i feel bad for rey... :(( but his wife will sure be joining the case against kira now.. she was a former FBI agent after all... and she was the only one who noticed something suspicious in that bus scene when even rey didn't... anyway... L exposing himself... i guess we'll start seeing L's capabilities now...

Ohohohoho that Kira... Wicked.... He's a wicked Serial Killer... My god I can't believe how easy he managed to kill the poor Ray Penber.... And suddenly kill the other 11 FBI that were in Japan.... He's a really intelligent guy... and sadistic and intelligent guy... and Heck now he managed to finally make L show to the real world.... Loved the moment when Raito used heavy class psychology to make the poor Ray believe him and do everything he wanted.... Interesting indeed

Light says he's about justice, but he's just a power hungry sadistic killer.

I like the show so far for the production values and the cat-and-mouse game, but I've never seen a show where the lead character is so dislikeable... His hipocrisy is astounding.

It's one thing if he realizes what he's doing is wrong , and lives with that burden before finally writing his own name in the Death Note, but no, he kills innocent people without a second thought.

meh, i didn't like Ray anyway, he was a sexist pig, telling his wife she'd forget all about being an agent (a job he made her quit) when she'd be so "busy" with the kids they'd have. good riddance

My thoughts exactly. Kinda liked his character up to that point, but this knocked him down big time. And she even smiled when he said it, come on! But it is nice that another set of brains will join the hunt.

Another genius plan by Light. And I gotta say the creators showing Light slowly turn into a villain is very unique.

Now that Ray's wife is in the case., and the police are getting closer with working with "L" things are about to get crazy.
Plus what Light did with the envelope so he can get rid of the FBI agents was clever. >:3

Light has become some sort of super-villian huh? He's the perfect anti-hero.
The way he finished off Ray was brutal...

Well originally he only killed bastard criminals etc but i guess if he hadn't killed ray, ray would've remembered the voice and pieced things together eventually =\ so i guess it was manditory cutting him out of the picture. I can see light becoming obsessed with power and a villian himself by the end of this however

Light keeps blowing me away. Seriously. I really don't think, though, that he had to kill alllll of those FBI agents. It was just tooo much.
Oh, and I sooo did not see it coming when he made Ray write the names of everyone on pieces of Death Note paper. That was just sickk...

So, right now, I kind of love light, but i kind of hate him, too.

I didn't know it was possible for an anime to be this good, not looking into art, animation, sound or music (which are all pretty good as well and contribute to the quality of this anime).

To those watching the anime and reaching this episode discussion, which side are you on? L or Light?

Go L, catch that guy.

For some reason I feel like he will kill his own dad. I hope that that is not the case. But I also have a feeling that the dad already knows. Also the fiancée of the FBI guy seem like will be a big player in this.

I'm more on Light's side but L has my full support as well. The ending will turn out to be most interesting if either side wins.

i don't think he's gonna kill his own father, he hid the death note in the first place, so he could protect his family

anyway, i'm pissed we didn't get to see l

i definetley agree with l, but i made a poll, and most people said they'd do what light's doing O.o

So he DID kill Ray, but in a kind of way, L does still not know who he is. He is genius, but L is too, so we will see a Brain-Battle now.

Btw, it is interesting, how this is hundreds of times more exciting than any action film or series. I really love these "thinking" series.

This is about where I am. I think I'd enjoy it more if Light could show a shred of humanity for killing a dozen innocent FBI agents. He could have easily avoided detection, he knew Ray didn't suspect him. The only reason to kill them all that I can see is to make the show more interesting.

Despite all my griping, I'm enjoying the show for what it is. It isn't a masterpiece, but it is still good fun to watch.

Rey's wife is one of a kind agent, who immediately got the incident's connection to Kira. Too bad Rey didn't want to listen her.

At this point Light is nothing more than a murderer. The Kira "ideal" becomes more and more corrupted as time passes.

I can only admire L for his move - instead of staying in the shadows, he's going out, showing himself for a first time - he's taking the Kira case seriously at full extent staying true to his principles for justice.

Light was already a vigilante before this, but now he has crossed a moral line that firmly places him as a murderer. Great show.

This episode was very ingriguing.
I think we finally will see the face of the L,and i feel soo bad about rey,he shouldn't have killed him ):
And it seems that his wife will take part in the investigations,so we may presume that she will discover something about Light, she wants to revenge the death of his husband/boyfriend.And from what i saw,it seems that she "see" things that rey couldn't....(i mean from that episode in the bus)

Daaamn. Light has it all planned! That train move was really well done. After Ray started to write down his comrades' names, I realized it was DN paper and I literally said "OH DAMN. CHECKMATE."

Fun show. Yup yup.
