Since there is no topic yet, I thought we should have one.
What will everybody watch from the spring season? For me it seems like a weak season, specially compared to autumn/winter that rocked hard.. There are some titles that I'll check out like xxxHolic 2, Wagaya no Oinari-sama and Glass Maiden among others, but there is really no title that I'm anticipating..

p.s. Da Capo II Second Season ... lol

Autumn 07 was crap compared to Spring 07 and Summer 07, Winter 08 was the best winter out of all the ones listed here

http://fansubwiki.com/Main_Page

As for what I'm watching for Spring 08... I'll be watching the first episode or two of the ones listed below, to someone with a balanced taste such as myself who can watch and appreciate any genre Spring looks fucking amazing, but each to their own.

Macross Frontier, Code Geass R2, Soul Eater, Kure-nai, Vampire Knight, To Love Ru, Library War, Allison and Lillia, Real Drive, Penguin Musume, Kanokon, Special A, Nabari no Ou, Kaiba, Golgo 13, Nijuu Mensou no Musume, Druaga no Tou, Wagaya no Oinari-sama, Blassreiter & Kamen no Maid Guy.

You should probably check out Library War btw Groove, it's shaping up to be the non mecha version of FMP crossed with Utena and Read or Die sans the special powers.

It looks like you'll be watching the first two episodes of everything :D
Thanks for the rec, and I'm almost done with FMP! btw, but it's not for this thread, I'll dig up the old one and write my opinion when I'm done with it :).

Check out these two blog posts linked in this post for pretty much the only real info available for Library War out atm

http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=1471110&postcount=13

As for watching two eps of everything, pretty much unless the show is fucking horrible and makes me want to delete the file after the first ep.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I do, only I also have the "watch first few weekly, stall it for a few weeks, watch a batch of 4-5 episodes, stall it again.." group.

Thx for the link, gonna read it right now.

Oh and yeah, Autumn 07 kicked butts, what are you talking about? :D

I think the only thing im looking forward to is Code Geass and maybe soul eater, altho having the japanese language voice over chick in it will get on my nerves. I think i might check out the gender bending furry too just to see if its entertaining.

I cant believe they made a sequal to Da Capo II. I swear my head nearly exploded when i saw that. Seriously, isn't the robot girl running out of fast moving metal objects to dive in front of? :P

The only show I know for sure I'll be watching is Code Geass 2. Otherwise, a show here and there based on critics and reviews. I'll be finishing some shows from previous seasons, too.

I actually might be more excited for the Summer 08 season than the Spring one.

I'll pretty much watch the first episode of everything and read reviews for the ones I've missed.

So, since most of the shows already got 1-2 episodes released, upping the thread.

Who's watching what and which shows are worth watching? I'm only watching xxxHolic Kei so far but potentially interested in picking up few more shows.

Copy paste from Suki

My Spring Impressions so far.

Title: Macross Frontier
Rating: A
Episodes Viewed: 2 (RAW for second)
I've talked enough about the first episode but omg the second episode was just as amazing and it might even be better once I can understand the dialogue. I have rewatched the intense and thrilling sequence from 2:44 to 6:44 about 8 times since I got the raw and I can't give that sequence enough praise. The action was just amazing and the 3-4 bgms played were just epic and perfect for the occasion.

Title: Soul Eater
Rating: B
Episodes Viewed: 1
Fantastic intro, great animation, nice music and a very good first episode. The manga gets a lot better than the one shot they covered here so I'm really looking forward to seeing more.

Title: Kure-nai
Rating: B
Episodes Viewed: 1
I liked the manga but I feel the anime has definitely started out better since it explains how the two characters meet in the first place. I'm hoping this is one of the better shows this season, looks gorgeous as well and it has my fav ED this season so far.

Title: Library War
Rating: B
Episodes Viewed: 1 (raw)
Lush animation, nice music and I love the thick line art for it, op/ed are good and the dojo scene was nice. Looking forward to watching the subs so I can get a better grasp of what was going on.

Title: Druaga no Tou
Rating: B-
Episodes Viewed: 1
Just hilarious, I loved the anime/rpg cliches it poked fun at, this was a big surprise from Gonzo, I'm hoping it stays good but we'll see.

Title: Vampire Knight
Rating: B-
Episodes Viewed: 1
I've read 20 chapters of the manga and this was a nice adaption of the first chapter, Miyano Mamoru nails the voice for Zero as expected.

Title: Code Geass R2
Rating: C+
Episodes Viewed: 1
Was a nice start but this episode was far from one of the better ones in the series, I enjoyed the retread/mimicking of the first episode from S1 but now its time for all new stuff.

Title: Itazura na Kiss
Rating: C+
Episodes Viewed: 1
I really enjoyed this and I'm looking forward to more, Nana Mizuki is doing a great job with Kotoko.

Title: Wagaya no Oinari-sama
Rating: C
Episodes Viewed: 1
Average in every way except for Yukana's voice acting but the source material is award winning so I'll keep watching.

Title: Kamen no Maid Guy
Rating: C
Episodes Viewed: 1
Out of the 3 fanservice comedy's this had the best first episode, the conept of Kogarashi the Maid Guy is just absurd but hilarious as well.

Title: Special A
Rating: C-
Episodes Viewed: 1
I liked it but something just felt off to me for some reason.. the manga does improve but I just can't put my finger on what's wrong with this adaption...

Title: To Love Ru
Rating: D+
Episodes Viewed: 1
I've read the manga so wasn't expecting much since the manga takes a while to grow on you. Liked the OP.

Title: Kanokon
Rating: D-
Episodes Viewed: 1
This rubbed me the wrong way compared to the manga, the flashback would've been confusing for non manga readers too.. Noto can't voice young male characters very well... at least Ayako was good.

Title: Blassreiter
Rating: F
Episodes Viewed: 1
Not Dragonaut bad but bad enough.

Code Geass R2 episode 2 moves it up to #4 on my list, could be # 3 if Kurenai 02 isn't as good as the first.

Kurenai 02 was good stuff. The loli(forgot her name) got even cuter. There were some mildy cloody scenes.

I'm watching about 8 new shows from this season but only Code Geass 2 and Soul Eater are must see no matter what titles. I prefer Gundam style combat to missile spam but thats just me. I'm sure Macross Frontier will grow on me.

Allison and Lillia may become something to look forward to as i can see it has a lot to work with and i have warmed up to the two main characters already.

Get Vega to watch Blassreiter and unearth the hidden Gonzo fan within him! Its not that bad lol.

I have not watched much of the Spring season, becuase honestly there isn't a lot that interests me there. There are only three anime that stand out for me so far:

Macross F - After being totally blown away by the first episode months ago, I have been waiting eagerly for the regular season to start. Just two eps in now, and I'm still excited.

Kure-nai - I had not heard anything about this before I watched the first episode, but I was really intrigued by the storyline and found myself liking the characters, so I’ll be following this one.

Kanokon - Yeah, its a shallow, simple-minded fanservice show, but damn is it funny. I was laughing out loud at both episodes. Definitly a "guilty pleasure" but none the less I'll keep watching, laughing (and feeling guilty).

I'm not sure I'm going to be watching anything else from this season. Nothing else really catched my interest. I may use the time this frees up to get caught up on all the old stuff I want to watch but have not had time to.

Yeah it was a good episode

Tamaki - "I'm Shikurou-kun's woman."
Murasaki - "I can see that you're a woman."

Murasaki is <3

Looking forward to Murasaki and Yuuno meeting for the first time XD Those two are pretty fun in the manga.
