| Starting this! So Britannia and Japan are enemies so to speak. Britannia has basically invaded Japan and are already taking it for themselves (watching others as terrorists who attack them in some form). Lelouch, i can tell, he's a smart guy and he got a power from that green-haired girl which makes him control people. I really liked this first episode, already into the action. I think, this power could easily manipulate him into a bad guy though. |

| Didn't like the OP song. I don't catch a interest in this series because of lot of difficult to understand words. Hey. I guess Lelouch IQ is extremely high as shown on chess game. What interested me was when Lelouch got a power and commanded them to kill themselves. What a OverPowered ability. ED song is well fit for this show. It gives me a shiver on my spine. |

| After stalling this series for the longest, I finally decided to give this a shot since I kept hearing many goods things about it. Not a bad start at all, interested in seeing how Lelouch handles his new found power. But i gotta say, the character design in this show is garbage, probably the primary reason I was reluctant to start this but I'll bear with it. One last thing, that OP is godlike! |

| So I heard they're making a third season. So I'm finally getting around to watching Code Geass. I saw the first episode awhile ago. And I was struck then and now by what an immediately engaging beginning this series has. It has a common first episode problem of lingering unanswered questions to create mystery for the show. I.E. the true nature of C.C. as well as Lelouch is identity. And Code Geass has a surprisingly complicated plot and world. But it's easy enough to get behind. Genius strategist is given cool powers to help aid a resistance against the tyrannical regime ruling over his people. Excited to see where this series goes. |

| I’ve known C.G. for years, but so many things stoped me from giving it a shot. First of all, mecha is never my type of thing. Besides, the characters are all skinny in a weird way with wrong proportion. Seriously, what’s wrong with CLAMP’s artwork after X? And I’m really not a fan of those Lelouch x Suzaku shipping from some fanbase. That could be kinda annoying when it comes to a non-BL anime. Actually, I watched ep#1 a few years ago and it’s so not appealing to me. But I finally decided to give it another try cuz one of my favorite youtube vloggers started doing the live reaction on this series. I’m now at ep#19 and so far it seems to be very promising. Quite confident that I can finish it this time. Now that I think about it, the ep#1 I watched years ago might be the wrong one. IIRC, it’s different from what I watched recently. Anyways, this ep was OK. At least I was interested to see what’s next. BTW, it was even earlier when I first heard the ED song. I thought it was very weird. But now I think it fits the show quite well and I love it. Guess the passing of time really changes people. |

Now Lelouch is stuck in the truck. lol Dat Pizza Hut sign on the highway. Oh my god! My heart! Kallen is beautiful. Could she be the waifu of all waifu's that I have been looking for? Oh my god! Her oppai are on point as well! I'm in love. lol at Rivalz yelling for Lelouch so they can go to school. WTF! LMAO at that dudes spin kick on Lelouch. Oh, snap! It's Suzaku. It's that woman from 7 years ago. Damn. Kallen is so fine. Suzaku got shot! Nagata had a family. Oh, shit! The grandparents! Damn. They killed a baby. Headshot! Lelouch has obtained power. The power to order people to kill themselves? Awesome. I thought he was Lelouch Lamperouge? What's this "Vi Britannia"? They even called him highness before shooting themselves. Dat smile! What an amazing first episode. Amazing OP by FLOW. JIBUN WO!!! Amazing ED by Ali Project. Dat nipple in the ED. It's been 9 years since I first watched CG. I had originally planned to rewatch on its 10th anniversary date last year, but my better judgment told me not to...for reasons. Also, the setting is in 2017, so I thought this was better. It is now time for me to rewatch it. |

| This episode did a good job setting up Britannia as the bad guys...even killing a sweet elderly couple. :( I wasn't really enthralled until the very end, where Lelouch's magic new power creates a bloodbath. The image of an innocent schoolboy in front of a bunch of corpses suddenly metamorphosing with a wicked smile was pretty badass and got me excited to see more of this. |

| Quite promising, this looks like it mixes together various trends in order to be "cool" and based on this first episode, it works. Enough to go beyond the ugly post-90s CLAMP chara-design who is extremely stylized. And the important characters all look like (young) models. -_-" Let's hope the over-dramatization gets toned down past the 1st episode. It's understandable here to hook people but it would become rapidly annoying. Of course, the hero is "the Chosen One" (based on the prologue). edit: It's incredible to see how a generation can embrace something the previous ones would have resented immensely. I'm talking about this caricature of a situation: the poor innocent japanese people oppressed by the evil Americans occupying their country. It's not as pronounced than the ConRevo episode by Urobuchi but still... I certainly hope it doesn't wander too far in this realm. 3.5-/5 The need of teenagers everywhere has better to be explained. Quite sad. ^^" @Orikasa_Momiji Clamp's style didn't look really wrong yet in Cardcaptor (mid-90s/2000), the big change came when they switch roles definitively at Chobits time. anamnesis said: So this series was made by CLAMP? Actually, most of the pilots are adults, though the main rival duo are 17 so they're not far off. Better than Gundam almost always using people age 13-15. |

| It definitely hooked me and I'm very satisfied by all the political concepts. I do however wish we got a little bit more of a glimpse into what Lelouch is like beyond his hero-ness. |

So, the story follows Lelouch who is shown to have a wasteful life by gambling as opposed to his vigorous younger self who swore to destroy Britannia. He seems to be living a fake life as a Britannian and is chided for it by the general. Hence his statement as to what a Britannian who hates Britannia should do. One of the unaddressed points of the show is the existence of Ragnares, alluded by Charles in the end. It won't matter much though. As to the first episode, the story contrasts a violent history with the normal life of Lelouch, and when he tries to rebel against society(as shown by his willingness to enter the truck when no one else would), he is haunted by his past again(as shown by Suzaku confronting him and dying soon after, along with getting in the middle of the Britannian-Eleven war). He is thrown back into uncharted territory once again, but this time, blessed with an unusual commanding power, he decides to cast aside his lies surrounding him(namely his fake life, his fake name(Lelouch Lamperouge as compared to Lelouch vi Britannia) and his fake career. If you observe the ending change of his face, it is not like a hero who has obtained a new responsibility. It is more typical of a villain, who has got a bad power and yearns for revenge. You will see him becoming more typical of a villain than a hero, despite fighting for the right cause. Doesn't diminish his awesomeness though. |

| Hm, I've seen episodes here and there but never sat down to watch this. It's a pretty average start, though the OP is good. I'm mostly watching it since GBF is doing a cross over event with CG sometime this year. |
