| Man, this series played with my emotions more than most. It was hard to resist flying through what has been released in one sitting like everyone else seems to have (I forced myself to read it in three separate, 24 chapter sittings). I'm unsure if my love of the romantic comedy genre played a huge part in how easy I found the series was to read, but it's certainly one of the few I COULD blaze through in one go; no matter how tired I feel. I even re-read multiple chapters, such as chapter 66, due to some of the 60+ releases on MangaFox having horrible translations. Until I went on OneManga and read K-Manga's release, I was left very confused by what Hae-Young said when she set the one month deadline. (Even now it strikes me as rather odd for her to have acted how she did when it's frickin' obvious she's in love with the guy, but I just put it down to the manga needing to continue and ignored it; me being happy to have more drama to look forward to. I'm easy like that.) The chapter 72 cliffhanger is as big of a cliffhanger as you can get. I'm glad we weren't left completely dark about what's going to happen next - the conversation with Hae-Young at the end pretty much ruling out Jin-Ho sleeping with his first love - but it's still horrible to have to wait so long to discover what's going to happen next in this emotionally absorbing drama. Since, unless Jin-Ho turns out to be a complete penis, it's pretty much certain he won't be getting any late night action at his school, I think what's going to happen is this: his first love is going to get rejected and, out of anger, lie to Hae-Young about sleeping with Jin-Ho. She's been shown to be a manipulative bitch, who's unhappy with her life, already at this stage, so her attempting to make Hae-Young doubt Jin-Ho isn't beyond the realms of possibility, and that seems to me to be the best way to extend the story at this stage. I mean, if Jin-Ho simply goes back to Hae-Young as it stands, after she's FINALLY confessed to liking him, then there won't be much more drama to milk, so SOMETHING has to go wrong in the next chapter or two. ...Anyway, for now, UxU is going to be my #2. I'm too impressed with how surprisingly well executed the relationship development between the main two has been for me not to favourite it, nine volumes in. I expected lots of ecchi nonsense, maybe even with characters both being as pathetic and fake as those in Please Teacher... and it's been almost the exact opposite of what I expected. The lead is anything but your typical harem lead; being aggressive to the point of beating up even females and direct about his feelings, and even Hae-Young is as believable of a stunning 26/27-year-old virgin as you can get. The drama, comedy, action, art--EVERYTHING has been superb. GIVE ME MORE, NOW!!!!! I'm going to have to re-read all 72 chapters to get back into it, assuming V10 won't be out/translated for a good few months, and I don't mind one bit. The only thing bothering me is having to wait so long for what I KNOW will be utterly absorbing greatness. |

| Ignoring the obvious teacherxstudent comparisons, I'm not sure what's similar about the two? The PT lead is your typical pathetic, would never be touched by a real woman type, and the teacher is the doormat/Belldandy type. Jin-Ho is the total opposite of PT's lead, him being extremely aggressive, and it'd be quite a stretch to describe Hae-Young as being a doormat, or to suggest she's an easy 2D lay. |

| The UxU 'Will they, won't they?' drama isn't going to end just yet. Remember that school president guy; the one who gave Hae-Young a lift home after his car hit her? Him getting friendly with her is certain to mean he'll re-enter the picture as a love interest for Hae-Young sooner or later. Before we see any studentxteacher mating, you can bet we're going to see Hae-Young agonizing over whether to go for an older, fully developed man or go for the toyboy option. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing Jin-Ho see them getting close and, as ever, flipping out--resulting in him getting suspended from school. Jin-Ho has already shown that he reacts with anger (note: when he thought someone had hurt Hae-Young, after her sister had slapped her) when he thinks anyone has harmed or touched Hae-Young, and I fully expect a school suspension subplot to be thrown into the mix. I'm guessing Jae-Kyung lying, making Hae-Young doubt Jin-Ho and give him the cold shoulder, will be what leads into the love triangle drama I mentioned in the first paragraph. Hae-Young has already questioned whether Jin-Ho is serious or if he'll turn into a player, and her doubting him seems the most logical way to continue the story without it advancing to the next stage just yet. |

| Is 72 the last chapter? It's been ~1 year since and still no chapter 73? What's the news on this? I find it hanging, though I find the story already ended with the teacher's confession.. EDIT: Ohh..I just read the note on the description, it returns on Fall 2010, few months from now, but why that long? |

| It'd ruin the series for 99.9% of the fanbase if the main two in a romance/rom-com didn't end up together. No-one in their right mind would come up with a story where the main two are constantly on the verge of getting it on during the entire story... and then end it by having them go there separate ways. If that did happen, it'd be 1/10 time. It WILL end with Jin-Ho and Hae-Young getting together, though--there's no doubt about that in my mind. Even the title pretty much spells it out: the two 'unbalances' referring to Jin-Ho and Hae-Young respectively. Jin-Ho is unbalanced because of his anger issues, him losing his temper with ease and lashing out with very little provocation. Hae-Young is unbalanced because of how uptight she is and inexperienced with men; her father issues having distorted her views and made her distrust males. And, in the end, the two unbalanced individuals, imperfect by nature, will come together and lick the wounds of the other; curing each other by becoming one. I was merely pointing out the key differences between UxU and PT that prevent me from thinking of the two as being even remotely similar. When you ignore the studentxteacher aspect, there's nothing linking the two since the characters are totally different; UxU's coming across more as real people and PT's coming across as fake, 2D drawings. |
