I don't know why you find just this annoying. There's plenty of shows that's worse than this in disguises. At least Ryoga changes forms. There some they put on goggles and people don't know who they are.

It’s still so early in the remake. If enough people have expressed their dislike towards Akane never finding out Ryoga’s P-Chan, then maybe they’ll change the story ever so slightly to appeal to a more modern audience.

The real annoying thing is people making separate threads asking the same thing.

This is a gag comedy series. It's precisely the idea of the show that Akane never finds out who the pig really is. If you find that too annoying then you'd better off just dropping and moving forward to something else you can approve.

Never thought people would ever hate Ryoga, since he's one of the most popular characters in Ranma 1/2. It's usually Happosai that everyone hates.

Anyway, Ryoga appears throughout the manga. He's a recurring supporting character. No, Akane never finds out (unfortunately). I've read the manga. He's not in every single episode, but still in most of the episodes.

Rumiko-sensei is kinda known for writing characters that you will either absolutely adore or despise with a burning passion. Absolutely nothing in between. And what I mean by this is that character's traits are heavily exaggerated.
Urusei Yatsura was a huge miss for me, with almost every character being completely insufferable. Here is kinda better. Also, there are a lot of nice feet.

@Piromysl Ye I get it and agree. For me I also found many urusei yatsura characters annoying but none of them was completely ruining it for me like Ryuga. Here in comparison is indeed better overall except Ryuga that is.

No, I love Ryoga/P-Chan. He is my favorite character. Plus, it got better when Iearn that Damen Haas from Smosh voicing him. Now, all I hear is Damen when Ryoga speaks.

@MegamiRem idk if he does later in the manga but throughout the 100+ episodes of the anime he doesn't grow at all. tbh i knew he was a shit character when his biggest concern wasn't that he's lying to her but rather that it'll be all over for him once akane finds out, no more affection, and that she'll finally think of him as worse than ranma (which he actually is lol) and that's why he's forever stuck being a p.o.s.

So for what it's worth, the pig gags become less and less frequent. Early into both the manga and original anime, I hated him, but over time his stories seem to focus more on being Ranma's frienemy, and he later became my favorite character.

Sleeping with Akane is a terrible thing to do for sure, but I also realize that, as a fictional character who isn't harming anybody in real life, I can focus on the things I DO like about him and ignore the things I don't. I feel that as the story progresses, he's more of a heartbroken wandering loser (literally wandering, due to his lack of direction), and a lot of his stories and up being wildly entertaining.

On top of that, when you take a look at the cast you'll realize Ranma doesn't really have any friends. He's constantly rude to everybody and hotheaded about being the best at everything. (But once again, like Ryoga, that doesn't ruin him for me, because it's fiction and he still has other good traits and is entertaining to watch)

With this is mind, Ryoga seems to be the closest thing Ranma has to a male friend. It's more of a frienemies thing for sure, but that's more than I can say for any of the other guys Ranma will meet throughout the series. He's also Ranma's best rival, actually giving him a run for his money at times.

TLDR; Ranma and Ryoga are both fictional characters with good traits and bad traits, but at the end of the day they're each others' best frienemies and rivals.
