Aren't they skipping a lot? Or is the novel different in how the succession of events occurs? This should happen later.... I wonder how they will reconcile this.

@ComboSmooth no. But If you are concern about this thing maybe you should avoid the manga. Is much more explicit in many ways. The show is about how power corrupts and about how history is often written by the winners. Is about war, magic and the two sides of the debate if the goal excuses the means. Oh and not to spoil it but it also asks

I'm gonna say each week what they skipped (I'm not saying anything bad or trying to be negative just info)
They adapted 6 chapter (in the first 6 minutes they adapted 2 chapter)(if counting volume 0 there on 19 chapter if not on start of 16)
The changes: In the first scene the woman has clothe but in the manga she has no clothe, They skipped 5 really important pages lol of Kolnzell and Glenn back story which is really important imo. They skipped the first 6 pages where they wonder if kolnzell is somebody and that Glenn send troupes to find out about the prophecy,they skipped a backstory of the girl who wanted revenge for his brother which was 1 page also Wied and his brother 1 page back story, they chose to skip a page where a soldier says "before his blade becomes a tool of revenge agaibst the empire I will kill him even at the cost of my own life",5 more pages describing the village + Peppi determination how she wants to fight and save like Kolnzell,6 pages of Kolnzell having trauma for what Glenn did,skipped like 7 chapters on how the girl ppicks up the sword and almost strikes him but eventually it's Wied who strikes him,Wied back story which was 1 page,skipped 3 pages on how they found peepi and the others,skipped a page on how the bald guy said that he is the are under the protection of the landgrave army and that's it finally with some dialogue changes too and cutting a lot of dialogues

The whole underwear bit reminds me more of like Bastard!! or edgy dark fantasy stuff from the 80s/90s. I think its silly more than anything. Like, youre ceremonial revenge gear is panties lol

This episode annoyed me because of how bad certain scenes and moments were constructed. Notable examples being when that new girl, friend of eye-patch face (as you can tell, im great with names) attacked peepi/koinzell.
Then the hard cut to the village was awkward and so was when the smuggler cried after seeing people she saved (what felt awkward was how it happened, not the idea of it happening).

Lots of action, but Episode 3 seems to be disjoint from the first two. It mentions Koinzell's backstory a bit, but not too elaborate.

I'm getting lost.

Gonna put this anime on hold and read the manga. It's like Unnamed Memory where the source material is excellent but the adaptation is butchered.

Episode 3 completely destroyed everything I had gotten from Episodes 1 and 2. I never imagined the MC would be so pathetic and idiotic as to go after the seven heroes like a rabid dog—it ruined my experience. They’re trying way too hard to make the show appear mysterious. The flow of the episode was erratic, and I couldn’t enjoy the second half at all. Things didn’t make sense, and the pacing suddenly sped up way too much.

@ComboSmooth If they had kept the sex scenes, it would've been peak.

@Gnza those scenes are absolutely unnecessary to the story, and add to that that a grown-up is having sex with a kid, this is not peak at all, this is just so wrong

I was so hype when this show was announced as I had just started reading the manga but after 3 episodes I think I’m going to drop it. I know what’s going on and I’m even confused. They introduce Aht without showing why she was mad at Koinzell which I guess they could show later but IMO that needlessly complicates the plot.

With so much stuff being cut and censored I think I’m just going to go back to reading the manga. No idea why they are speed running through everything but it is making it impossible for me to enjoy it. Maybe someone who hasn’t read the manga might enjoy this more but I unfortunately am not.

Having read the manga when it was publishing and really liking it, I do think the anime adaptation is lacking.

It's not about the sex scenes or gore stuff, manga would have been still great without them.

The pace is really weird, the story and world building are, for now at least, not really well done, we don't know or understand shit.

It may be nostalgia-bias, but I really don't think I felt this weird about it with the start of the manga, or am I alone in that sentiment, fellow manga readers ?
