| The Ashinoko race has begun in conditions where 4x4 reign. Kanata's got fans who recognise him. The Lambo driver was careless and slid and the Honda driver will aim for the to take on the Ferrari next. On the downhill in the rain, Kanata's 86 takes the AMG GT R from the outside, Kanata was aggressive on the first chance. | This episode flew by! Loved how we got a Ren and Kanata date and her teaching him slang was cut, but things really picked up with the Ashinoko started. Tricky track and weather conditions? No problem for Kanata lol. If anything he welcomes the rain and added difficulty. Can’t wait to see what they cook up next week. |

| I think someone good at drifting doesn't really care about the rain. The other racer doesn't look like they doing much drifting so way to go for Kanata. It does look like the 17 guy love the rain as well. |

| The weather gods have decided that they want some fun in this race as well! Visually speaking, the race looked really nice with how the rain was dropping and spraying everywhere. It was nice to see some of the drivers who either liked the slippery conditions or simply hated it due to the lack of grip. In typical fashion, they save the best moment in the last minute as Kanata's Toyota 86 pounces on the Mercedes AMG GT-R on the outside corner. Considering they have 3 laps in this circuit, I can expect plenty more daring overtakes and maybe someone having a skill issue and spinning out. Anything can happen when racing in the wet. =P |

| Sweet date for the two, love how we get more of them in between of the races and keep giving me more. Race started again and I knew they'd end the episode with a cliffhanger but this time I was looking forward to it. Kanata does it again! How I keep myself from reading the manga is beyond me. |

| the beat drop in the ED is perfect for a dance sequence. i was automatically visualizing a solo dance of Ren. would be a treat to watch something like that. |

| The rainy race in Ashinoko proved to be a particular challenge to most racers, but not the super rookie Kanata Katagiri! They spent a good portion of the episode showing how the various racers deal with the rainy conditions before teasing us with that outside overtake from Kanata. Oh boy, the race truly has only just begun! Did anyone bothered to change to a rainy tyres or is that not allowed? smh |

| With Michael earning his pole position, the Lake Ashinoko GT race prelims are done, and Koki isn't as surprised to see the standings as it is. That said, Ren did enjoy her date with Kanata, in the calm before the storm of the 2nd MFG race. With rain proposing challenges to the race, that is one of the key pillars of Project D with Takumi's stint, and expectations are hoping that Kanata will be more of the same, if not similar, going into the second race, which will prove to be a very heated rain-soaked battle. As always, Kanata's Toyota 86 is always the focus on question, as Odawara's city council member ahd head priest Ikeda Ryuji would come as commentary to see Takumi's protégé round up another race once again. For a car that is almost disadvantageous in every way, will Kanata's Toyota 86 climb the positions faster in wet conditions? |

| Racing in the rain? Feels nostalgic. It reminds me of weather conditions during one awesome episode of Initial D. :P I hope to hear more Eurobeat in the next episode. The ending sequence looked nice and had a cool track playing in the background, but it was too short to say "that Eurobeat track really kicked in!" afterwards. |
