Jesus Christ, did this episode deliver.

Genuinely teared up when Satsuki and Ryuko talked to each other.

Holy fuck that was intense. I don't care if it was fan-service-y, that was easily one the best episodes of the series.

Dare I ask why you only realize you regret something that late in? I mean, I appreciate you giving the chance, but I'm interested to know what made you change your mind.

I really like the character development for Satsuki in this episode. I think there lacks 1 or 2 other charismatic characters in Ragyo's side. I like Nui, but it's getting a bit annoying to see Ryuko fight her all the time.

I teared up when Ryuuko and Satsuki stood side by side then did their transformation simultaneously. It was too awesome, I had goosebumps! Can't wait to see these siblings have more sisterly chats with each other.

The part where they were all eating the croquettes together was truly a heartwarming moment. The COVERS are getting bigger and Mako is gonna fight too now that she gets her uniform back! Even more awesome! xD

HOLY FUCKING SHIT THE EPICNESS, I CAN'T HOLD MY GOOSEBUMPS.
Anyway, I always knew that Satsuki was just training Ryuuko, it was kind of obvious after all but we have a confirmation at last.

Who said that this episode was anti-climatic? And if you're meaning the dinner, I kinda interpreted it as "The last supper of Jesus Ryuuko/Satsuki". So, definitely climatic.

Mako-Jotaro was good to see again, also I'm happy that they showed once again the club's captains, I hope they will join the fight later.

So - about to watch the subbed episode, but from what I know, I can tick off the following items from what they need to do in the last 2 episodes.

Let's do this TRIGGER. Make it big.

We're still expecting:
  • A fight with Ragyou.
  • Destruction of the OLF.
  • Closure between Satsuki & Ryuuko.
  • Closure for the rest of the cast.
  • SOMETHING to happen regarding Nui. (She's too random to predict)
  • To learn where the OLF comes from, and why it's using humans, and for what.??
  • Maybe More?
  • "Evidently... There's no such thing as 'meaning' in this world. But that in itself is wonderful... isn't it? Since if there isn't a set meaning, then you can just find one on your own."

You know i think a flag for Nui surviving and being "saved" just popped up this episode, at around 15:40 Ragyou said "Yes. Have Nui hurry up with her work. What troublesome girls. Did i perhaps sew the marionette threads all wrong?" Which to me gave the impression that Nui has been controlled or brain washed since who knows what point. That just opened up the option for Nui living or at least been shown as a victim.

Imagine if Kill la Kill had a high budget (or even a mid budget tbh) i wonder what it would of looked like lol, actually probably around the quality of Gurren Lagann. Well Trigger is new so i guess this is the most we can expect atm.

Wow. This is finally starting to remind me of Gurren Lagann. Satsuki-sama was so cute with her sweet side and so was Ryuko. Episode gave me so many goosebumps from the Ryuko accepting Satsuki to double Godrobe Synchronization to Mako coming in her fight club uniform. I really didn't like Mako but she grew on me somehow. NO! Nonon said nani with no sore. </3.

This was a great episode. Satsuki had significant character development in this episode. She now has more trust into people instead of just using people as pawns. She views the world as beautiful even with "incomprehensible" people that she looked down upon. Ryuko has some character development too as she now has more trust with Satsuki and Senketsu. I also noticed that Ryuko is more calm.

I like the simultaneous godrobe transformation sequence with Ryuko and Satsuki. It's also nice to see Mako fighting again in her two star uniform.

I never imagined that it could get any better, and there it is! Who ever thought Satsuki & the 4 could happily have dinner together with Ryuuko & the Mankanshokus & the Nudist leaders.

Haha Harime Nui is all upset, I'd have loved to see Ryuuko act so calm and in control and taunting Nui like how Nui usually does to Ryuuko.

lol when Satsuki just stares at Tsumugu after his line xDD

I just watched the episode for the 3rd time - even with the earthquake warning, it still blows me away. They really nailed quite a few points in this episode - and the hinting that Nui and Rei are being controlled adds another layer of mystery to the plot - I'll probably write more about that tomorrow.

The only part I'd have liked to see more of would have to be Ryuuko acknowledging Satsuki as her sister. It was adorable that she tried to call her sister, but I feel kind of cheated that Satsuki stops her, and a bit more cheated that her excuse for stopping her is that Ryuuko's blood is now in Junketsu. I understand that means something, but it's not as big as them actually outright calling each other "sister."

Other than that - the episode once again blew me away with what they could cover in 22 minutes.

Dare I ask why you only realize you regret something that late in? I mean, I appreciate you giving the chance, but I'm interested to know what made you change your mind.

I realized this at episode 19. Everything felt so boring. It felt like I have already seen the same conversation between the characters a thousand times over, the same dull humor. The repetitiveness and the predictability is what got to me. The anime lost it's fun factor for me, because nothing and new and creative in it. For example, the use of nudity in general and the comedic scene of Aikurou's striping was funny, creative and unique the first time they did it. But they kept doing it over, and over and yes you guessed it right over again. The problem here is that it's not needed, since what he says during it, is usually not important and just common sense, it takes a portion of the episode away. Mako hallelujah thing while not as repetitive and unfunny, is also bad because it's kills the tension and the seriousness of the situation. She keeps interrupting fights and conflicts like no tomorrow. It kills the mood being setup and It's just frustrating sometimes, instead of giving focus to the important characters in said conflict, we get to see Mako waste a couple of minutes every damn time. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Mako, in fact I really liked her at the beginning and I can stomach her now but she just worsen the show more often than helping it.

The predictability here, for example is that I knew that Satsuki was going to wear Senktsu, the moment Senkstu commented on Ryouko wearing something other than him. It just leads to a very predictable conclusion, Ryouko getting brainwashed, etc. Another example, is the plot twists. The best thing about plot twists, at least for me, is the unpredictability of it. The sense of knowing something is going to happen due to nicely placed subtle foreshadowing, yet not completely predict what's gonna happen and how it happened, so it can satisfy you when it occur in an unexpected manner. That wasn't the case for the plot twists here. Actually Satsuki's betrayal was decent but not the fact that Ryouko and Satsuki are sisters, it was just too predictable with no good foreshadowing like Satsuki's betreyal. And how it happened was easy to guess.

It just dawned to me, while I was watching the previous episodes how this show lost it's charm and how everything is just dull, lifeless and repetitive beyond belief. It just killed my enjoyment. Most of the characters being one dimensional and having bad dialogue that I feel like I've been hearing it for an eternity.

The real cause of this imo is how dragged out the show really is. 13 episodes might have made this a favorite of mine but alas we got plenty of episodes that contributed nothing to the very simple plot or to the characterizations of the characters. Episodes that contributed very little and episodes that felt like a straight up filler. Where the humor and the charm of the show were all used up and dried. Of course, that might not be the studio's fault, since who knows what led to this decision but having 2 cour, instead of one just hurt the show tremendously. Because if a show drives on 'fun', it can't be too long or it will become boring fast, which is what I feel the case was with Kill la Kill.

Forgetting all of this. If I were to pinpoint exactly one of the biggest problems with the show, it has to be Ryuuko. She is just a terrible character imho. She doesn't bring forth and give the show any good attributes or charm or anything. She has shallow and little characterization. Despite being the lead character, it feels like she has less dimension in her personality than Kamina and that's saying something. And she lacks development and depth. Her dialogue is very vapid and trite. I can't say a lot of good things about her. Her character was best fit for a shorter story which connects with my above point about one cour being better for this anime. She killed a lot of my enjoyment since the second half started. This is especially apparent because Satsuki is leagues and beyond her in terms of literally everything. I just don't understand, why they couldn't create a great character like Satsuki or pour some of that effort in Ryouko. The writing of Satsuki is just so much better than everything else in this show, it feels extremely solid and well founded. And I'm not saying this because Satsuki is my favorite character, in fact, I used to like Ryouko more than her.

So yeah my problems are the use of comedy, the pacing, the unnecessity of some stuff, the too simple plot, the predictability, plot twists being sub par, the characters and their lack of adequate depth and Ryouko. I always realized these problems btw, it's just that by at this point, the flaws became too apparent, coupled with the lack of pay off from the second half, which is why my enjoyment dropped significantly, thus making me having regrets.

P.S: This is just my opinion, I'm not claiming I'm 'right' at anything.

everyone has different taste so i don't blame you if you hated the way it is. but its not of my concern and i won't hate, because there will always be a dissatisfied minority in any anime. if they'd listen to those minority , this show will definitely fail. and will get less ratings obviously. and would be a much lost to everyone :)

Banchou Mako is back, Banzai!! Now others can depend on her, she is not useless.

Very heartwarming episode, Ryuuko almost called Satsuki nee-sama when they stood by each other. Would be nice if the hugged instead, but not like the kissing she did to nui

Oh yeah, Nui went badshit insane, wonder what Shinra-Koketsu going to turn out to be and who's going to wear it.

Satsuki probably won't die since Trigger wants to trick their viewers by raising fake death flag all over.

I feel like a lot of people still read too much into the fact that these are the guys who made Gurren Lagann, so it's got to have a tragic death scene.

Thing is TTGL established that people can, and probably will die, very early. Kill la Kill has not.

I mean, Nui just lost both of her arms which resulted in massive bleeding, and it was treated as a joke. I feel like having a major character death this late in the game, given the tone the show has kept up, just wouldn't sit right.

    Senketsu crying was cute.

Nui is seriously pissed off :P

XD tennis club captain, been awhile since we saw her last.

Some serious sister bonding this episode.

    I think Nui broke :P

So the sewing guy finally transformed XD

Satsuki's laugh was cute and unexpected, I'm really liking this new side of her.

That ending was epic Mako is going to kick some major ass next episode.

    Outstanding episode!

Good episode. Having Harime's arms pop off was funny. Now she is just pissed. Can't wait for the next episode.
