Dating Apps are glorified scams like seriously 60000 yen
And bro managed to get matched with a Single Mom 🤣🤣🤣🤣
And Gon Chan is such an Oofy Doofy and got hooked on a delusional fantasy after bare minimum contact with a woman and choked when having to make a decision
These dudes don't get happy endings
@SoulReaper85 so single mom not allow to have dating life huh?

I disagree with the volume of disdain for a single mom with a healthy infant or young toddler, and maybe even a track record of how functional at work, childcare, managing to have a social life and a hobby. I have raised three of my own children. Raising one from late infancy or early toddler seems like a bargain. You miss two of the most stressful, anxiety generating, and burdensome parts of fatherhood, pregnancy and early infancy, and you get a a child with less uncertainty about health, ready for bonding with a father who will raise him.
If man wants a family, are a few percent more commonality of nucleotides all that more significant to ones legacy than years of support, affection, education, love, and growth?

This anime is such a drag. After like 3 minutes of the fat guy's story I kept skipping to see if the main characters would do anything in the episode but nope. Feels like this show would make more sense as an anthology where every episode is about another random couple. When I watch romcom it's to watch two people learn about each other, fall in love, figure out stuff together, but here the couple barely interacts and just watch other people do stuff and walk away with life lessons. Just such a weird format that lives me with no laughs and no warm fuzzies.

Kinda hits hard to me.

I relate with Gonda, can't blame him. I was at the same situation. She asked me out. It's really hard to be in that situation. You can't just be ready for it, it's practically taking two people in. Responsibilities - financially and mentally. That's when I realized I was still a "kid" that time.

I find it weird that nobody here has noticed the fact that the girl just outright lied to our big man. Not putting that you are a single mother on your dating profile from the start is SO disingenuous and deceptive. 90% of men do NOT want to raise another mans child, for a multitude of reasons. So just pretending that you have normal circumstances and leading on guys like that is so bad.

I can see maybe she didn't put it on there, because well like I said, most men do not want anything to do with a single mother ( rightfully so ) and by hiding this fact she gets a lot more dates.....but that's just delaying the inevitable....Men are typically more desperate to get with a woman, and would put up with the burden, so honestly just being honest from the start would just be a better option, as the woman would still get a decent amount of matches despite having a kid. That way things would be transparent and expectations would be set.
@DoctorWasabi
I don’t think Gonda saw her dating profile. IIRC, Gonda said that no responded when he contacted people thru their profiles, but the dating app has a community area where people with similar interests could meet and talk. When they first met, they didn’t know what each other looked like. She hid the fact that she is a single parent, but she didn’t lie on her profile.

By meeting in the community instead of the dating profiles, is there an expectation that to meet is to start a romantic relationship? It’s not clear because there’s no profile so users don’t know the sexual orientation of the other people in the community. Maybe it’s just unsaid.

@DoctorWasabi They meet in a community for fans of an idol, not through the matching of the app.
Is like if you met a user in here, not the place to specify. She even treated him right as a friend and not as dates for the little we saw and the moment he wanted to be involved romantically the first thing she did is make sure he knew what he was getting into, so your analysis feels wrong and the opposite of the truth.

That said, she, or not exactly she but her friend, lied in a big thing.
The friend said that this girl would never use her child as a mean of deterring a man for trying to go out with her, but she gave him less than a fucking minute to process everything in front of his eyes before leaving with a "I thought so" and by the time the dude has fully processed and is going to answer the question she sends another woman in her place.
Bad faith behaviour right there in that front.

He already saw that the woman was a single mother, the question here is, if they had already seen and spoken to each other so many times, then: why didn't she tell him that she already had a child?

The past few episodes left things out of the side characters and switches back to main story view. But maybe it will be shown later? Or that’s up to our thinking what we make of it.

Since I ideally like following and maximum focus being spent on the main characters, especially when it's two or a very few main characters, especially with some sort of romantic dynamic at play, I usually detest in series like that when side characters randomly hijack an episode out of nowhere and dominate most or all of the screentime in it (regardless of it here all being connected thematically to the broader story about uncertainty of romantic endeavors and trials and tribulations of modern romance and all that). But here, I honestly cannot say that I hate it. Admittedly was a little disappointed and turned off at first when it became apparent very quickly after the first few minutes of the episode that they weren't going to move into really right away continuing and building upon the storyline from last episode, especially with the the serious Honjouji scarcity.

But at the same time the main characters and main plot itself don't seem...all that important? So it comes across as less of a big deal to me when they want to spin their wheels in place for however long and take detours. Don't get me wrong - that sounds like a criticism against or some dig at the show, but it really isn't. I just mean that the main plot is in many respects so low stakes and the two leads have such a lack of any sense of urgency even to speak, having to psychologically prep and internally work themselves up to even engaging in brief civil and polite conversations of a few minutes long apiece, that it seems unimportant if we divert to hang out with the supporting characters instead as even when Honjouji and Takuya are both onscreen together, it's not uncommon for very little to no real progress to be made anyway.

I guess that the only real "stakes" (well, besides the open question of whether they'll have any form of real romance flourish which would require them both opening their minds to dispel their self-inferiority and inadequacy complexes and opening their mouths to each other more, but I'm talking a time-sensitive one) is the now-less-than-a-year countdown to the date when employees from their office are supposed to be selected to depart for Anchorage. And whether anyone in their office will still care or be talking about their "marriage" by that point, whether they couldn't keep the ruse going or whether it will cease even being a ruse and become something authentic or closer to the truth by then than it is now. But it's treated as such a distant tertiary concern at this point it's whatever.

Yeah it’s all quite confusing with the plot switching but that’s what makes me want to keep watching.

This episode revolves around Gonda, yeah literally only Gonda. He's trying so hard to find a partner through a dating app. However, this time is also a historic event for him. I feel bad for him, but that was an important lesson for him.

The thing that annoys me the post is Rika acting like a schoolgirl with the insane amounts of overthinking. And Takuya being a wimp and sulking over asking her out and not getting a response. Did he ever sit down and think he didn't get a response bc she was drunk?! Why can't they act like adults? Jfc. I mean Takuya and Rika don't even act like a couple in the office. Why is no one questioning that? And did they even see each other at work during this episode?

Gonda spent ~$400 on the app... they've only talked about Am7 and he's already determined to marry her? I hope it works out tho bc that was pretty cute :') I wonder how she became a single mom though. I didn't know Gonda was going to be chill like that though.

Its funny they went back to the deep sea bar after what happened with their coworker lol

I like how the side characters in this anime have more intrigue to them than our main cast lol

@DoctorWasabi I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. Although, I only started to realize that with this episode

Episode 8 was definitely the best episode I’ve seen of this anime so far—it was truly amazing. Maybe the only issue was that it felt a bit short and fast-paced, which is understandable for a side character. But it did such a beautiful job of showing the weight of responsibility and the importance of the task at hand. It also conveyed how one really needs to be prepared for marriage and starting a family. I really enjoyed it and felt it portrayed the situation so well. Absolutely fantastic!

Welp, Rika feeling tense soreness throughout her body after the harrowing night, and more than Shinshi coming back with a blonde hair of all things, Takuya is unfortunately stuck being held by the reply to Rika, and has to have Gonda bail him out on his day off...because he's matched with a girl on a dating app. And for the guy who once set his sights on Komiya, trying something else is quite the endeavour, though this is not the date that Takuya is expecting...with the offline community fellow idol Otaku meet, and he earned quite the woman on his hands to have a good time, and expecting more out of his newfound relationship.

It's honestly hilarious seeing Gonda so fired about Kaori, but to speedrun and add marriage to the table, it's quite the haste that Takuya could not debate with his tryst with Rika. But Gonda is quite the man who wants a charming romantic life, and like friends for years, Takuya having his back is emblematic. Of course, the truth gets revealed quick, but to have Kaori reveal herself as a single mother taking care of her child and Gonda literally not being prepared to face the truth, it took yet another friend of hers (Ichika) from the same day care to explain things and then let reality sink in.

Even if it's just a lil' bit, for both Gonda and Kaori to get together, it may be a pipedream, but there's hope to reconcile.

Guys who jump the gun never get a happy ending. Gonda wasn't really thinking about it as broadly as he should have, and yeah rightfully, he learnt. I just hope this doesn't mean that girl has completely shut down Gonda, as in the end, his intentions were never actually wrong.

Hope the main pair take a note or two and actually do something about the awkwardness between them. Also hey, did the divorce happen or not? He dyed his hair blonde, I mean xD

Surprised there isn't a hangover and it's just physical pain. Really, she owed Ohara the yes but instead he got to be depressed through the morning. Poor dude suffering from his scenario

And coworker wants to spend 60K on rental girlfriends? Dude is almost reaching Kazuya levels out here XD but hey. He has an idol girl friend to hang out with. She actually does look kinda pretty, all things considered. Coworker can give up office romance with no regrets now. Just take the idol fan.

The dream scenario where an app leads to W?

Idk, maybe it could have been a W. But how quickly he jumps into it.. and she has a kid. The way she turns her switch on him XD

Dude could have said yes and he'd have a wife + kid to himself. Welp, although I suppose jumping right into raising a kid does burden the wallet some.

Let Gonda have Kaori. I want the idol family.

Gonda was super rushed on marrying someone just because he envies people who are already married. He only sees the vision of the positives part and not the negative side.

Not to mention he wasn't really thinking fully of it. Forgot how responsibility has a huge impact when making a family. Especially the part when he sees that she's a single mother.

I'm sure Gonda can surpass this and actually mature and get serious about deciding whether about making a family and maintaining overall life.

Edited: I forgot to mention her not saying that she's a single mother is so bad. It's like you planned this all along so he can have a good memory with you but also gave him pressure revealing this late. Kinda disappointed.

Gonda might be the best character in the show. Also, I don't think this sort of situation is covered very often in romance anime
