Question: Why did they deem they needed to create this Misaki hologram to be seen jumping into the big robot before it went around destroying other robots? And if the company president knew she was a hologram, why kept shooting at her? Why asked Kai and Aki to stop her, as it would be futile anyway? And if he did not know she was a hologram, how did he come to know it when he met Kai later?

Remaber when he said something like "she deceived us all the way to the end..."? He did not realize it at the time.

You seem to be saying that chaos is deliberately created in order to execute plans, perhaps you can name a few examples of why you think it happens in the real world all the time. For now I can only think of terrorists as an example.

hmmmm, perhaps you can name a single reason why you think it doesn't. But here is a nice little example that should illuminate that light bulb: A kid pulls the fire alarm at school, then sneaks into an empty classroom to steal a microscope. Does that help at all? Now think of how anyone who wants to steal something can use the same basic concept- manipulative distraction and then execution of plans which would otherwise be noticed. This is not at all limited to stealing, but can be used for any action that is desired to go unnoticed, temporarily or permanently...so if you think about it for a moment, you should be able to come up with countless examples, small scale and large scale. Does that make sense?

I was to rate the show at least an 8 but now iam not sure about that anymore :<

Have you watched/read Chaos;Head and Steins;Gate? I believe this episode would be confusing to most people who haven't, which is not ideal, but if you have, most things do make sense.

If you're talking about Kimijima, though...

  • In retrospect, don't you think it's weird that someone would go through all that trouble of creating those quests (and quite easy to cheat ones) to get some reports on some conspiracy that'd be hardly taken seriously by anyone if revealed, when there were probably many better ways to provide evidence to the world of it?
  • Why would the good guy deceive someone into spreading the reports, when that'd probably cause some pretty big reaction from the "bad guys" (possibly resulting in the death of the person who found the reports), if you assume what they say is true?
  • And that thing about freezing/whatever Airi, which is already shady enough just considering ghost-AI-Airi, why was she hidden away? Who are her parents, and why would they let a random stranger keep her in a chamber in his secret basement?
  • Not to mention all the times someone told Kai to forget about the dude, which although not the clearest advice, is one that fits him being a villain.

I mean, anyone giving it a thought would have noticed that Kimijima has his own agenda. It sure is a surprise/twist/etc that he is the (a?) villain, but you can't say it's an ass-pull.
There's probably many more hints through the series, but I'd need to rewatch, and I don't think I have the time right now. Unfortunately.

EDIT: Sorry if you were not talking about him, but I got carried away and wanted to write it anyway. =P

The most important clue to solving this problem is Airi. She was send by Kimijima Kou to track Kaito specifically and try to contact with him.
SS Anemone incident as well.
And, well, Kimijima Kou's quests wasn't only about focusing on rocks, there also was ones, where Kaito should set up the antenna or release Airi from sleep. Clearly, Kimijima Kou was trying to get specifically Kaito's attention, he was trying to get Kaito interested, so he would go here and there willingly doing what Kimijima has told him to do.
I don't know why it has to be Kaito, though. There is definitely some reason, it may not be revealed just yet.
About Airi's parents, that bothered me too. I have no idea what's with Airi's family and life. The whole Airi's backstory seems too... synthetic and not_believable.

Well... its a little long but ill try it

Btw, OMG the show were boring me until this episode, sure C;H and S;G start slow too, but they didn't take this long to became interesting, as far as i can remember C;H just took 3/4 of the 1st episode and S;G just took 3 episodes, but this was becoming unbearable, im really glad that this episode was so good that almost, ALMOST make me forget how boring this was becoming.

This episode. Shit's been getting real in the series for like 5 episodes or so, but this episode right here just took it to a whole nother level. Damn. Great episode. Great plot twist. Great music. Great feels. Nae was a badass. Frau figuring things out on her own. Jaxa lowkey is prepared to fight the Committee of 300 (would be great if they came from Sparta lol). Can't wait for the next episode.

wow, this episode was a complete beast to take in. o_o

so many twists, kimijima kou alive through the network, airi's body stripped of life, terrorist attacks, conspiracies working behind the "solar flares", s braun, the dude who i thought was a bad guy for the past 18 episodes actually being a good guy... and so much more Dx

my brain is going to explode!
but the kai x aki was epic win. kai getting worked up over aki like that.. :]

Wow. Many many reveals in this episode. I love that Misaki and Kou turn out to be the bad guys. That's probably why they had to get rid of Mizuka - she was part of their clique while Kou was still alive and she knew too much so Kou had to kill her.

That was another great episode! I don't think I have ever wanted to hug an anime character as much as I did Aki in this episode! (Maybe besides Eureka anyway) Plus, it was nice to see Kai all worked up for once in his life! Plus, Nae kicks serious butt!

That bit with Airi in the end was creepy though! The whole Kagome, Kagome song is kind of creepy too when you consider it may be about prostitution and the like. ANYWAY! I want the next episode really soon! I hope Subaru and Jun can make an appearance soon! They haven't been seen for awhile! Loving this show!

But that is not "Order out of Chaos", right? And I don't think this trick is used so frequently that I would call it "all the time".

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

I don't think so... Airi is now being controlled by Kimijou but Airi is not Kimijou.

Now come to think of it, given Kimijou is the villain, and assuming Airi is really an innocent girl. Is it possible that Kimijou cheated Airi about her disease and in fact Airi does not have any incurable disease? Why did Kimijou spend all these money and effort to put Airi into cold sleep if he did not really mean to keep her for some future curing technology?

Well, I think he means that the confusion created by these diversions (chaos) makes it easier for whoever did it to execute their plan (order).

I'm not sure about the usual usage of the expression "order out of chaos", though.

Actually, Robotic;Notes shows the divergence number of the world line in which it takes place in episode 1, and I'm pretty sure it's the Steins;Gate world line (the anime ending one).

There's no Nae ending in S;G, the whole Nae thing is part of the Moeka arc. You can see how things unfolding in S;G ep 20 as an alternative worldline. The Nae mini-arc is canon in the VN, but now only Okabe remembers. One's nature never change. And everyone has his/her darkside. Nae being the extreme case here. She's either a positive, sweet girl or batshit crazy. In the cut Nae arc(R;N anime), she still occasionally shows her bitter personality in some of her dialogues. Kai says it best, when Nae is smiling, you get a strange feeling that she might not be smiling at all.

Made a mistake. You don't have to get all PMS about it.

Fixed it already.

PMS? Because you can totally sense my emotion through my typing...well I am sure you can tell that was sarcasm at least. No !!!!s or anything, I just wrote it repeatedly so people would see it and remember her name...how is it that at least two people misspelled it as Sae? hmmm, maybe Ishould start using those emoticons...
You could have easily have typed NAE in bold and a all capitals instead of typing the same thing again and again.

btw, you should have been able to tell that I was sarcastic about that post too. Also, Nae's name is subbed as Sae in some of the earlier subs, so the name stuck.

I'm pretty sure that they used a more advanced machine that was used in C;H to produce those illusions. Anyone who's seen C;H, knows that those machines produce "real" illusions as long as they're within range of the machine.

I don't think that you can see Nae insane since S;G takes place in 2010 when Nae is still a little girl and still has her father with her. She only becomes psychotic after she finds out the truth about her fathers death.

Yes, Nae's father dies in one of the timelines in S;G. Nae doesn't find out in the VN since she isn't there when the death takes place. She only finds out later on and joins CERN to take revenge on everyone who is connected to her fathers death (which happens to be the entire cast of S;G). Nae is basically the Darth Vader of CERN.

By the way, I really liked the Kai/Aki role reversal scene. Kai has had an interesting character arc, going from total disinterest and being completely passive in everything he did to caring so much that he dragged Aki back from despair. The Kai of episode 1 would have never done that.

Nae knows that her father died, but doesn't know the details of how or why it happened. When she finds out that Okabe and the others either did nothing or contribute in some way to him killng himself, she joins CERN. Besides, Nae being in the house is only one timeline. She witnesses the death with her own eyes. When Okabe & Co escaped to Moeka's apartment following Tennouji's death, Kurisu mentioned that she saw Nae running out from the house after the gunshot. With her young mindset, Nae could only comprehend what she saw, that her father killed himself, Okabe and Moeka weren't able to stop him, and even blames them for knowing her father in the 1st place. These eventually developed into hatred.

And about the construction site. We only count the original materials as canon. Like I said, ep 20 can be viewed as an alternative timeline, but it's not what Okabe has actually gone through.

[url=http://myanimelist.net/character/38559/Nae_Tennouji]http://myanimelist.net/character/38559/Nae_Tennouji

What do you mean by "never named in S;G"?
Nae wasn't named as the psycho girl in the S;G anime.

Well, when you said that I comprehended it as "didn't have a name". IIRC, Okabe never called Nae by name once. Just Little Animal. Or Sister Braun. Heh.

Bummer. You should check the VN. XD

And Chaos;Head, if you look closer, if very similar to "Total Recal"l (The old one).
This is SciADV for you.

Actually a good episode that comes out of robotics notes, but could've never aired about 15 of the episodes and had this episode 3-5 and it will still be good

The first really good episode imo, but it sill feels kinda weak. Something just feels missing and it just feels wrong for some reason. This could've been much better if it had proper direction, this just lacks the impact, while the show itself it also talking about impact... That's ironic.
I almost never read discussions after I made my post, if you want to reply PM me or post on my profile page.

Nae was a badass. Frau figuring things out on her own. Jaxa lowkey is prepared to fight the Committee of 300 (would be great if they came from Sparta lol). Can't wait for the next episode.

Actually, just like John Titor, The Committee of 300 isn't an invention of the makers of C;H/S;G/R;N.

also, just reading that wiki entry...
"Another author writes that the group may also be known as the "Hidden Hand"..."

What was the password Kai got from Airi (or was it Genji-nee?) again? :D

Also, Nae kicking ass for great Justice was made of win, though I cannot give her the first place. Suzuha is still occupying it.

I want Rambo in a mecha-suit with a laser-chainsaw gun that fires nuclear warheads, fighting the love-child of Predator, Alien, a group of Bangladeshi terrorists, and Satan. (Actually that would be a pretty sick show) - StopDropAndBowl

Wow, the series really went almost full-on S;G and C;H crossover there. Especially C;H .

A little suprising 'I'm old and my hair is gray but I still make it look as cool as possible'-san is a good guy.

That's why I like the SciADV series, they know how to use some real life example to their series & put some twist in it.

Man just marathon until this ep, I always knew that Kimijima is the villain, not Sawada because of his report just feel very ominous. The music in this ep also very good.

- So the Noah machine from C;H have been upgraded to IV & even portable!!
- They also use S;G's SERN black hole things to start the catastrophe, damn.
- Misaki in expo is a delusion is also unexpected, never see that coming.
- Knew that Kagome Kagome song is some sort of trigger because in C;H Let Me Pass also work like that, sort of... Though Airi actually sing it make it more creepier.
- S Braun lol, Nae got some move there. Thank God she save Frau in time.

Glad that I read C;H & S;G VN to understand all the reference. XD
Kimijima show up at the end, damn cliffhanger!

Not doubting your predictive power, but the fact that his reports feel ominous cannot be the deciding factor for knowing Kimijima is the villain I think? It can be just as possible that he is really a good guy trying to expose the ominous happenings planned by the 500 Committee, for example.

SERN does it again!

It took awhile to get here, but we finally have things tied together. Excited for the conclusion.
