*facedesk* 1. Multiple Personality Disorder does not work that way. 2. Even if it did, psychologists are considering removing it from the next edition of the DSM because of lack of evidence for its existence. 3. It's a terrible, overused, horribly cliche'd plot device. Especially for a serial killer type character. This was (amazingly) even worse than the last movie. Predictable does not even begin to describe it. It was obvious that Shiki (or "SHIKI") was the killer when that random student approached her in the hallway. (And speaking of that random student, what the hell happened to him?) Her motive was also clear by the time she revealed that she had two personalities. And finally, the little bit of suspense - Is she going to kill Kokuto? - was a completely moot point because we saw both of them in an older form - alive and well - last movie. By that same logic, Shiki will not be caught, or else she will get off easy if she is caught. Even the music took a dip this episode. 3/10, because I'm generous. |

Shiki... Shiki is cute but.. Shiki had inherited the special blood of the Ryougi, it makes her wanting to murder people. All her victims died in a rather gruesome way... Although Kokutou bear witness to the case of the sixth victim who got beheaded, Kokutou decided to lie to Daisuke, his older brother who seems to be the lead investigator of the case claiming that he didn't see anybody. After that, Kokutou decides to wait for Shiki every evening to a certain time while sitting on the bamboo grove, drinking coffee. It somehow ended up as his hobby of some sort. Regardless of the rain and snow, Kokutou would always sit outside Shiki's home on the bamboo grove, drinking coffee. One rainy night, however.. Shiki decided to appear in front of him finally, Shiki was wet in her red kimono and thus, Kokutou decided to get her a towel from his backpack when Shiki assaulted him, slashing his arm, then chased him down the road, seeking to murder him and making him the 7th victim but.. In the end, Shiki broke into tears and couldn't kill Kokutou.. Although Kokutou and Shiki liked each other a lot but I am sure if this anime can be categorized as romance.. Somehow, after the incident, Shiki was hospitalized and Kokutou goes to visit her at the hospital everyday. Next episode... So, this is how Shiki loses a hand and ended up with a bio-mechanical one? A murder clash between two special bloodlines that are both filled with a special power and murderous intention. |

It really does have a twisted plotline, but with the animation and storytelling so intense and great. It would really feel good when you're watching it at night, just staring at your monitor. LOL!!! That relaxed me a bit and it's really good. They don't wanna waste animating a single frame... 9/10 |

I didnt really like this one. Too much chatting, and Shiki seems very confused. Another movie with questions unanswered. |

This movie didn't need as much focus as the last one. I loved it, but the first one felt more like poetry to me. I like the first and second equally though, just in different ways. |

I liked this slightly better than the first movie mainly because it fleshed out the characters a bit more. It definitely gave them more personality... and this Shiki/SHIKI split personality is very interesting. Other than that it was full of stellar animation and sound. 9/10 |

You think insulting my favourite shows somehow makes KnK good? Sorry but no. I agree KnK requires thinking. That's all very nice and all, but the pace is incredibly slow. They stretch it way too much. Maybe you are a slow thinker so this pace seems fine to you? Because it's far too slow for my thinking. Oh yeah, you don't need to reply to this. As I am unlikely to bother checking this thread again. |

great movie! I give 9/10! The animations, light effects, fights, etc. were really really great like in the first part. But this one was really thrilling, it focussed just on two characters and was psycho in a nice way, because you couldn't clearly say if shiki was good or bad till the end^^ My recommendation would be to watch this part BEFORE the first part, because else you know that everything is going to be good^^ Really great one, can't wait watching the next one :-) |

I've been very curious - and this is not explained in the novel either - who is the boy who approached Shiki at the school hallway (before the singing in the rain humming scene) and said "isn't four times a bit too much though?"? Shiki was irritated by this remark, and the boy, as far I've watched, doesn't appear anywhere else. So why would he know what Shiki has done? Is the boy actually the male SHIKI within her? Any answers or theories? |

Come on man... Higurashi is a good anime no matter how you look at it. The story is nice, and the atmosphere is creepy. I love this series as well, the artstyle, music, story, etc is all absolutely fantastic, and the atmosphere is reminiscent of some of the old Silent Hill games in my opinion. But seriously, why the hate for Higurashi? |

Any answers or theories? I don't know for sure but I'll put my theory in a spoiler in case I'm right. My guess is he's the real killer and the reason he said the four times thing was because she showed up at the crime scenes moments after the murders occurred and he saw her each time. Don't know if that's right but it's the only way someone she doesn't know would know about her being at the crime scenes. |

Once again, the art and animation were gorgeous. Especially the scene where Mikiya was running from Shiki. Overall, this movie was better than the first one. It had lots of character development, contrasting with the complete lack of it in the first movie and the story was a bit more engaging and understandable though it still left me with a whole lot of questions. But as lots of people say they will be answered, I'll keep watching this series though I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Satsujin Kousatsu earns a 8/10 from me. One more point than its predecessor. |

Glad to see I'm not alone in disliking this series so far. Kokutou reminds me of Emiya Shirou, and that's a very, very bad thing. Why can't these guys be somewhat normal and actually care about staying alive? If there's a reason, I won't find out since I'll probably drop this series. Even the heroine turned into a bad character in this one. 6/10 |

I think it's important, especially since all films are now out, to view this as one big body of work. That said, I decided to re-watch this series and I have to say I liked this alot better this time around. It wasn't dragged out, it just took it's time to set certain scenes and, though some of Mikiya's actions were sort of strange, I thought it was a very well done and understated story that is meant to establish the relationship between the two leads. |

Once again, superb art and animation with a great soundtrack; yet still lack of any story that drew me in or captivated my interest beyond the scenery porn. The characters still don't make much sense to me and I sincerely hope the rest of the movies will clear things up. |

wow another great movie, It seemed a tad slower paced than the first, but that wasn't necisarily a bad thing at all, there were a few creepy moments. I also thought the scene in the bamboo forest was just top notch tbh! I'd watch this series just for the animation alone..... but luckily for me, it has such a deep an interesting plot line to go with it.... cannot wait to see the next one!! *loads movie 3* |

SeraVerte said: The characters still don't make much sense to me and I sincerely hope the rest of the movies will clear things up. Story denotes to sequence of events under a specific narrative form, which this movie definitely has so I don't get where you're going at. Not to mention this pretty much establishes the background of the main characters. Also the movie is pretty blatant in telling us what these characters are all about. Shiki is an eccentric, anti-social girl who's pretty insane but finds comfort in Mikiya's company despite her murderous impulse. Mikiya recognizes her loneliness and completely falls for her. He's dedicated enough to prove her innocence, but smart enough to watch out for his own neck once Shiki goes stabby-stabby. |
