| Blue Fleet got caught with their pants down. This is one of the few times where it actually made sense for a person to speed off to the enemy to delay them. Usually it ends up being a pointless sacrifice but this time it was called for. It also looks like saving that fish girl paid off. |
| Honestly, Blue Fleet should of plotted this a lot better. They were doing well in the beginning but then fucked up. |

| I was pretty annoyed with Hayami for the first part of the episode, and Zorndyke seemed a bit much. At the end, everything suddenly made more sense though. I do also have to say I really liked the weird scenes with the mutants. |
| still feeling so so about this, though I'll admit this episode was a lot less frustrating to watch than the first. I'm still finding it hard to care about the characters though and the CG action scenes are still pretty boring to me. Also did they just kill off everyone but the main protagonist in just the second episode? Sigh... |

| OK I've got a good grasp on the show, CGI isn't used as much as it was in the first episode. Quite disturbing in places with that mutant guy basically going berserk and the fact that he WAS very much being creepy with Mutio there. Again really loving the soundtrack for this. A great episode once again. |
| So the beastmen are former humans? That explains why they're so varied in design, and why they're so unstable. Zorndyke has a hell of a budget. Whatever metal his ships are made of puts the seemingly advanced human military base to shame, even though said ships look rusted and corroded. |

| There's too much CGI- I cannot believe I'm complaining about CGI on an anime from 1998 I'll also complain about how ridiculously cartoonish the monsters are, especially that talking shark! Like if these guys were more mysterious and scary, and not so GOOFY it would work a lot better. That Zorndyke guy is kind of cliche, but is mysterious enough to be an interesting villain. It looks like he's somewhere tropical, wonder if they're trying to find out where he is? He's not on Antarctica clearly. The whole conflict with Hayami and that "old buddy" military guy felt very Top Gun- "You're responsible for what happened to him!" because Hayami is "selfish" and other dude is so clean cut. Oh lord. Looks like the fleet got blown away- and along comes the sea creature girl, she's very intriguing. Maybe Hayami's kindness about to be repaid? 3/5 just animation, 5/5 cool factor |
