There won't be any new episodes next week. But I think it could be another important first step in the anime industry because Monogatati is released in streaming format, not TV, so the team has time to edit the visuals to make it look even more spectacular and can add additional episodes. Come explain the story in more detail as well.

@SAKUSAKU07 i doubt this is a production problem/issue... this was probably a scheduled 'break' to stretch this 'season' of Monogatari out to make it fit more easily with the 12-weekly-episode schedule common for anime in Japan.

also, this isn't the FIRST time Mono has STREAMED first instead of being presented on TV first. 'ZOKU Owarimonogatari' streamed, then did a TV run, next a theatrical release, and finally had its disk release. NISIOISIN had ANOTHER one of his book series streamed FIRST 'Katanagatari'. that was many MANY years before ZOKU aired. that one had Twelve 49-minute-long episodes released one per month back in 2010. each episode coincided with the publication of the novel volume being adapted by that month's anime episode.

also, if you didn't already know, the Chinese donghua (animation) industry STREAMS 90% of its content exclusively. almost no animation makes it onto TV screens in China. shrug, that's just how their audiences like it.

additionally, more than 80% of anime studios in Japan are on a 2-3 YEAR schedule for producing content. they're not making or polishing or finishing or adding little extras to the audio and video masters weekly. most studios have completed a project WELL in advance of the first episode's airdate and are already hard at work on the NEXT project on their schedule. when issues/problems/errors/delays happen... that is usually for 1 of 2 reasons. 1 somebody was stupid and accepted a rush job that had to be completed FAST. OR 2... something CATASTROPHIC happened and that causes the whole process to crash and burn or come to a screeching halt.

Unfortunate, but I can't complain. We are blessed with Louvre-level drawings each week.

I think it was wise move to delay Madoka Magia Movie to next year. Animators can finally have some peace.
