| Never mess with a kind man, because the kindest man snaps the hardest. All that built-up stress, embarrassment, anguish, anger and madness reached a boiling point, Arnheid just so happens to be the unlucky gal who is the subject of Ketil's fury. Honestly, she had it coming for her. In fact, I daresay she deserves it, even if it sounds cold and heartless. Though she may respect Ketil as her master, a part of her did want to escape with Gardar, forsaking all the good Ketil has done for her even as a slave. Never be ungrateful kids, especially not to someone who fully depends on you for emotional support. Because once someone snaps, they're coming to beat your sorry ass. |

| Ketil beating Arnheid within an inch of her life was so painful to watch. He showed his true colours. There's no such thing as a kind or good slave owner. That's an oxymoron. This should absolutely go without saying, but slavery is inherently immoral. If you feel as though you "own" someone and can do as you please with them because you paid money them, you don't respect their individual autonomy or view them as a full person. |

| Ketil preparing for an impossible defense of his farm against the goddamn king should've been a badass moment but after what went down in the shed, I just feel plain uncomfortable. Even got robbed of the emotional second reunion between Leif and Thorfinn I was hoping for. |

| Goddamn Ketil is going through it all. His property and life is under attack and his 'woman' tries to run away and is pregnant with someone's kid that he can't afford to believe is his. Hitting women aside, I don't think his punishment was too over the top for a slave that betrayed him. That said, the whole concept of her slavery is another level of humanity. Good level 2 antagonist all around. Canute and Floki are inbound and Thorfinn and Einar are gonna be caught up in this storm if they don't choose to leave Arnheid's side. She sure to die if the Jomsvikings make their landing anywhere near her. Crazy plot developments. |
