I had a look at the first three episodes of Black Lagoon, since I had never watched
it before. Black Lagoon is certainly worth trying. I'll compare and contrast them:

Female character: "Miou" in Sabagebu:
Weapon of choice: airsoft Desert Eagle 0.50 AE
standard round: 6 mm diameter plastic sphere
bullet mass: 0.20 grams
muzzle velocity: 100 metres/s (328 feet/s)
kinetic energy: 1.0 Joules

Female character: "Revy" in Black Lagoon:
Weapon of choice: modified Beretta 92FS
standard round: 9×19mm Parabellum
bullet mass: 7.45 grams
muzzle velocity 390 metres/s (1300 feet/s)
kinetic energy: 570 Joules

In addition to that, I found a nice compilation of all of the funny scenes in Black
Lagoon, and it has a lot of great comedy. But it is primarily action.

. . . actual action with actual violence . . .

In fact, there was actual violence near the start of Episode 1 in Sabagebu when
the pervert threw his brown briefcase at Miou, she dodged, and the briefcase hit
the blue-suited salaryman standing behind her. Also, that yellow duck hit Momoka
on the face and knocked her unconscious.

Initially I was afraid this anime may start like Girls und Panzer. Basically using bullying as a plot device to move story forward and have MC forgive them for bullying a few episodes in.

Luckily it didn't go that way. Not only did other characters quickly speak out against the bullying. But also the MC showed she wasn't one to take crap. Unlike so many other animes where MC is spineless and completely unable to stand up on their own.

Episode overall was enjoyable. I didn't think I would enjoy sense we seen so many of these Pseudo Gun Otaku anime before but with the incorporation of chuunibyou I found myself not only interested but laughing at the scenes. I think it strikes a nice balance and gives a unique twist on overused genre.

Those are slapstick comedy gags. Cartoon violence, not action/thriller violence, there's a big differentiation between both.

never expect something serious airsoft in this anime, the opening scene (not from pre-air episode) says its clearly (from AK-subs):

momoka: i know what the title says, but don't go expecting real survival games. Turn off that tv and go to sleep! 'cuz if you don't watch, you can't complain--
miou: w-we totally do real survival games!

I found the narrator annoying but liking the main cast so far, especially Momoka. Pleasantly surprised that she actually has a backbone (bullying going either way is wrong but hey, this is a gag show).
Seeing an MC like her once in a while sure is refreshing.

Getting some C3-bu vibes but as long as it doesn't go down a weird route like C3 did, I'll enjoy this without thinking too much. It doesn't seem to take itself seriously anyway.

Much better than what I was expecting.

I love the main character and her personality, and the other cast is great.
Narrator best character, this is one of my favorites of this season.

Was expecting this to be moe fluff, but it was surprisingly good. It was pretty damn hilarious and it's self aware to boot. Love the narration. And the ridiculousness of everything just serves to make it even cooler. Hope the rest of the series keeps this up!

The first half was boring but the 2nd half was hilarious!!!

I love those wacky expressions and I literally lol when she was first tricked into signing the club application and then was drugged with the bread XD

This is infinitely more entertaining than Stella Jogakuin and I love how the narrator mocked the audience.

"Honestly a little bend in the plot and everyone starts shouting edgy" <-- this can be applied to all the hyped shows this season especially Aldnoah.

I also think I've found my quote of the season: "SURVIVE THIS, BITCH!"

It is early to judge anime from 1st episode, but I don't see how this is better than Stella Jogakuin. I like the girls in stella much more. Not to mention Stella op song is much better.

The comedy in Sabagebu! might be better, but it is not good anyway. I like to see this anime getting more serious and dramatic like later episodes that we saw from stella

oh god. i love bizarre self-aware comedies. i knew from that opening scene that this was gonna be a lot of fun. reminds me of joshiraku a lot (which is a very good thing) not in tone or content, just in its style of humor.

anyways. this feels like its definitely going to be the comedy of the season, not really any other strong contenders as far as i've seen though.

Man, what a fun and satisfying first episode. The humor is great and that narrator is golden.
What I love the most is how they take a jab at C3-bu fans for complaining that the show turned 'edgy'.

Totally got me there. Hopefully they can keep this level of humor until the end.

Being a girl in highschool who has shot for years and just participated and placed in a world speed shooting championship, i have watched my handful of anime involving girls and guns. I can easily say it is very easy to somewhat relate to these girls in a sort of chuunibyou way, and this might be the best girl+gun anime i've seen yet because its slice of life. I cant wait to see more, and i hope it stays quality. might end up being one of my favorite anime at this rate. PLEASE STAY ENTERTAINING

But on the serious note, the 1st episode was pretty good. Kind of got boring around the extreme bullying part. I think I'll continue this series because girls, guns, and boobs are such a great combo lol.

Yes, apparently, it really hurts a lot if you get hit on bare skin at point-blank range.

Note also that with airsoft guns, different guns have different speeds of the bullet.
This is measured in feet per second. In many countries, the maximum speed of the
bullet is limited to 328 feet per second (which is the same as 100 m/s). For those
of you who know Physics, that is the same as 1.00 Joules of energy. Note that the
mass of the airsoft bullet is 0.20 grams.

Online, I can see airsoft guns for sale with bullet speeds of 1000 feet per second.
There are many countries in which they are illegal.

In Japan, the legal limit for the bullet speed is 328 feet per second (i.e. 1.00 Joules).

HOWEVER, there is a greatly special reduced speed limit for the airsoft guns used
by adolescents. Their guns are limited to 120 feet per second.

In the scene in Episode 1 in the airsoft gun store, we saw that Momoka was only
allowed to purchase a low-speed airsoft gun. However, Miou was allowed to use
a more powerful one, since it was explained that Miou has special permission to
carry it.

For details, including information for every country, see here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_issues_in_airsoft

Given a children's airsoft gun shooting at only 120 feet per second, we would
definitely not see the severe blood-splattering injuries depicted in the imaginary
gunfight in the basement of the gun store.
