That felt slow for first half but I liked the pacing of the remaining parts of the episode in particular with the magic. Seems like the girls are improving with their abilities. My favorite parts when they were riding in the darkness of the sky towards the moon.

Moments like that were just classic. And the friendship/teamwork of this series was cute too.

Yui-chan's character as main this ep. She is showing no interest to the poster, which is related to her father She does have a perfect pitch, though, from pianist father who is a foreigner.

Outer space and found the fragment. Planet with sweet? Her father played piano for them (his daughter specifically). She and the main girl got a chance to be alone to get to know each other. Her first time to shed tear in front of others. Finally a proper ED clip.

That long black hair girl as main next?

This time the fragment is in outer space which is on the moon.

A planet with sweet, that's a good one.

This was the first time introducing about the other girl's home and I was a bit surprised at this part. A girl studying music was not very special but it seemed to me she and her parents were much higher than average people.

That's not how space works.

And they can breathe (and talk) in space but not underwater.

And with that, I am beginning to like Hikaru the most.

It would be nice to get an episode dedicated to each of the girls.

So let me get this straight: they can breathe perfectly fine in space, but not in water? Where's the logic?

Other than that, the Minato mystery continues and we got some nice character development for one of the other characters, which is something this series has really lacked until now. It was a bit clunky in places, but it is a promising step forwards at least.

About Gliese 581C and the other planets. They seem to be not Jupiter like planets but similar to the Earth and some scientists expect one or more of their orbits are in the habitable zone like the Earth.

Yet once again, Subaru meets Minato incidentally. They really need to explain how exactly their meetup works. Are they bound by fate or something?

Even for busy parents, Hikaru's mom and dad haven't been doing parenting right. They were practically holding their conversation via whiteboard on the refrigerator. Would it have killed them to take a day off to spend some quality family time with their daughter?

Hikaru's little backstory was pretty nice though. I guess it's understandable now why she always avoided going all the way with books/music.

How did the magic circle formed by Subaru and Hikaru connect Minato too? Left unexplained, he was blown away by the impact while the girls were unscathed. So unfair..

Decent episode nonetheless. Hikaru looks great in the eyecatch!

When a honest person filled with integrity says something unbelievable, it somehow becomes more believable than anything else.

A pretty nice episode focusing on Hikaru. Her parents are pretty nice too to believe in their daughter unconditionally like that, I mean, there is nothing to lose after all. The moments in the moon along with her dad's song was great.

About the cakes on the moon... This episode reminded me of a statement "The Moon is made of green (or cream) cheese."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Moon_is_made_of_green_cheese

There are a lot of fables and myths about the moon in Japan but as for the moon story related to cheese, it is not from Japanese traditional culture. It is a very old story and is believed that it was firstly written in a book somewhere in Europe sometime around 1500's, though Japanese people heard it no longer than 150 years ago.
These days, variations of the fable is sometimes used in Japanese animations and mangas for children because, you know, Japanese love sweet and cheesy stories.
(Don't believe me. I love raw fishy stories, too.)

Holy shit, given that they got to the moon in about 5 minutes, and accounting for it's distance from Earth, they achieved a speed of 4-6 million Km/H.
Also, given that next episode they'll seemingly be going to Saturn, they'll either be warping there, or going faster (twice+) than the speed of light to get there under an hour! They've sure have come a long way from flying around the city and near the sea.

Either way, this episode has been the best one so far (mostly in part by Hikaru's back-story). The next one should be fun too.

This was actually pretty a great episode. The story seemed a bit childish to me, but it was pretty sweet and tugged at my feels a bit.

Glad that we're gonna get some back story to the other two girls left as well.

Wonder if we're gonna get some for Minato or if they're just gonna keep it the same as the OVAs

Visuals amazing, can't say it often enough. And there even was some backstory included in this which was somewhat decent.

A bit overdue viewing but much better episode, very surprising as I had lost all hope with this series and was pulling the last straw. It still felt a bit rushed and cliched but it was in the most part delivered beautifully. Hikaru is very likable.

The less the garden and the antagonist appear the better. Every second of their appearance is cringeworthy.

Though this episode was good, I suspect it will end as a one-off and have no impact on the main storyline(if it exists), as it felt a lot detached from the main storyline which was presented until now. Hope it will not be and more of this please.

And yes, the eyecatches are outstanding.

An episode really rich moe, besides being also very nice in the narrative.
I must say it did not convince me at first, but the great work done is crucial, making it very pleasant, now even more.
Drawings very well finished, animations that discrete and excellent soundtrack.
Another very nice feature is the color design, I can not wait to savor the next episode.

Ah, that was a nice episode. Hikaru's backstory was handled surprisingly well, although those tears at the end were overdoing it a little.

I was worried there for a minute that it was going to go down the long and unforgiving road of full on drama, but I'm glad they chose not to as it was the balance between drama and comedy that turned this into quite a heartwarming episode. It also helps that I'm starting to get used to this fractured pacing. Hopefully Subaru gets some development soon as she's the only character I'm not feeling at the moment, but Hikaru was great here. The dream sequence was especially nice and that starry space they're going for is really lovely.

First of all, this is a mahou-shoujo (!!!) anime. Please don't take the science stuff too seriously, aka "why can they breath in space?", or "there's no sound in space".

IMO, that was a 10/10 episode. I never thought that this anime was going to be so deep on drama (even for a bit). Hikaru's backstory was incredibly touching.

"The Moon was delicious, wasn't it?"

Magical girls, candy stars and piano music. <3

This is episode is about Hikaru, aka miss yellow:

I like the direction this anime is going towards. This show is turning out to be quite the relaxing one, and I'd say it's headed in the right direction. Now I'm imagining what if One Off had a TV series. I think I'm going to look forward to the next episode. No qualms about the lack of scientific accuracy or whatever, this show never pretended that its sciences/physics were realistic unlike others. Looking at you, AZ.

Nice piano piece. Character episode of eyebrow girl well paced & really gives Hikaru some depth, even though not necessary for a mahou shojo. Magic circle boosting was quite cool with the colorful visuals. Like the eyecatch, it's one of few shows this season where art's really notable.

I could really touch base with Hikaru this episode, a majority of my life was spent doing things partway, never seeing anything all the way through in fear of how I'd feel once they're completed. This was a really cute episode and...seriously, the moon? How awesome is that.
