----------------------------------------
The battle for Pluto is over, the battle for the galaxy begins...

We get to meet the Gamilian overlord Dessler and his deputy Hiss (strange...those names remind me of something...now what could that be? coughNaziscough). We should be waiting a few months for the next batch of episodes as I gather we get around four released when the BD for the next movie comes out.

Good News regarding the viability of this series: while the MAL viewership totals are pretty disappointing (less than a 1000 total? Come on people!) It sold over 19,000 copies of the Blue Ray on release this week (and over 7,000 of the DVD), so with sales like that in Japan the future looks pretty secure.

Ass pounding delivered. The Yamato is living up to its name.

Man, the Gamilans got fucked so hard. I watched it again because it made me horny.

For those that found it hard to believe there to be liquid water under the surface, I rationalize that pluto itself is cooling the generators that power the lazer. As a result producing enough heat to melt the ice. xP #saving_your_immersion

Handsome Desler is handsome, I think I squealed a bit seeing him taking a bath ♥ I also seem to love his personality, I always did. I wasn't aware that Yamato can be a submarine as well, that's pretty cool I think I overlooked such detail in the past! Yamato is always victorious, I cheered at the end. Kodai and Yamamoto were the true brave heroes this time, discovering the hidden enemy base. Later the Black Tiger squadron backup, manly as ever. To add, this smiling guy always intrigues me with his short appearances. Looks like we might get to see more of him next episode!

Impressive that what I questioned last episode, the tracing the trajectory back, was immediately addressed here, guess Id be perfect in that squad on the Yamato. Im starting to have a few mixed feelings regarding a few characters and screentime allocation, wish Kodai would be more present and in action but I guess with so many characters might as well try to get everyone involved in something, fortunately everyone on the bridge or is it the CIC, is for the most part decent (R2D2 seems awfully quiet).

Wonderful explosion and the visuals to the smoke in certain scenes gave it a memorable look. The major one and how it had lightning and what not in it was stunning.

Poor commander of the Pluto base, overconfidence, should have checked the waters before reporting to the leader, and worst, to lose so many ships and such a powerful weapon. Might as well have tried to stay with the base as it was being destroyed instead of returning and seemingly facing death?

Still liked the displays, though not as many as last time.

I can't believe I just discovered this series, Space Opera at its finest. Great conclusion to the Battle for Pluto.

I also like the fadeouts they do to each part at the end of each episode. They're very understated but leave quite an imapct on me as a viewer

That was an awesome battle!

Yuki Mori, the Nurse, Rei, and Yuria are damn pretty girls.

Also the ending song is good. I hope I can find it later.

That was one immensely satisfying battle. This is just such a good remake of the classic series.

I really appreciate that as Okita said his line about gambling in war, he was about the attack the wrong target and would probably have gotten the Yamato destroyed. I like that wise Captain Beard was about to make a mistake like a human being instead of being an invincible stoic warrior.

How were the humans losing in the first place? After the battle of first episode they've only lost one fighter while destroying countless of their fighters and cruisers.

Nice chillout episode.
Though costume party was a bit too much. You just lost comrades in battle and that's how you grieve ?

I find myself liking the Kodai-Rei pairing more, even though i realize it's not meant to be...

I like how they praised Kodai even though it was Yamamoto who discovered the camouflaged base and the enemy cannon.

Well from what I gathered from the first episode their cruisers couldn't penetrate the enemy's armor/shield. The only reason they're wooping ass now is because of the Yamato.

I really like this anime, its good to see space anime with new animation.
But I have a problem with how they survive all those laser attacks and the enemy doesnt know how to shoot and easily fall down. like WTF what a stupid enemies.
Like how they went to earth and attacked humanity if they are so stupid lol.
Its really similar to Star Wars, which i like but i also dont like that the good guys are better and always win.
Other than that its very good.
Great Episode.

I have my reservations, how will they continue to maintain this level of epicness up to 26 when so much asskicking has been administered? Too much of a good thing is a bad thing, there needs to more than military drama to keep the viewer invested as well as increase rewatch value.

It severely irked me that the 'expensive' Pluto base was so vulnerable and didn't even have any contingencies for the long range laser being shot down. Nowhere did they show the air combat teams shooting down the powerful AAs, nor were the second class Gamilian HQ ever address this issue. The only justifiable explanation for me is that the Gamilians have a budget of resources to adhere to they simply can't overdesign everything. I find it depressingly humourous that the teron conquest were assigned to second class nobodies which suggest that humans are insignificant, and that Gamilians have their hands full subjugating other more 'competent' aliens species. E.g. Iscandor?

The concealment shield was the only thing they could afford? If the Yamato regresses into an invincible warship it would be incredibly hard to continue being interested in the show. For example, "rasen meikyuu" showed how a small cruiser managed to tactically entered and leave the most hostile territory, the various tactics and use of hardware and consideration of the environment of space to achieve it.

I am truly nitpicking as I was amazed by the amount of thought and detail they introduced through this episode alone.

I love the Yamato , but I think I would preferred more world building and 'justification' for the OPness of the Yamato in direct contrast to the helplessness of Terons against Gamilian onslaught.

Also this time the battle between the Terrans and the aliens, is very fierce and without exclusion of blows. Really a show the various sequences of the war, with explosions really fabulous graphics, very nice also the strategies implemented by the two sides. Captain Okita looked even more like a real seafarer, especially when he turned the visor of his hat backwards to look through the periscope of the ship, the progress of the armed conflict. I still wonder what the autopilot of the ship consists of and who the alien girl came before Sasha on Earth.

And the battle comes to an end. I hope there will be more than JUST battles. Like, more character relationships and so on. Politics, maybe (am I requesting too much?).
I felt like the Gamilas' base was...too vulnerable lol. Or is it just Yamato that's so overpowered? Idk.
As for Dessler, he was introduced pretty casually. I mean, no epic music or anything like that. Just a guy in a bath with some mysterious soundtrack lol. Let's see what we'll have next.
