So I recently decided to finally get into One Piece and I’m loving it, I just finished Skypeia. However, my experience with OP is a bit weird. I’ve read the first three volumes, then I watched the live action and figured that it covered pretty much every important thing and jumped directly to the end of Arlong Park in the manga (the loguetown arc if I’m not wrong). Im planning on reading till somewhere near the end of Wano, and then continuing OP through the anime from Egghead. Is this a good idea or should I try smth else? I don’t want to watch the entire anime because I am very bad at staying committed to long shows and reading the manga is faster, however reading the manga and then catching up to the anime seems comfortable to me.

If you want to catch up with the series quickly I'd prefer the manga because the One Piece anime's pacing is terrible they only cover one chapter per episode (although I've still watched all 1100+ episodes)

Sure, do it if you want. I will only recommend instead to read/watch the East Blue Saga in the manga/anime instead of relying on the live-action.

If you want to switch to the anime because of the animation quality, then you should switch during Wano, maybe for act 3 of the arc, instead of waiting for Egghead

I caught up to Dressrosa using the anime back in the day and skipping the fillers and then read the manga from where the anime left off. I had pneumonia at the time so it went quickly

You can do that without a problem, what I would say is that you should read or watch the east blue saga and not rely on the live action. Dont get me wrong I liked the live action, but some stuff were poorly adapted, like Zoros back story, which was soulless.

I mean as I said, I alr read the first 3 volumes so stuff like zoros past I alr knew before watching the la, and I don’t rly want to read stuff which I alr know a lot about, so I’d rather not go back to east blue.

I mean its your decision at the end of the day, I just personally think its better to watch or read the east blue saga rather than continuing from where the live action ended.

read the whole manga (i recommend colored version) and just watch the well animated fights and episodes from wano and egghead for ex ep 1015, sanji vs queen, zoro vs king, garp vs aokiji etc

Yes, you can do it like that if you like/want.

But I would personally recommend you to also reread the East Blue Saga from the beginning, since the Live Action adapted some of the manga arcs (a bit) different from the manga.

Eg. Syrup Village, Baratie, and especially Cocoyashi Villiage/Arlong Park.

But (ofc) at the end, it's still your decision.

Do what you feel is the best.
