| He has written other series besides Hyouka, as well as short stories and complete works in one book. He does not appear to be obsessed with producing works on a regular basis, as there are no books in his Hyouka series that are regularly released. Also, many of his award-winning works of mystery fiction and general fiction in Japan are complete in a single book. I think the type of his works that can be completed in a single book, rather than a series of books, is more likely to be read by a variety of people, not just those who like light novels. |

| He doesn't release a new volume since 2016. It's his pacing I guess. Same with the Haruhi author. That's also the main reason why there wasn't a second season even though the series is one of KyoAni's most famous projects. |

| Maybe because the source from the novel to be turned into a one cour tv adaptation is still not enough. I've read all Yonezawa's Hyouka series, and the only part that hasn't been adapt to anime is only volume 5 and volume 6. Volume 5 is like a full story, from first chapter till the last chapter and Volume 6 is a collection of six short stories. Volume 6 was release like 8 years ago and if i'm remember correctly he was tweeting that he will start writing for Volume 7 like three years ago, but still no news after that. So I think for season 2 is still far away... |
