| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Beautiful episode. I really liked the way the snow was depicted with the Winter atmosphere. It looks like an inspector makes his appearance so Kaito's got his hands full again. Gotta love that glider though. He should probably avoid flying in that weather. Anyways, I liked the little tricks he pulls off against his pursuers as usual. Seriously, when will they ever learn.. The ending made lol a bit. |

| Introducing the detective guy (Mamo), he's womanizer but smarter than rest of police officers (and more knowledgeable). Start of detective guy vs. Kaito Kid? lol~ they don't know they are next bed together?! The challenge is... draw? She ended up going to the concert with her father, who fell asleep. Witch girl appears next! |

| this is hands down my favorite episode so far *^* the ep is awesome, funny and more true to the manga. the older magic kaito special that was base on this episode cut scenes & added an unnecessary character that wasn't even in the manga] i love seeing kaito vs hakuba moments <3 i love this version so much better! |

| Great show! Liked the episode. Why did they change Hakuba's voice actor? I mean, I love Mamoru Miyano as much as Ishida Akira, but I saw no need for them to switch seiyuus though... |
| I really like these episodes where Kaito is going up against an intelligent detective like Hakuba or Conan. Really good ep. uzee said: This is why I liked the old anime better: Yeah, the noses just seem a bit too big. I never really paid any attention to them in Detective Conan or the Magic Kaito specials but they are starting to become distracting..... |

| Hakuba vs Kaito! Hakuba destroying all means of escape and Kaito chooses to fly in such a weather. It was quite funny with the Inspector's judgement! Hakuba knowing Kaito would go from the basement! That was quite close. He even chained the statue! Enjoyed Kaito flying off xD Aoko cheering at Kaito kid's appearance! |

| Phantom Thief vs Detective. This was very amusing. Hakuba was a formidable opponent. Kaito just outsmarted him during the gas mask grab. I'm guessing they will soon cross paths again. |
| OMG that ending made me laugh harder than I should have. The Aoko's dad just shot Kaito's balloon and poof he went flying XD I thought the inspector was going to be really cheesy, but he seems to be an interesting character. Its cool that he doesnt rely on ass-pulls like other shows... |

| Finally, a worthy opponent for Kaitou Kid. I like Hakuba, but his calculation quirks are a bit annoying. Not that it's not awesome but he tends to overuse it, which makes him less cooler than Kaitou. I completely agree with Kaitou's statement about inspector Nakamori being pathetic. At the skating rink when Kaitou Kid split himself into two, why did he just assume Kaitou can't possibly be that bad at skating and only went after one of them? Wouldn't it make more sense to go after both of them? Some inspector he is.. Sensed a bit of NTR with Hakuba attempting to take Aoko away from Kaitou. Well, I doubt Aoko would prefer anyone else other than her osananajimi anyways. That bond is special. :3 Too bad, none of them could accompany her to the concert in the end. Tsk.. Tsk.. Good episode. New girl Akako sure looks good. :p . Did Kaitou Kid get a mouthbleed from her beauty or curse? XD |

| Hakuba's introduction never gets old. Just a great episode. Only one thing bothers me a bit. I know the animation is not very good and I can easily live with that, but Nakamori's face gets messed up a bit too often. |

| Lol Hakuba and his cheesy lines. And Kaito's so childish when he said that Hakuba and Aoka fit together because he and Aoko's father both can't catch Kaito Kid -_- really now. Also, was that possibly a Sekai no Owari parody? Even the name of the band sounded very similar, "Sekai no Mawari." Would love to see Sekai no Owari live ^^ Too bad Aoko wasn't enjoying it since she ended going with her father. |

| Glad to see them finally sticking more to the original manga chapter without skipping scenes and introducing strange new baddies that don't quite fit. At least now we know why Aoko's cheering for KID despite her being anti-KID which wasn't explained in the specials - she had a date on stake here! It was also nice to see an explanation of how Kaito managed to outmaneuver Hakuba in the basement too. Being able to see Kaito's awkward side at being new to KID's mantle is pretty fun and a nice change of perspective from his cameos in Detective Conan in which he's much more professional and less prone to silly mistakes. And looks like the bomb is finally dropped on his skating skills, which were never mentioned in anime before~ Overall, it was a really enjoyable episode with the characters all being lovable dorks in their own ways.   |
| Favourite episode so far!!! I loved the comedy haha. This is one of the two shows in this season that tries to be funny and makes me laugh~ Miyano Mamoru on Hakuba is very fitting! Looking forward to next week! |
| So it started with a Conan reference, but was that guy supposed to be Conan lol? Kaito sure got scared back there and he can't skate XD. Hakuba Saguru eh... Damn, he transferred in Kaito's class and it seems he's his new rival XD. Dat rat doe... LOL, Kaito got injured and Aoko had to go with her dad to the live concert XD. |

| Oh, Hakuba is a student just like Kaito? This is the first time I've seen him in any of the anime (Conan, Kaito, etc.), but I always thought he was an older detective in his 20s :0 And even though Miyano Mamoru fits the character I wish they didn't replace Ishida Akira :< "Kaito can't be that bad at skating" the best line haha |

| Great episode, great new antagonist. This is literally the most underrated anime of the season.... It's one of the better ones and certainly more original yet its sooo unpopular... |

| ^ Might not be as popular as other shows this season on MAL but interestingly the Japanese Animation TV ratings are looking good, for example October 13-19 rankings it was 7th place (Source: ANN) Really enjoyed Hakuba's intro and Mamoru was perfect as VA (L vs Light indeed :P) |

| Lol.. classic episode.. was teeming with the olden themed anime.. Mamoru Miyano voicing Hakuba. Not bad at all.. Kaito is jealous that Hakuba is trying to make a move on Aoko.. but, seriously, if they play that live broadcast again and check, then it will be evident that Kaito is Kaito Kid.. :p |

| Hakuba was fine though his voice is different from DC which is sorta disappointing. I think Akira Ishida fits his personality better than Mamo. But man this animation and pacing... it looks cheap sometimes, like when it was revealed that the statue had a chain underneath. No one did anything until Kid checked the jewel? What was Nakamori waiting for? And since when does he bring a gun to a Kid heist? Another thing that's bugging me is Kaito's arrogance. I know this is him starting this side-career and he's gonna make rookie mistakes, but after being used to him being amazing/entertaining it's a bit underwhelming to see. And I'm noticing a pattern of the first half of the eps being boring and the last half being somewhat entertaining. Unless this gets fixed, the new version is going to be a hard watch. |
