If i can clearly remember, before and shortly after the king was born, they still remained at the chimera ants nest, wich was occupied only by humans who were either already dead or about to get eaten. So why didn't they use a bomb at that time ? That place seemed far enough away from any civilization to avoid unnecessary casualties. But instead of that Netero & crew were just playing guerrilla around for weeks if not months. |

And they did not know what/who was in the palace for sure. And you seemed to forget the fact that he did not go in there being 100% of death, he did say "Zero did not work out?" as in, the Nuke was not their first option. Netero had to sacrifice someone, and it was himself. The facts show he is still selfish, but more of the "make the best of this moment" selfish rather than Jeopardize the whole mission for giggles selfish. And then there's the location, the ecosystems affected, by the bomb or the radiation. |

I don't think there is any inconsistency there. The only ways to kill the king for sure is a one to one fight with the best hunter who is also the most competent person to carry that bomb (We saw already that Palm failed to kill herself in front of the Ants). Nuking the palace would have failed if for some reason, the King decided to go out for a walk or so :D. |

| Can't believe that most of the fight took under one minute!!! Netero was awesome... his undying heart and his strong resolve... I was sad that even the zero hand didn't work but it failing made it that much better. The rose bomb... so Meruem was the one that was fell for the trap. Netero's last word about humanity having infinite possibilities! I haven't felt so hyped in a while now. This fight was beyond awesome. And here I thought that at the beginning of this arc that this would been not that good. I was proven wrong very soon. Netero... he was really awesome. The zero hand attack was really strong. Meruem is too tanky >.< |

In the manga, the lines has a double meaning that's lost in translation: the original line is: "Meruem, King of Ants, you understand nothing of humanity's bottomless capability for malice." (here's the line: 人間の底すら無い悪意") Malice (in kanji) as the BIG type, while evolution (also in kanji) is a small print in place of the usual hiragana syllabary that usually accompanied the kanji. I take a look and notice most of the western scanlation also only choose 'evolution' as translation. While in Japanese, the word "MALICE" is the actual keyword that's in lots of discussion, and the one major keyword for one of the major theme of Chimera Ant arc. The line "人間の底すら無い悪意" (humanity's bottomless capacity for malice) is a lot more negative than "humanity's infinite potential for evolution" I just wonder if the western readers has been missing something all these years as oppose to Asian fans. "Humanity's bottomless capacity for malice" was a meme or sort on 2ch, etc. And I wonder why western translator chose to highlight it in a positive spin? Netero's creepy smile and the line "humanity's bottomless capacity for malice" has haunted me (and a lot of readers I'm sure) for a long time. I'm puzzled that the English translation chose a positive spin instead. |

| Amazing episode. Netero was such a bad ass in this episode. Losing a leg and arm but still continues to fight. That zero hand attack was awesome but still was not enough against the King. The King was bad ass as well. Being able to withstand all those attacks and launch straight into a counter attack. That miniature rose was a massive explosion. R.I.P Chairman Netero. Cannot wait for next week. |
