Damn what a messed up episode.
Not a lot of Tama-chan.
Yuzuki and hanayo switched places holy crap
I guess that's why they decided not to tell them everything.
So either way, regardless of whether you win 3 or lose 3, you still lose.
All LRIGs are former Selectors then I suppose. :o

Hitoe gets another chance at being a Selector, wonder what her wish will be this time around. And Yuzuki is her LRIG now..

I was thinking about Ruko's mother being a possible Selector. What if she got an LRIG that looked just like Ruko and she went all beast mode. She loses, and shortly after gives birth to Ruko. Since she lost Ruko's mother thinks of her as a monster since maybe Ruko's mom had an LRIG that looked like ruko and was a monster.

Maybe I'm thinking about too much but there has to be a reason why Ruko's mother thought of her like that.

Wow, this anime keeps getting better and better after each episode.
The battles are pretty boring but the psychological aspect of this anime is fantastic.
Aki is definitely not lucky anymore, with that new scar of hers.
She freaks me out a lot, especially when she brought out the knife.
Who knew random cops could be so useful.
Yuzuki's determination got her too far.
I wonder who even started the whole WIXOSS Selector/Eternal Girl/LRIG madness in the first place, it has to be someone/something very messed up.
I hope we either find that out in either S2, or in future seasons.

I hope they are going to explain in another episode why Akira managed to keep her memory. The only explanation I could imagine is that the other girl told her everything in order to destroy her even more.

Beside that I am really excited for the next episode.

The hopeless atmosphere is really starting to set in now.

Yuzuki win her wish but it's not her...but Hanayo instead.

Seems this was the turning point in the series and it'll finally start being good from here onwards.

It wouldn't be so unlikely that Iona has gone through the system a couple of times, so she
might have known the rules etc from long ago.
There might be a related reason for the "I found you" she said to Ru.

Btw, if Ru becomes an eternal girl with that wish (if it is her wish) then she would be the one of
very few that actually gets their wish fulfilled in person. Whether she's a selector or lrig, there's battles
nonetheless.

Really? I mean, I kinda enjoyed it because Ruko is irritating but it also felt... meh. And "why". Not needed THAT much.

The first part of episode was typical forced drama Wixoss fare BUT THOSE REVEALS. I like them very much (fake!incest scene still made me cringe, even if it's fake - most probably). Go, go, Hitoe, onward with your roaring rampage of revenge.

Yea. It wasn't. I just laughed my ass off.

Anyway; I think WIXOSS is a great show so far and I think it's sad that this anime isn't really popular, it deserves to be aknowledged, even though some people will find it hard to take it seriously. They prefer shitty incest, dumb action, wish fulfillment, fan service and harems like Mahouka, Black Bullet or No Game No Life.

And this anime doesn't have that?

Overall pretty good episode but I was very disappointed that they didn't explain how Aki-lucky still remembers everything about her selector days. And there wasn't even that much Aki-lucky in this episode =/

Looks like Yuzuki is fucked and switched spots with Hanayo. Pretty happy with that.
Ru-ru got slapped. That was overly dramatic, no reason for that.

All we can really hope for is some more Aki-lucky.

WTF!

I'm not gonna lie. The whole time Yuzuki was the same size as Hanayo I was like, I know she not to become a card. Then damn it she became one. Anyway this was a really good episode. That plot twist has to be one of the best I seen. So I'm guessing Hanayo is Yuzuki now and going to try and do the nasty with Kazuki. Can we still call that incest? Also looks like Akira is on the run. What the hell was up with that slap. You just know Ruuko was like, the fuck.

Can't wait for next episode.

Holy shit. This opens up so many possibilities, I now see the justification in a second season.

All along I've been guessing that the selector has to develop a really cohesive dynamic with their LRIG to make the LRIG evolve and get the selector closer to becoming an eternal girl. Now though, the only theory I can think would be plausible is that the selector needs to develop the same kind of resolve their LRIG has. That is, the resolve to lie to and hurt/turn your back on someone close to you for your own sake. I think that's why they had Yuzuki turn her back on Ruko and (sort of) Hitoe. She had finally gained the fucked up resolve to become an eternal girl. To become an LRIG that will have the resolve to lie to and use their own partner while cheering them on to win, all for the sake of returning to reality. To become that, one has to develop that fucked up resolve before hand, or else you get LRIG's like Midoriko that couldn't find a way to get Hitoe to continue battling(she really just had crap luck getting a selector with an easily attainable wish)

You can't blame the LRIG's, they've all gone through the same thing and are merely trying to cross the finish line to get the fucked up payoff. Look at Yuzuki already being serious, she won't have any qualms about doing the same thing to Hitoe. The only question is whether they can grant their own wish once they've returned to reality, or they're stuck with their former selector's wish. Hanayo sure seemed to be gearing towards Yuzuki's wish with pleasure, but maybe she just has a bit of freedom with wish granting.

So one of my concerns is where Iona factors into this. I feel like there's no way she doesn't know the truth. She must know and have some strategy for not becoming an eternal girl again. Why else would she scold Ruko so hard for not having a wish, only reveal she's the same way and just wants to battle, unless she's gone through the whole process and became a selector again just to battle? Or maybe she just has the resolve it takes to be an LRIG already but the nature of her wish requires a lot of wins.

My even bigger concern is Tama. I daresay she is the only LRIG that isn't completely aware of the situation. Or if she does, she's just too dense to realize the selector doesn't know and doesn't want that to happen to them. However, we all know she will get her way and give Ruko the urge to continue battling. So what kind of wish would Tama be able to grant in Ruko's body? And what does her evolving mean now? This could be how Ruko's dream comes to fruition.

Well, I still have my doubts on this, but this episode was good. The psychological aspect, which is really heavy, finally starts to resonate with the show's premise. The scipt's dynamic starts to shine with the plot twists unfolding in an unexpected manner, even if they're not original. Finally, the show starts to surpass it's limits of a simple teen angst drama.
Totatally agree. This was the twist we were all hoping would come and justify the dark tone we've been fed since day one. I am not disappointed. Pretty similar in theory to Madoka's twist, but quite different in practicality.

You know what man I was thinking the same thing about Tama. I don't think she knows what happens to the LRIGs (GIRLS) or the selectors when there wish is granted. I also think it wouldn't matter for Tama and Ruuko because I think there wish is the same. To battle for ever. So if they do switch bodies like Yuzuki and Hanayo they just going to take turns beating peoples asses until they change back again. Or at least that is my theory.

Okada Mari, my faith in your writing has been restored. That was fantastic! I did not see that coming O__O

So how does this work now? When one becomes an Eternal Girl, they switch places with their LRIG --which I still can't believe is the reverse of GIRL (I'm kicking myself for missing that) -- and the Selector's wish is transferred to them. That's messed up. And even more messed up, Hanayo never told Yuzuki. You know what, I'd rather make a deal with Kyuubey at least my real wish won't be corrupted >___>

Now I wonder if Iona's actually an LRIG-turned Selector :o Hitoe got Yuzuki as an LRIG so I guess that means defeated Selectors can still participate. I hate to think what would happen if Aki-lucky gets her hand on a new LRIG. Still it's messed up, if Hitoe becomes an Eternal Girl, Yuzuki would take her place and...that's just sad :/ Seems to me that LRIGs retain their memories except for Tama.

I want to see how Ru reacts to seeing Yuzuki as an LRIG. That's going to be fun.

My theory was right afterall, and now I just noticed LRIG is girl spelt backwards...

The siblings thing looks very weird in Japan, siblings be good together = incest rumors?

Still something fishy about LRIGs, all the other LRIGs had fancy look and hair matching the color of their decks (Midoriko -> green fancy hair, Hanayo-san -> red fancy hair, Piruluk -> blue fancy hair)
None of the other LRIGs looked like common girls at all, unlike Yuzuki, which doesn't have a matching look, and looks like a plain girl.
Maybe that has some explanation, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's just bad writing.

Showgate (the distribution/licensing company) had originally said that Wixoss would have two seasons, but they later removed that. It remains to be seen whether that means that a second season was planned but later canceled or that a second season is still planned but wasn't supposed to be announced yet and some employee at Showgate just messed up. In the past, situations where something similar happened have ended up indicating both possibilities.

Yeah. I also hope that Wixoss does end up getting another season. The card game sold much better than expected (they apparently ran out of stock when it was first released), and while the first Blu-ray has only been on Amazon for just under two weeks, the sales prediction so far looks decent, especially considering the price, so I'm cautiously optimistic. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yuzuki seemingly unfriends Ruko. She's quite confident about becoming an Eternal Girl..

That girl almost trapped Kazuki to kiss her. Good seeing his supporting attitude towards Yuzuki.

Yuzuki wins the battle and thus becomes an Eternal Girl.. LRIG! :O
I'm assuming the new Yuzuki is actually Hanayo..

If Yuzuki becomes Hitoe's LRIG, does it mean she has a chance to undo her wish?

Good episode. Ending was really interesting!

People have been saying this for a while, but don't this episode finally kill this theory?

We already knew others couldn't undo Hitoe's tainted wish for example, that already broke the "meguka".
But now we clearly see how the wish granting works, it's not as "Magical" as it was in Madoka, I don't really see how the wish can break the system, much less turn Ruuko/Tama into god.

I called the becoming an LRIG thing pretty early into the ep, but I didn't think they'd swap places like that. I thought it'd be a like... you get the wish for so long and then you die or some shit kinda thing. This show is definitely improving after its weak start though.
