I can't take this much of HNGGGGG! This anime is too goood!!! Yune is cutteeeeee!
Should have picked this up the time when it is aired! A girl you never met before calls you Master, let's say it is not Claude and the Master is me, I would also get goosebumps every time she calls me Master. Nice portrayal of a normal human there.
Respect for Claude as for now! I initially thought he would get very angry and scold Yune... but instead he's like cool and calm, holy! The plot twist really got me: Yune actually understands the France language.
Now, we know that someday(Later episode) Claude will get the Kimono back and watch Yune's reaction at that time!

Claude was quick to apologize, and I appreciate that.
Most characters are too stubborn and hold onto their anger.

...I need a drink.

It's not that this show is good or bad. Hell, I don't even drink alcohol. Yet, I for some reason, I need something strong to get me through this.

Anyways, the most immediate problem I see is how she can't speak or understand French, but everyone is speaking Japanese. Understandably, this is so the Japanese viewers can understand, but that's gonna bug me. On the flip side, the OST in Junichi Satou's works have yet to disappoint me and it's still great here. It's as tranquil as ever.

I watched for the cute girl, it delivered. Hopefully it can get away from using cheap tricks for drama though.

Does anyone knows why Yune started to work at her young age?

Does her family have any debt or something from her master?

Perhaps nowadays it would be a different story. It would no doubt be more questioned and opposed by those who were aware of the situation and were around the character/person who did it (Oscar in this case) or the main character would be unlikely to be a person to do it in the first place. But the series is set in the late 19th century. In the late 1800s, whether in France or Japan, there would have been far less stringent to no (depending on what specifically we're talking about) laws and regulations in place regarding child labor and such, less means of surveillance as no digital tracking, recording cameras, databases, computer networks, etc. to monitor human traffic across international borders, and so even smuggling a person in illegally could be more easily accomplished and explained away - especially as a plot device. There are ways it could be done legally/legitimately, and even if done secretively, it would be easy to believe it wasn't that difficult to pull off.

Basically, in the world of this time period and especially in the setting of this time period in this story specifically, there are minimal practical barriers to do so, so why not? It wouldn't be as cumbersome from a legal standpoint as modern-day.
