrio and Louise really makes them feel helpless.

The mystery thickens even more regarding the two worlds that Shun experienced. In the meantime, I odn't think Emilio and Shun's relationship is getting any better. They were never the best of friends from the start...almost more like bitter rivals.

That Ignauts party is pretty chill, I already like the Robin Hood leader, the girl, and the knife guy, not that much fan of the trap so far.

I still feel bad how they left that poor girl alone in the cave, luckly Pascal found her on time.

That ending tho, that's how real men duke it out.

Well, this anime still feels boring, especially since the characters aren't likable.

The pace feels so weird, with a pretty boring story to match, doesn't help that all the characters feel stiff and unlikable.

At least with the Ignauts guys some interesting chars joined. Glad I dropped Seisen Cerberus (all chars annoying/boring) in favor for this show.

Demetrio guy seems cool. Reminded me (because of the hat) a bit of Mattalast from Book of Bantorra. (That guy also was cool.)

Let's see if Emiliio is going to tell them his reasons for wanting to kill the king. There might be some story/action with bigger group fights now that they are working with the Ignauts guys + king which sent his guys.

Also Pascal + girl still out there with their ship and Pascal might be able to help with technological stuff and weapons.

Pacing is okay so far - for a 24 episodes show. Good enough and not boring.

The show is not amazing but its interesting how the main characters will change in the future. Shun's extremely optimistic, trusting personality always clashes with Emilio's anti-social, angsty personality. If the vision that Eljuia seems like it will foreshadow that Shun's return will not be a happy event. I think the reason why many people don't like the show because the presentation doesn't have the dopamine roller coaster element that a lot of modern anime have.

An episode about the Ignauts' characteristics and lifestyle. Foreshadowing of Shun's future. Hmm... hope Shun's relationship with Emilio will get better in later episodes.

Oh no, not more trap. White hair, beautiful-looking, polite way of talking and yet men's voice?l
Isn't it about time, already? Finally Emilio got lectured twice, total in this episode about why he can't kill Delzaine earlier.

I'm alright with most of the characters EXCEPT for the main characters. Shun is just a dumbass, and Emilio acts like he's on his period all the time. The Ignauts seem pretty chill though.

Oh god, that fight at the end. Are there some kind of martial art in that world in which it's forbidden to defend yourself and you must block every punches with your face? The choreography was awful. Over all, it's still boring and the characters haven't grew any better. I know it's a 24 eps long show, but the plot should go at least somewhere. This episode focused on the 2 MC-s and we still didn't get to know or like them any better. The most memorable part of this series so far is the eyecatch from episode 3 which is ridiculous. This is the 3rd drop this season.

The future foresight used as a teaser for what will probably be the mid-series big moment, nothing original but at least it's effective. Looking at Kizunaiver, it's all pretty and shiny but it is only 13 eps long and I have absolutely no idea of what this is all about... one might argue that it is the beauty of such a show but this really isn't good for a half-length one. On the other hand, Endride is not a big blast but I feel like I am following a story and they even lined out a direction.
The problem with visions of future is the possibility they exploit it too much. I heard many complaints about this in other shows, where the characters were always saved thnks to opportune revelations/sixth sense. (I personally have nothing against it)

There is nothing good that makes the show stand out, but there is actually nothing bad either. I was able to enjoy most of the full Mushiking series and Endrides seems to be nothing less. (that doesn't make them recommendable to people used to japanese TV animation)

You know what that foresight tell to me? Probably at some point of the show Shun gets home and someone dies (or at least he think so) during the process. If I'd have to guess, I'd say it's Alicia. Why? Because it's cliché enough scenario which suits a generic anime like this. Even if I'm wrong, it couldn't build up any curiosity in me, because I don't give a shit about the characters.

And I think it's bad that the characters are paper thin, they couldn't show any depth in 4 episode, and you (I) can't connect to them at any level. 4 episodes is almost one fifth of the anime.

@Heldengeist Very good reason. Indeed, there is no curiosity to develop thanks to the very generic type of the story.
About the characters, I am aware of it. But I didn't think I was supposed to relate to them in any fashion (those kind of occasions are very rare in stories, no?)
Also, I was only answering to the "I don't know where it's going", the fact it is a big recycling bin is enough (like you said) to guess a large chunk of it (even without the clear goals)

edit: why "traP" instead of " traVesty" ?

I know this is getting a lot of hate but honestly I'm enjoying it, and the pacing is completely fine for a 24 ep anime so I don't know why people are complaining unless they think it's 12 eps but even then it wouldn't be bad.

This is a solid 7/10 for me, it may only be ep 4 but I'm pretty sure it's gonna stick on 7 because while I do enjoy it it's not worthy of 8

Both Emilio and Shun are so damn annoying as main characters. They argue like brats with each other and don't try to sort it out like adults (they're supposed to be over 16 years old, aren't they?). I hoped that one would die in the fight at the end, but whatever. Maybe there will be some interesting episodes later on.

Shun is alright, naive and whiny, ok, I can deal with that. He manages to get along with people pretty well.

But Emilio, holy crap what is wrong with this guy? Did anyone else notice that the whole conversation at the beginning basically went like this: "So you want to kill the king? Why? You won't say? What will you do afterward? You haven't thought about it? Can you fight well? No? Wtf is wrong with you dude?"

Seriously, being angsty angry and shit all the time without a break is annoying, but the worst part is that he just refused to explain this shit to anyone ever.

Is it really so hard to just tell these people, "I want to kill him because x" and they can all just move on with their lives instead of days or weeks of everyone getting hung up on the one asshole who really just can't manage to articulate why he is attempting regicide.

Also the fight at the end was terrible. Blocking a punch is a thing you can physically do you know.

And the trap wasn't a trap, he doesn't look remotely like a woman.

I love the new characters though. People who actually have their heads on straight, it's amazing.

But then there's Pascal. "We can't rebuild Babel and connect the two worlds! Why? Because... I have no idea! We just can't!"

So far I'm siding with Delzain in this whole clusterfuck of a story. I'm guessing they'll get around to explaining that he's the villain because he wants to conquer the surface/destroy the world/something warp particle related eventually. Until then, his position makes the most sense in all this.

I usually don't mind slow pacing. It's fine as long as it's beneficial somehow - we get to know, understand the characters or the world better. I did not mind it much in Hai to Gensou no Grimgor, even if anime itelf was not impressing, but here I am - bored. Again. :|
It's fine to watch it while doing something else, but nothing more.

I can't stand Shun. When I first saw him in episode 1 I thought "Hey a decent rock obsessed main, no prob."
It all went down when he was transported to the other world and became one of the dumbest mains I've seen.

And it gets worse, and worse, and worse.

Yea so Spoiler alert this if it ends up true but As of episode 3 I have a theory on the plot...

I'd bet that they're actually full or half brothers.

I'll even go as far as to say that Delzaine is a good guy actually. Perhaps Shun's dad excaped to the surface through Babel that one time it was briefly opened as mentioned in ep 3. I think Delzaine knew that and is not looking for his brother or something and that is why he is so obsessed with the babylon. Or maybe Shun's mom was his love interest or something.

Also Emilio is frustrating and Shun is being annoying.
I'm excited to see if this plays out
