Nice golf isekai.

I can't help but smile when "Nyanko-sensei" talks.

Poor old dudes and their backs. They should take it more easy.

I really liked the virtual golf. Minami has learned some cool special moves.

And now it's time to find a new girl to the team.

Yes, you need to name your special moves and say them out loud while using them.

ngl, the story about isekai-ed golf player who uses her golf to defeat Maou was looking interesting.
Even though it's not a real one, it's still looking very interesting.

The girls did so well to beat the game and Minami's special move really came in handy.

This episode just reinforced my belief we need a birdie wing and sorairo collab bad. Lmao at Minami doing all that reading and trying to copy the golf isekai just for her to still be ass πŸ˜‚ this new golf game should help the girls improve and have fun too tho. Poor Minami over here thinking you could use skills from an anime irl, this ain’t that sort of show, girl!

This episode was very Birdie Wing-like. A fun episode. I would love to play on a virtual golf course like that, haha!

If that lady in the preview section for the next episode is a caddie then who's gonna be the fourth member of Minami's party for the upcoming tournment? Izumi? That rich looking girl from the opening?

I wasn't expecting the show to take shots at generic isekai shows but I'm here for it and yes, the pun was intended.

Such a great ending song, top three for me this season. I suppose second place HinaPiyo will be joining them team eventually.

The most hilarious part of this whole episode, even surpassing the geriatric ambulance trio, is the fact that that light novel parody doesn't even come off feeling like a parody. It seems like a light novel - both the title and whole story, which could extremely plausibly actually exist. I guess the isekai LN industry has started to become so much of a parody of itself in recent years that they couldn't resist this low hanging fruit target.

Beyond that, I love how they're unafraid to have rookie Minami regularly make the most greenhorn mistakes when making her shots, even on episode seven over halfway through the season/series. Or they're willing to devote half an episode or however large a portion of time just goofing off playing a virtual golf video game. Definitely the most "chill" and casual golf series I've seen, but probably the most chill and casual sports series in general I've seen, inside or outside anime. Maybe it would have a rival contender for that distinction if you count recreational fishing as a sport, but I think this is even more relaxed than those Slice of Life fishing series.

And there are so many series which would have been reluctant to having all the displays of Minami's inexperience and making some of the same recurring mistakes go past the end of the first episode. There's something to be said for how realistic this is and simultaneously how mellow. Oftentimes it's one or the other.

It's also sweet that no matter how many times or in which specific ways Minami screws up and manages to botch a shot, Haruka is never once discouraged or impatient with her. Like, at all, whatsoever. She only ever feels passion, enthusiasm, and excitement for wanting to help teach and guide her, and for having a new pupil fall into her lap who she can pour her time and energy into helping raise up as a golfer in her own right, in addition to her continued practice and improvement of her own game and skills. She's not just beautiful, but one of the kindest and most genuine characters. Like a guardian angel of golf.

I don't know, to me both the fantasy golf light novel (animated thanks to Minami's wild imagination) and the 80s golf boom manga parodies felt more like sincere homages to Japanese media about golf rather than just targets for mockery.

Amusing episode. Would have been hilarious if they mentioned Birdie Wing as inspiration for Minami to try over-the-top golf shots instead of that isekai light novel but well.

There have been some short crossover skits with the characters from Sorairo Utility and Birdie Wing: Golf Girls' Story. Whether or not they're official canon, I feel, is up to individual interpretation and head canon, but the implication seems to be that these series exist in the same universe. Which would mean that in the Sorairo Utility universe, Birdie Wing doesn't really exist and Eve and Aoi are real people, not fictional characters.

@WatchTillTandava Oh, I didn't know about those crossover skits. But considering the amount of collaborations between different anime out there, I would consider most of them as non-canon.

The episode was different from the usual ones with Minami, having influenced by the isekai stuff like a child does. The old guys were funny and amusing as always, as they showed there own secret moves to her, but ending up in ambulance. The manager calling the ambulance and looking at them like this is something normal for her was funny too.
