After the epic fail of Iron Man, I'm really hesitant to take up this title.. But I'll give it a chance since Logan's new style really clicks with me.. Good first episode, I'm crossing my fingers that Madhouse won't make the same mistake twice.. >.< |

Just like belatkuro said I'll follow this collaboration until the end. I agree that seeing Wolvie as a skinny character is weird, but aside that I actually liked this episode. The romance was ok to me since he always flirts with ladies and Mariko was, well you know who she was. I can see where its heading if its following the comics. I'm curious to see if they will bring Silver Samurai. Also I think the woman from the next episode is Yukio the ninja assasin |

I actually enjoyed this episode and might stick with it 2 or 3 more episodes (dropped Iron Man after first). As for the romance, throughout Wolverines history (comics, animated series) there has always been love interests lie Black Cat, Elektra, Jean Grey, Rogue, Silverfox, Storm, Mariko, and even Mystique. The art was good (not great), but it could be worse. Story was so-so but entertaining for an original Wolverine story (it sure is better than the Wolvering Movie). |

I didn't think Iron Man was that much of a failure, but it never really had those "Oh, this is turning interesting/awesome" or an interesting plot. The basic premise of Wolverine doesn't hype me up either, but the whole mafia thing plus the AIM thing plus awesome action scenes plus crazy sword skills equals a potentially entertaining series. Well, I said Iron Man wasn't a complete failure, but if Wolverine follows the same road to a "just nice" anime, bye bye. I have better things to do right now :P |

Oh wow, I actually enjoyed that. I was going to pass it up because of Iron Man, but I read the comments and they seemed generally approving in comparison. I can't say it is great, but it sure has hell is a lot better than Iron Man so far. |

Looks like theres one ACTUAL comic book fan other than myself. These stupid people only watch the movies and maybe the cartoons and act like they know anything about wolverine. I didnt know know it was based off of Frank Miller's Wolverine but now that i know that, im pretty excited. I liked the first episode. Wolverine character was a great adaptation. I was expecting the character to get ruined but hes pretty spot on. Im waiting for the classic cigar XD WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GO WOLVERINE!!!! My only problem is overuse of the name Logan. Every five seconds someone says Logan. |

Wasn't great, but wasn't bad. Maybe you should take a good hard look at posts 62 and 64. They are able to expand on the fact this is Wolverine. I may not be a comic reader like those two, but even I know enough about the history of the character to know this is him. Same thing with Iron Man really. People kept complaining that it wasn't Iron Man, but people were pulling facts from canon and relating it to the history of the character. On the other hand, though I haven't quite finished Iron Man yet, I do have to agree with others that this is way much bette. Anyways... I find it ironic that Iron Man, which everyone was going yay for before it was released go such a bad reception from the watchers while Wolverine, which people kept saying, oh my gosh, this isn't him is getting a better reception. It is kind of funny. |

I was really hoping it'd be good and had been itching to see it since I like X-men but like most of you I was disappointed. But I didn't think it was that bad. Aside from getting his ass kicked by and old dude with a wooden sword The show kind of has a late 80's, early 90's cartoon feel to it; like teenage mutant ninja turtles, except tmnt was good. Wow, I guess I didn't like it more than I thought I did or didn't, whatever. The only thing that'll save this for me is guest appearances. |

Dont tell me you expect Wolverine to sound like some teenage mutant punk voice.. For the haters: Mariko Yashida. Look at the entry, the character and romance involving Wolverine has been an integral part of the character FOR OVER 30 YEARS. There has always been romance in Wolverine stories. Get over it. This is actually one Marvel character that is actually appropriate in a Japanese setting. Moreover, this is the first animation I've seen Wolverine in where people actually bleed and die. Close to 20 years of watching kiddified Wolverine, this is quite refreshing. |

First there is no need to be rude we are all stating opinions here, of which we are entitled to have our own but since you asked... No I certainly did not think he would sound like a teenage mutant ninja punk voice--only that the animation looks like one from that era and I'm not talking anime from that time. I mean american cartoon animation. I think Logan should have a deep voice but this one seems forced--like the seiyu doesn't normally have a deep voice. The scream and rage were fine but it is his regular talking voice that I have a problem with. Also I don't think it fits with the new character design. As far as anime standards go... If your not a professional in the industry, which I suspect is the case, then your really not qualified to knock someone else's opinion on one episode of one series. Standards change all the time. |

I thought there was something with that girl...In an episode of one of the X-men series there was a brief part with a woman in a kimono as a love interest for Logan but it didn't do anything with that(it was more of a flashback, I think). Do you know if this is the story with that woman or something entirely different. I just came across a huge box of comics, I should check for this. |

There were at least three or four japanese women in wolverine's life. There was Atsuko who got murdered. Then there was Itsu, with whom he lived for quite some time and had a son, Daken. She was murdered too. Then there was Mariko. The woman in flashback was most likely Itsu. Wolverine had many love interests, main known and important ones being Mariko, Itsu and Jean Grey. |

meh. allow me to elaborate for the few that give a shit, i'm putting this in spoilers to as to avoid a giant wall of text that no one will probably read anyway. more or less my quarrel with the show is as follows: nowhere in the multiverse of marvel does this show fit. i dont know who that girl was that's the daughter of the japanese crime lord or whatever... but she doesn't exist in my marvel world. i've never heard of her and these characters were just made up for this one series. that's great and all if this is supposed to be attributed to a different "earth" or universe like the iron man anime; but even so... that one sucks too. i realise i'm kind of rambling here... but it's a little ridiculous. after heroman, i kinda figured that would be stan lee's last venture into the world of anime. and much to the chagrin of myself and countless other comicfags/anime viewers... it wasn't. i understand that the marvel timeline isn't exactly linear... but this shit simply doesn't fit. also, wolverine's appearance is somewhat underwhelming and the VA that's playing him really seems like he's trying too hard and doesn't fit the part at all. i gave this episode 3 stars because i WANT to like it. i really just don't see it happening. so again, i say, meh. |

Quite impressed with the quality of this ep, the animation, particularly the action sequences, where amazing. Not sure how to feel about Logan looking burnt when he heals. The detailing on his teeth looked too much as well, plus his sideburns are like AN INCH FROM HIS EYE (!?) but yeah, as a Wolverine fan I have high hopes for this. Marvel is giving it another chance at produccing anime. Ironman to me was a train wreck from the start, it felt like they created a story with Tony Stark in it not the other way around but anyways... Wolverine. So far I like what I see, the animation looks nice with a old school touch. Soundtrack is meh and the story is not bad at all. I mean sure tragic love stories are not original but Wolverine from the comic is caught up in it too. |
