This episode rocked! When they showed the flashbacks, of the reconstruction, of the Sho-Wa miracle, The hint was there that he was much older than presented. Sha-chou san had done enough. His cure was to appreciate that.

This was a great episode! A bit on the sadder side, which I thought was a great change of pace.

Can't believe there's just one episode left. For once I wouldn't mind a hastily second season announcement. Damn, I keep forgetting how addicting the OP is.

This episode tops all others.
Culmination of the series.
Maybe that is why the previous one was much weaker - to really strike us with this 10th episode.

Everybody just said it, I'll just stack my praise on top of the pile already there.

Damn, that was a good one. We have the usual crossover between characters, and it fit better this time. So, the "animal form" was his younger self, a man with the panic of death, of not having enough time left to do everything he wanted to. The final sequences reminded me of "La maison en petit cubes", one's life in a second. Anyway, I think it was so good (and, by a certain degree, better then most of the other episodes) because you don't get it from the beginning, you aren't given enough hints on purpose: you slowly empathize with the character, and just as slowly you get it, until the extremely well timed revelation finale.

On a last note: I expecially loved the cardboard-crowd role this time: how they turn to real people after he remembers he began his job to help them, the people. So, as he remembers, they pop out of their silence and talk, feel, live.

Same. This is one of those few comedy shows that actually come off as funny and witty instead of retarded. I need more of these. D:

Great episode. The cardboard people as an obstacle when they were carrying the old man was very nice.

The generation conflict theme was also well played, along with the aging theme.

Irabu driving initial D style, stealing the ball and grabbing Nabeman in the darkness was priceless.

The fourth wall comment about the lack of an animal form was cool too.

Some details I still don't understand but this was truly a great episode and as someone said before the warm feeling left at the end of the episode is one of the best things of this series and this episode was a good example of it.

I'll be really sad next week when this ends D:

The best Kuchu Buranko episode, with a touching new patient, a credible subject, great developments and a true resolution of the story. Perfect.

I clapped my hands at the end, seriously. Glorious episode. The passing of time is always a beautiful topic to explore and the directing was superb. An instant classic to me. 5/5.

Kuchu Buranko is back on trail, and sadly, there's only one episode left.

This was probably the deepest Kuchu Buranko episode, and I enjoyed it far too much that I actually felt kind of sad when it ended. This is classic material right here. 5/5

And oh God I came at the fact that Tohru Furuya is the last patient.

I don't want it to end though ;__;

This is my favorite episode so far, along with the one with the yakuza. I was confused while viewing the flashbacks thinking "but man, isn't he supposed to be older than that?" I think his youthful state in the majority of the episode embodied that he still had so much energy and ambition.

I share everyone's sadness that next one will be the last. This is the only series this season that made me look forward to next week. Let's hope it'is successful enough in Japan to warrant a sequel some time in the future, that if there will be enough novel material for that.

Me too actually. That was the only show that had an impact on me, and a huge one on that :) I also demand a sequel, though i don't think it will ever have one, but if i cross my fingers and pray to god for the dvds to sell a lot, it might happen,... right?! Unfortunatelly, it's the fate of the majority of the shows of high quality to be underrated in japan. I don't know the ratings on japan tv, if anyone has that info, it would be great to see how KB has been doing in japan.

Very touching episode. The flashbacks really worked to show the patient's entire life.

And the ending was just too EPIC.

The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

That was so good. Best resolution of all of the patients so far by a mile. The chase scene was awesome, I can't help but legitimately laugh every time Irabu does something stupid. This episode managed to cover so many different emotions I was just blown away.

Wow... no point saying what everyone else has said, so yeah, just wow. I also just realized that Irabu gets a shit ton of patients all on the same week right before Christmas. I dunno if there's any significance in that or not, but he must make plenty of money if it's always that busy for him.

Definitely top of my personal favorite episodes, and this episode had a strong Mononoke vibe. I guess mostly because of the illusion of the patient.

This is art. This is funny, it is sad, it is happy, it is reflective, it is touching. I nearly howled with laughter when Irabu snatched the foul ball out of mid air, a complete change of pace from the reflective rememberence the flashback scene right before it had conjured. Amazing.

This heartwarming episode confirms why this series is definitely one of the excellent shows out there.

I was really wondering at first why there's no animal head and just waited for it to come out when his disorder attacks.

But it turns out what I'm waiting for was already there since the start of the episode. Pure genius!!!

The twist at the end was beautiful. The music, flashback and the concept of passage of time were brilliantly done.

Really reminded me of my past years. It was touching indeed.

As usual, the cross-over of characters are well-weaved and so with animation style of the reporters with the cameras and flashes.

Also, Irabu and his wacky actions never ceased to amuse me. lol

Brilliant.

The twist at the end, the true meaning behind the words "He didn't turn into an animal": his youthful form was the transformation. Though I could have figured that out earlier because at times he had wrinkles and was using a cane.

I teared up when Amazing Grace was playing, but then Irabu's dorkiness brought a big smile to my face.

I love this show!

Using "mental sense of time". That's a rather strange method for melody for this episode's problem. Then again the entire series is strange. (in a good way)

I was wondering why he was using a cane if he was so young. But I dismissed it as he was just using it for stylish reasons.

And then I kept wondering "Why are his flashbacks so old timey? He's so young and where is his animal head."

Then it hit me when they were asking about a successor and if he was resigning and that he was called "old man" that he was really older than he was presented to us. Another hint was his hands were so old looking. Also, "he didn't turn into an animal" makes a whole lot more sense.
