Do you think that original Ranma 1/2 anime can be considered as iconic as greats like Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, Akira, Pokemon, Digimon, Neon Genesis Evangelion, etc...?
| in terms of animation quality or visual quality overall i say its a classic but the story is kinda repetitive and the main plot is slow to progress and its incomplete adaptation of the manga too |
| So much anime exist nowadays that monopolies on popularity are no longer possible. I doubt even dbz if it released nowadays could stand out as much in the modern landscape. I do think ranma is a huge cult hit in the anime fandom. |

| Popularity is not exactly the same as being iconic, but I've heard of every other anime in the title besides Ranma which I've only found out about some weeks ago due to the remake. It seems pretty fun so far tho, so I'm looking forward to seeing the rest out. |

| Serious answer: Ranma ½ established multiple tropes that are considered mainstream, even overdone, now. Takahashi, at least in her early career, was one of the groudbreakers of several genres. While the series itself might not have as much popularity as some of her other ones by comparison & has certainly been overshadowed by more recent series' massive popularity both in Japan & around the world, Ranma ½ is what would be considered "iconic" by nature of setting the mold for so many series that have come since. (That said, it's not as though it's ever become *unpopular*, it just didn't maintain the same level of popularity as it had in its heyday, nor did it reach the level of her other series. Fans of a certain age bracket & certain demographics(mostly queer fans) have made up the bulk of the fandom for a long time.) |

| Ramna is absolutely iconic, no question asked. As iconic as every title you listed? Depends of the country, really. Regardless, there's no denying that it's one of the big classic series from the 90s overall. |

| On a worldwide level all of the titles mentioned are more famous than Ranma, though locally in some specific countries it may be above one or some of them. It is certainly iconic when it comes to be one of the pioneers of the harem genre, that's for granted. |
