| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Episode was tense. I really like the pacing so far this season mid-way with the invasion and the pilots. The Aracdia Project also is taking its steps forward. Action the mecha is nice too and I find the coordination of the pilots to be well done. Again though, the battle struggles the pilots faces really brings out a darker side to the story. Loved the underwater fight this episode too..what a risky move! |

| This episode was so intense. This one of the most nail biting episodes of the season. My Kaburagi Sui! Also lol at Canon still being around. |

| Wow...I didn't expect Kouyou to come back of all people, but he's not using an Einherjar model so I'm not sure how effective he'll be in combat. And Hiroto is alive? Wat. Kenji and Sakura finally married which means they're fair game to bite the dust or not. Anything goes with Fafner. |

He didn't, he was turned into a Slave type festum at the first season. THAT was totally unexpected, from all the characters this series had until now I couldn't expect to see this one showing up again, that was really interesting. I thought that Kouyou just got crystalized or something like that... in the first series when Kazuki's mother showed up on the island, he turned into a blue festum. He appeared in the movie as a core though anyway Akira speaking with Hiroto is creepy... I guess that means he was crossing with Hiroto who has returned to the island's Gordion Crystal? Same with how Kanon conversed with Kenji. and wait, Miwa's mother isn't a fake? okay... Man I really love this series so much! I hate myself for seeing the wedding as a deathflag. Pls survive, Kenji and Sakura, and make healthy babies. Kouyo added to the ending  |

| OOOOOOOH SHIIT, fuck yeah my nigga kouyo coming back to save the day just like in the movie, i was really worried the plan was going to fail before then This series is soul crushing but thankfully we have this one hopeful episode, it think everything on the island will turn out fine, its the away mission with kazuki and the rest that im scarred of. flamerounin said: Not even close, kouyo was assimiliated with the festum in season 1 which is why hes able to return like in the movie and this, hes merged with the island's mir but he never outright died like kanon, hiroto, or shouko. Wait, does that mean that all those who died due to assimilation (including Kouyo and Canon) can be revived? However cause everyone who dies does return to the mir is kind of hopeful that their consciousness is still ever present in it which is kind of shown a few times in the series and also this ep with kanon touching kenji's hand. its still sad they are gone but at least they establish an afterlife of sorts, i wonder if any other dead characters will cameo, i imagine shouko might. |
