| Several sort of subplots this episode with the painter robot was really being control remotely and was definitely connected to Pluto. Perhaps it was actually Pluto's mind being transferred into the robot as he was recovering from his fight with Brando. It seems like Brando wasn't just talking shit and actually did some real damage. But Pluto is back to normal now. Anyway beside that with have racist Adolf and his racist cult in robes lmao. A little on the nose but I'm curious where this will go. Obviously it's connected to Gesicht with them trying to kill him. There is also significant evidence that Gesicht and his wife's memories had been replaced from a few years ago. He confirmed his memory of meeting that random detective were real, so it seems he's going to narrow in on exactly what/when memories had been replaced. |
| Gesicht's war flashback hit hard since I couldn't help but think about the awful things going on in Gaza at the moment. Free Palestine. Anyway, this is fantastic stuff. The social commentary's heavy handed and extremely on-the-nose (they named a guy in a violent separatist movement Adolf) but it's nevertheless impactful and thought provoking. It's also probably the best a Netflix original anime has ever looked, and that's a very high bar since they also have Devilman Crybaby and Cyberpunk Edgerunners. |
