Yeah, OK, Jigoku Shoujo is seriously losing sense now... I didn't get the episode either. Plus, the main dude in this episode freaks me out with his weird eyes.

Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol.

He is psychotic and his father.........I THINK HE MIGHT BE DEAD? Also the guy who got sent to hell was doing nothing BUT from what I got he might have spread the bad rumors about Inoua's mom.

guyklc said:
Wait, so why did he send the friend dude to hell? His mother or w/e was the real evil person.

CAUSE HE IS PSYCHOTIC and incest!? Think about it he knows he is going to hell SO HE CARES NOT! Just theory but SINCE HE LOOKS PSYCHOTIC then YEAH. Like the guy with the nurse in second season or first. FORGOT a little.

haha this was a very hard episode.. it's virtually impossible to understand until you notice inuo's friend's(forgot his name) mischievious laugh before he got sent..

I was really confused and totally frustrated when the scene showed the poor guy tortured by enma's army.. (princess kikuri is especially good at it)

To be honest, i didnt even consider the possibility that he was the one who spread the rumors until i read angel999's post. what i made out was that he was trying to budge into inuo's business and was making fun of him about his little secret.

If you remember, there was the scene of the guy outside of the teachers' room.. it didn't seem like he went in and exposed inuo's secret though.. but as it is stated in the title for this episode, usotsuki, the real liar seems to be the poor guy..

Well, i think this is again trying to portray one of the themes in this season.. again, clues from the opening song.. 'watashi wa maru de tori kago wo hoshiteiru kurutta kotori' - I'm like a bird gone mad wishing for the birdcage. those who pulled the string are all nutcases, and are either masochists or liars. they would rather torture themselves than change things for the better.

I beg to differ, I think this ep is really easy to understand. His friend is being too nosy, and brings stress and anxiety to that guy. If his friend never interferes, he wouldnt have that much stress and he never have tot see the truth whatever his mom is doing. I knew from that beginning, his friend would be the one who's going to hell

hmm i see.. u have a point in ur explanation.. but i still can't accept the guy's mentality.. it means he just wants to live a life of lies and ignorance.. again, this fits the theme of mitsuganae..

Yea, he's always been on edge, cuz his mom is such a handful but he somehow manage, but then that guy intrudes his life and keeps giving him pressure. So he's kind like leave me alone , and that guy is making his situation even worse.

one thing I didnt catch well , cuz its raw, was his father dead or went with another woman?

hmm.. at the end it seemed like his father died, but at the beginning of the episode, his mom said "danna ga jyouhatsu shite...", meaning "husband gone missing.." and after that she said "..ano otoko mitai ni watashi wo uragiru no ka?", meaning "are u going to stab me in the back like that man?" and the housewives were going on about his dad "jitsu wa suterarete...", meaning "actually, they were thrown away,..." so, i'm guessing his father went away with another woman..

Need subs DX Why was his mother beating him up and then crying? And why was she pretending to be sick?

I saw the friend do the evil smile/smirk, but him being sent to Hell was still a bit unexpected. but thinking back on it, I think he was spreading rumours about Inuo, because he was jealous of Inuo's popularity at school.

I wish I could understand Ai's team's taunt... >_<

Also, when Hone Onna becomes the straw doll, before the string gets pulled, wouldn't they wonder where their gym teacher went? XD

Inuo at the end was kinda creepy... Actually, he was creepy as a whole. Reminds me of that guy in ep 4 actually. I think he prefers to live in lies than come to terms with the truth. Maybe that's why he was so upset about his friend showing him what his mother is doing....

Well subs are out now, and it seems like the guy who got send to hell went there for no reason, he was just trying to help out but the son ended up being a straight up psycho. With the way jigoku shoujo has been in the past I expected him to send his friend to hell once they got into the story, but the lead snapping at the end and losing his mind was unexpected. The poor guy who got sent to hell wasn't just innocent, he was actively trying to help out.

Hmmm this series is seriously getting darker, and the moral factor is sometimes passing the gray line. In fact, it's not always the bad guy who dies in the end (in most episodes of this season, it was not the worse guys that were send to Hell at least), which shows very well the subjectivity and arbitrary nature of hatred and how society (especially the Japanese one...) can push people to do absurd things.

MEGATRON said:

He wasn't exactly innocent either, since he took certain pleasure to see his "friend" unable to overcome his problems and was very meddlesome at the same time. And as everyone knows, there's nothing more stupid and irritating than a meddlesome guy. But I agree with you on teh fact that the mother probably deservec to die more than him.

In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

Before I start my usual comments I would just like to ask, WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO ANILINKZ? A few days back I was watching a show on it and then I came back an hour later and the site is gone! Hopefully its only temporary and I wish them the best but I would like to know what happened.

Comments made while watching:

-You ever notice how in nearly every Anime they has the main characters at school, pretty much everything happens in class 3-A?

-Inuo-kun eh? So now the question is, will he be the one to pull the string or the one to go to hell?

-Wait I thought we were in Tokyo? Granted when they dont tell you where an Anime is located its generally because we are meant to assume its Tokyo...

-Oh that would be amazing if Yuzuki developed a crush on Inuo and then has to watch as Ai takes him to hell...

-Hmm something is with that kid...

-What the heck? What kind of mother tells her son to lie?

-LOL they are talking about Ai on television now, she should be an idol in her spare time, just kidding.

-Well Yuzuki is pretty cute...Wow they are developing her character now too.

-Incidentally, Inuo has the widest eyes in all of Japan!

-Wow, nice typing speed.

-Just realized...wont that cause a problem if Hone Onna is seen turning into a doll by one of her students? I mean no one is going to believe him but still...not to mention the fact that I dont think Onna can teach class in doll form.

-Dang rumors travel fast in this series.

-Ok even though she is a bitch, there just something...odd...about going into a guys house and talking bad about his mom in front of him.

-Ok something about that "I dont have a kid" scene was waaaay to perfect...

-Nah consulting a teacher isnt enough...strings are gonna have to be pulled.

-Yuzuki if you dont want the butterfly coming out of your back once a week then do something to stop people from pulling strings...granted id rather you not but...

-Wait why is the other boy being sent to...HOLY CRAP! I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!!!

Post Episode Comments:

This is what I have always loved about this series, just when you think you know what is going on, it surprises you. This episode pulled a "Six Sense" style plot twist at the end that took if from a good episode to a great episode. (I include spoilers since I assume people who havnt seen the episode wouldnt be reading this).

So where to begin, Kikuri was adorable in this episode, Yuzuki was cute as always and even got some much needed character development (she lives on her own and a few other details were revealed). Poor Yuzuki she knows whats going on but doesnt have it in her to try to stop it. (Wouldnt be neat if in the last episode someone tries to send Yuzuki to hell for some reason...that would of course cause a problem for Ai.)

Verdict:

Honestly I the Mom deserved to go to hell the most in this episode, she really has no business being a parent and she isnt even the least bit repentant about what she does.

Inuo started out being a really sympathetic character but at the end it is revealed that he has been lying so much that its gotten to the point that he sees the lie as reality so its little surprise that he send the other kid to hell, as far as he was concerned the other kid was sticking his nose where it didnt belong and he may have realized at the last scene before the string was pulled that the other kid was not as sincere as he appeared to be.

I cant recall what the other kid's name was but its safe to say he wont make another appearance. At first he seems like a concerned classmate who just want to help but just like everything in this series, nothing is as it seems. Turns out he is the type that likes to see other people suffer, and those kind of people really just belong in hell.

So at the end of the day this episode gives us 3 characters, each of whom arguably deserve to be sent to hell. Personally I would have rather the mom be sent but then we wouldnt have the plot twist and really the guy sort of deserved it anyway so all and all good episode.

Pointless pointless pointless. The grudges this season are really pathetic as compared to last season's. And no one apparently thought of anything when a popualr PE teacher suddenly vanished for a few days (she became the straw doll).

As other people have said, it was easy to see that coming. I saw it coming a mile away, especially when they didn't show the name he typed in and the discussion where they mention he just carries it around and just put "that person's" name into the website. HUGE red herring with the mother.

Yeah ok with the benefit of retrospect but still its alot like the episode in season 2 with the woman in the apartment getting called by her neighbor constantly because she took the cat in. Dont even tell me that you saw the ending to that episode coming too.

OK, I re-watched the episode WITH subs, and boy, the subs helped out A LOT!! I totally changed my mind about this episode; it's really awesome if you understand what the hell is going on. Basically, Inuo is forced to lie because of his mom. He feels sorry for his mom because his mom was dumped by the dad, so he went along with the long. Then, Washizu (or w/e his name was) decided to be nosy and help. Washizu found out about Inuo's real family circumstances and decided to expose it, saying Inuo needs mental support for all that is happening within the family. The real irony is when Inuo sent Washizu to hell.

Enma Ai's gang taunted Washizu that he was being nosy, and that some things are not meant for other people to interfere. I, on the other hand, believed Washizu really intended to help. Yes, I know about the smirk before revealing Inuo's mom is hitting on other guys, but I think that wasn't really malice; it was more of a "now I've got proof that Inuo's mom is a bad person, so Inuo has to side with me so victory to me!" kind of smile.

The biggest point for me was at the end, when Inuo was so absorbed into his lie that he thinks his dad will come back. I really felt pity for him... not because he sent someone innocent to hell, but all the shit that shouldn't have happened to him finally screwed up his mental mind. He no longer differentiates from the lies he's told to say and the actual reality. Inuo just wants his family back together in one piece, but he will never have that happen, so instead, he could only take the path of self-deception. No one can help him, unless they want to end up like Washizu did.

Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol.

I think Inuo had what must be dubbed a 'Level 5 moment'. The constant stress of living a lie with his mom built up, but he couldn't bring himself to completely hate his mom so he sought another source to focus his hatred on. Then along comes Washizu who tries to help Inuo, but only complicates the matter.

I believe Washiru was genuinely trying to help Inuo, but all of Washiru's laughs and smirks and actions that pointed to him being more devious than he appeared were likely Inuo's own imagination (thus the term 'Level 5 moment'). Inuo's stress had built up and caused paranoia and psychotic behavior to arise and his target ended up being Washiru. It was a pointless death, but it shows the extent of Inuo's instability.

Emotionally unstable, weak, masochistic, suicidal... you just can't come to like the characters that seek revenge, can you? Perhaps that's the point of the show...

Great episode basically he loves his parents he is a little crazy but all he wanted was his parents back together again but i think he felt that his friend was trying to take him away from his mother and ruining the chance he had to be a family once again so he sent him to hell its was a nice twist something that people could have seen coming but still good all the way around.

Exactly what I would think except that Inuo will not care much cause he is conscious that he will go to hell so he can do as he pleases. Could be also that he is crazy mentally already.

Okay, that dude is just trying to help.
He was only trying to prove that his friend's mom was evil and a trash so wasting your life on it is just worthless. I think that's why he smiled when they saw the mother with a stranger in a club.

Inou(If I recall correctly) being a pyscho tard in the end really didn't make sense for me at all. I find it idiotic.

this episode confused me immensely, ahahahaha~ i can't see what his friend did to deserve it, when all he did was try to help him understand that his mother isn't worth all the trouble he goes through.

and the craziness at the end? what the hell?! obviously he went psycho, but i didn't see any transition what-so-ever.

Lol...seems like the president didn't know the doll was intended at him
and why is he so stupid? Just grab the doll by force and beat up that dam guy over and over again.
Seriously, season 3 is all about selfishness? Someone tries to help you, and you send them to hell? Ironically, the hellings say the president has no common sense while it should be that dam guy who has no common sense!
Well, he is going to hell too anyways, after all that torturing from his mother. Serves him right!

Wow, I didn't expect the friend to get sent. Some crazy ppl in this season.
Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.~

Tbh I knew it and I wanted with all my heart not to happen. But well I do get it and that is why I knew but it's kind of sad. His friend just wanted to help but for him it was a pression, someone telling him to stay away from her mom. It's so sad how some persons can think.....

WTH? Why did he send that guy to hell? He could've been freed if he sent his good-for-nothing mother instead!

I felt surprised about who turned out to be the target too. I thought just for a moment that he's a possible target at some point, but after that I wrote off this idea. The "punishment" scene... it was actually quite well done. I felt like it's coming from Season 1, or at least close to some of the punishments back then. In other words if I saw such a punishment in Season 1 I wouldn't notice much difference. The ending was quite creepy... just like Inuo's eyes. Last time I saw such eyes they were belonging to one person from the anime named "C - the Soul of Money and Possibility Control."

What can I say... this was one good of an episode. It somehow resembles episode of Season 1. Yeah, I know that everything was done better back then, but the reason behind the sending and the kind of person being sent... Yeah, you can actually find episodes in Season 1 which gives you similar feeling after watching. You don't actually expect for that person to get sent. You're not even sure if the person deserves to be sent or what is the actual reason behind the sending. I say again, things were done way better back in Season 1 and even in Futukamori, but this is second episode in a row which gives me hope that we'll have the chance to see some good episodes in Mitsuganae.

I agree here. These are most of the cases to now.
Hmmm this series is seriously getting darker, and the moral factor is sometimes passing the gray line.

Yeah. This aspect is actually accompaining Jigoku Shoujo overall but I'm not sure I can find a single case in Mitsuganae, where the target was 101% deserving it's fate. Maybe the one who was beating his wife again and again, but even that case wasn't OK.
I'm looking forward next episode.

Ok this is the second ep (along with 4th) from this season which loses sense to me.. I mean WTF?
Even IF, like someone of you said, the class president was the one who spread the rumors (which we can't really be sure of.. cuz nothing was confirmed nor stated, nor even hinted).. and taking apart even the last scene, before he gets sent to hell, where he smiles at such scene.. still it makes no sense to me...
'cuz first of all, the sender doesn't know the true feelings of his "friend".. so only basing on what he does actually know of him... = is just someone that seem willingful to help him in this situation he is living through.. is this a good reason to send someone to hell (and sharing the same fate once dying too)? Seriously.. no sense to me :/

I liked this episode! And it made sense to me.

I actually thought, halfway through the episode, "What if he sends his friend to hell instead of his mother?" It just seemed like he was getting on his nerves rather than the mother was; he was managing to cope with the lie and just wanted to keep his mother happy, since otherwise things were mainly okay (to him, anyway - from the outside looking in it looks like a very, very screwed up situation).

But this is another one of those gray and grayer moralities: Do you try and help a friend in need not fully understanding their situation, or do you trust that they'll do the right thing for themselves and everything will turn out okay? I felt like this episode could have gone either way, but I liked that he sent his friend to hell instead of his mother. Plus, his friend's smirk was kind of like him laughing at the situation, but played it off as concern and proof that his mother is "that kind of person." And that while supporting him, he was like, "Well, I wouldn't have done what you did, but..." which is kind of annoying. That's not really how you support people you believe to be in need; you try to put yourself in their shoes. Some of it was kind of twisted.

I do believe that part of the friend was earnest, but I also believe part of him felt superior in that he wasn't in the same boat. So I felt like it was justified and I liked how the punishment went, too; it felt very appropriate and not over the top goofy like some previous punishments. (Though I will admit I do enjoy the goofy punishments, too.)

Still, despite how it was set up, I liked the "twist," though I wasn't surprised. I also liked that in the end the boy was breaking down. He was trying to retain his way of life as it was, but it's clear it's rough on him. I wanted him to snap on the mother or something because it was like he was having a Higurashi moment... >>;

Anyway, yeah, I liked how this episode made me think and feel, ultimately.

If he was "ok" with the lie and everything was fine, he wouldn't have told the friend to begin with, I think after she started hitting him though and pleading for him not to abandon her is when he had a change of heart about the situation, and submitted his friend's name that night to prevent him from meddling.

But this theory has a flaw, the website only shows to those who "hate". Why would he hate his friend, when he's the one that told his secret to begin with? Doesn't make much sense to me, but then again, what I've seen of the entire season so far has been unimpressive. Just more of the same old thing, without any compelling plot.

Damn what a mother, though why did the friend get banished to hell and not the mother? Is he responsible for the rumors? Either way it was rather a nice episode though again a bad family presence in home that caused someone to go to hell!

I'm not sure to applause people for trying to view the RAW, before the subs or LOL at them.

This episode was freaky, I only confirm halfway through, the name was changed from his mom to the friend. What profound me, was the rumor's, was it because of the mom going out, all night or his friend? Because his friend was in front of the teacher's lounge.

I guess the reason why the name was change to the friend, was that he meddle to much. Even though his mom was a douche, he still cannot abandon her and in the end, he went mad, maybe for sending his friend to hell or breaking under stress.
