I still can't grasp why Haschwalth betrayed Bazz like that. I mean, just because the big boss says that they see potential in Haschwalt, he completely forgets all of this time with Bazz & switches sides just like that?
I just can't wrap my head around this treason.

Haschwalth was never really aboard the revenge train. He was just following and helping Bazz grow in power because he didn't have anyone else left in his life.

@Yaggamy I see your point. You might actually be correct.
So, do you think Haschwalt ever thought of Bazz as a friend? Or, was it just, like you've mentioned, just the available company since he had no one at the time?

Bazz was the closest thing to a friend in Haschwalt's life. He never got close to anyone else in a similar way.

If you think about it Haschwalt was stuck in between a rock and a hard place. There was no way of him not going with Yhwach to his castle. Also there was no way of going back to their old relationship with Bazz once the cat was out of the bag that Bazz wasn't a prodigy but Haschwalt was the one instead.
And if Haschwalt didn't stop Bazz's arrow he would be dead for attacking Yhwach.

So he saved Bazz's life multiple times by keeping him in line and stopping fights. There's a scene in the manga where Bazz is about to object to Yhwach choosing Uryu as his successor but Haschwalt stops him. This is changed in the anime and they just stare at each other menacingly.

He also kept the token he got from Bazz, it's embedded in his sword's hilt.

Love how Bazz B's story was handled here, it always felt incomplete in the manga

@Yaggamy
I haven't read the manga so maybe I'm missing on some gestures between the both of them.
But Thank You for replying & explaining all of this :)

Holy crap amazing episode and thank god we finally got some good quincy flashbacks that have been long overdue. Makes me wish we got to know more about the other quincies that have fought already. Two characters I didn't care about pull up to fight and it's the best episode of cour 3.

@Ionliosite2 Naruto is definitely not on the same ballpark of writing lol--Kishimoto is a vastly inferior writer and artist to both Kubo and Oda and you can see that in the way he manages his legacy compared to the other two. Shippuden was objectively bad.

Shippuden has a few Arcs that are nothing short of a masterpiece. The original series was bad in comparison

Damn Jugo dgaf about Bazz.
The backstory was well done, actually wish we got to see more of Bazz now.

Brilliant production as always!
@Aozure I got the impression he does care, at the end when walking up the stairs he kinda looked sad in a way looking down, he also still uses the sword he found at his place, maybe im overthinking or misjudging but it's how I feel.
After this backstory I also wanted to see more of Bazz B :( RIP.

The word is overused but this was actually peak. Not only the best episode of the season, but one of the best of TYBW and the series as a whole.

Booooooooring, I don't give a shit about these dudes. We wasted a whole episode on the backstory of a dude who died the same episode and the right hand of the villain with the personality of dry straw.

Perfect episode, the direction stands out, and the construction of the relationship between Bazz and Jugo is very well done.

@TheBladeIsMe lmao! Bleach fanboys are so hilariously delusional sometimes, and you putting Bleach at the same writing level as One Piece is actually offensive, it wasnt Kishimoto or Oda who pretty much ruined their manga reputation and sales in Japan because of a single bad arc which was pretty much just a copycat of YuYu Hakusho Sensui arc in the end.

This was such an emotional episode. I can’t believe they went the sexual abuse route with Jugram and his uncle. And seeing his relationship with Bazz-B was cool. From friends to enemies. (9/10)

Perfectly paced and executed. A great story in it of itself.

Little else to add but the fact that when there is a timid blonde boy to be cast Marina Inoue always gets the role xD

Great backstory for Bazz and Jugo regarding their quest to kill Yhwach but it ends up that Jugo just joined Yhwach and stays loyal while being the captain of his new army while Bazz doesn't forget his goal and convictions and still infiltrates them in order to kill Yhwach but sadly failed in the end... RIP Bazz he didn't deserve to be killed by his former friend, I hope they'll avenge him.

This is probably the most lore we've ever seen regarding Quincy's society. I thought that Yhwach being the supreme creator and King would have unconditional loyalty and authority over all the Quincy but it seems that was not really the case, his power sure is THE ALMIGHTY, but his authority is anything but.

This is the same story told countless times in Shonen... The friendship story of the chosen genius with the not-so-special talentless hard worker. Only that the role is ultimately switched where it turned out that Jugram was the genius, hardworking, chosen one. But what's weird is how he came to devote himself to Yhwach in that very instance where Yhwach praised his latent potential.
They've lived and trained for years together yet in the 1 instance where he got commended for his power, he turned his back on Bazz-B. Damn, he truly is a traitor, the worst kind.

In his final moments, Bazz-B has managed to fight and die at the hands of his former best friend.
This is the END of their story as friEND.

Oh wow what a backstory from Bazz-B & Haschwalth.

Didn't expect they are childhood friends.

Another great episode 👏👏👏
