| The 240-year-old man has a 24-year-old wife? Tf was that? Mina trying to kiss Takuma was funny lol. Super Mina-chan strikes back! I'm glad that she's back so soon lol. And she brought gifts. One thing I still don't get is do they not have the function to change their names? Or does it have to be Mina? Wouldn't that mean there are hundreds if not thousands of robots called Mina out there that also look the same? The "surprise" by Mina was something else lol. I thought it was a nightmare but it's something that actually happened damn. Super Mina brought a gift that can allow Takuma to upgrade his Mina robot. But I don't understand why he's so hesitant. Like I understand his uneasiness because it's expensive and taking a gift so expensive makes him uncomfortable. But why doesn't he want to upgrade Mina? At that point, it's not even his own choice anymore. Mina herself wants it. Maybe the guy prefers to be vanilla. I wonder if Mina chose an upgrade that changes her lips and makes her more expressive like in the OP and ED. Or maybe she chose that strange chicken robot thing also in the OP and ED. I hope it's the former cause as interesting as having an expressionless robot is it'd be a cool change for her to have proper expressions from now. |

Change can be scary and intimidating, for yourself or when it's happening to those around you who you are closest to. Like, I'm sure a lot of those on either side of a relationship among fully human couples would too have some fears or misgivings, anxiety, etc. if the other made a potentially radical change to their appearance (let's say dyed their hair a completely different, opposite color, or got a bunch of facial piercings). |
| Yeah not sure if Super Hina visting them was a good idea as Takuma said that upgrading Mina is very expensive and he'd have to think about if he really wants to spend the money. However, I think Mina knows that he would like her more if she had upgrades done such as sensitivity around her face and she wants to do whatever makes him happy or happier so this is somewhat complicated. On a separate note I was surprised to hear that Mina will be away for 2 weeks for maintenance reasons so hopefully no accidents happen like wiping her memory otherwise I can see that being devastating to Takuma. |

I don't know if I'm hallucinating, but I just could have sworn I checked the sub-forum earlier closer to when the episode first dropped online and there was already a thread topic for it with a bunch of replies. But I may have mixed it up with another episode five thread on another anime series' sub-forum with which I was quickly toggling between this and that, or deja vu from the episode five thread posted here prematurely in error a few days ago by another user. |

| Trying this again. Punipuni shitai. In terms of cringe, this episode is up there with the first episode. The attempts at kissing between Takuma and Mina were hilarious. Of course, if you want that functionality, you'll have to upgrade to a Super Mina. Speaking of upgrades, the Super Mina from the beach is back, and of course she's here to sell Takuma more Mina products. Don't mind your budget, Robowaifu is all you need! You can expect this sort of behavior out of these robots once they become reality. I do have to feel for the kid, though. He has no friends except for cats and his robot, and who knows what kinds of things Super Mina is learning from Takuma through Mina. |

| Arguably the cutest episode so far? Mina has come so far in such a short period of time. The kiss was so sweet. She’s learning what it means to be a human and a wife one step at a time. While a kiss on the lips may not mean much to Mina because of her touch receptors not being there, handholding is as lewd as can be for her 😂 loved seeing her hand shoot up in the air because of how sensitive it is. Now Takuma knows exactly to get her flustered. Upgrading to super Mina seems tempting and I understand why, but I’m glad Takuma realised that if you’re going to make Mina your wife and teach her how to be human, you need to give her her autonomy. Let her make her own choices. I think she’s fine as is personally, but whatever she goes with should be respected. She’s learnt to get really cheeky with him too which is so funny. Snarky comments like “do I have no rights because I’m not a real wife” or rushing Takuma to kiss her at the start of the ep.. she’s began to assert her wants and desires which is great Cute end to the episode, she just has to learn to hug without almost crippling Takuma next lol. |

| The first half about kissing was very sweet, but also painful for Takuma lol, I for one would love a headbutt kiss. And this led to Takuma and Mina’s “first kiss” when Takuma demonstrated the proper force to use, and unfortunately it didn’t do much for Mina since she has no sensors in her face, but her reaction was much different when Takuma attempted to kiss her hand lol, I wish we could have gotten that reaction elaborated but Super Mina from the beach episode cut us off. And Super Mina had quite the gift to go with her visit, being a catalogue for the Mina Series complete with upgrades for the Mina we know and love, and although Takuma did not want to accept the gift, Mina made it work by splitting the book in half lol, kinda reminds me of Johnny 5 breaking the gun in short circuit and saying “Play Doh”. And I’m ngl, I’m kinda with Takuma in being uncertain on upgrading Mina, I love the way she is already, I feel making her as expressive as Super Mina would take away from her charm, but I am also interested in seeing what she would be like with that kind of upgrade, or whatever upgrade she ended up picking, guess we shall find out next time. Also laughed pretty hard when I saw the next episode title “My Wife Left Me (For Two Weeks) lmao, that got me. |
| yet another episode that has me scratching my head at how low this anime is rated. I look forward to it every week and I am never disappointed. More really sweet moments and also a little bit of mischief from Mina saying she has rights to half of the book. I didn't like the flashback to her dismantling herself though lol that is more like "serious system fault" than "robot doesn't understand social dynamic" Really love the subtle moments too like Takuma helping Mina cook and wash up, and Rihito coming to meet Super Mina because he probably missed her. Super Mina was a lot more likeable this week, still OTT compared to Mina but a better balance this time. I really hope Mina doesn't end up being compromised while getting her upgrades, I fear her getting formatted or something :( :( |

Just as people are afraid of going to the hospital, having an operation - or in this case, cosmetic surgery - Takuma is also concerned that the person who comes back is no longer "his" Mina-Chan. Imagine your partner would appear in front of you with a different kind of face. And as some have already pointed out here, there are always risks involved with repairs. (I remember my shower, which now whistles even louder after the repairmen's visit). So I can understand Takuma's concerns in this episode. I probably wouldn't have thought otherwise. It's nice that Mina expresses her emotions again, like when she kisses someone's hand. | Who refuses a gift, especially when someone insists you accept it? Why is the protagonist like this? Being humble isn't the same as being stupid. I have a feeling that Takuma likes robots that are really metallic, which is why he doesn't want to accept Mina's decision. |

| @kitoha I am also a massive fan of robot stories, I see we love some of the same like Vivy and Plastic Memories. I would also recommend you Planetarian: The Reverie of a Little Planet if you have not seen it, another very touching robot story. |

| Since no one has mentioned this thoroughly, I might as well do it to play devil's advocate... It seems Takuma wants to keep mina the way she is because it's much easier for him to control her. If mina becomes more advanced and up to date, then she might eventually come to realize that she's working for an inferior master and start questioning his decisions or even articulate her disagreements with him. In other words, she'll be less submissive and more assertive. |

| Another great episode, it was cool to see Super Mina again, I didn't expect that. She and Mina have been continuing to communicate behind Takuma's back, I love how he's annoyed Super Mina has had more conversations with Mina than himself! 😂 Also, it was hilarious when Takuma kissed Mina's hand and she basically spazzed out and then denied anything had happened. 🤣 I'm conflicted about whether I want Mina to upgrade herself. There's definitely an argument to be made that she's only doing it to please him rather than for her own benefit (like a wife being pressured into getting breast "enhancements"), but equally if it improves her quality of life, like getting cataracts removed, I think it is something worth doing. Who'd think a fun show about a guy and his robot wife would be asking such deep questions? That said, I doubt Mina will get the squishy upgrade, it seems too soon in the series for her nature and appearance to change so drastically. So I think it will be some sort of fake out and she'll just come back looking the same but being able to clean or maybe a longer life battery. Maybe that bird robot we keep seeing in the OP and ED will be part of the upgrade? |

| The human husband and his robot wife finally share their first kiss. Kinda bummed that we didn't even get to see Takuma actually kissing MNina on the lips. Holy shit, full-body silicon and high-performance sensors deluxe UPGRADE for the Mina model cost 70 points when a whole NEW Super Mina model cost 100 points. Insane. Never mind how expensive it is, having a rich boy be willing to get anything they want is a fortunate thing. I find Takuma's persistence to reject their goodwill not only pathetic but also downright rude. How many more excuses must you spout for free items of any expense with no conditions attached like hello? Is your brain training? Luckily saner heads prevail and so Mina ordered herself a rob-ussy, finally their harrowing mechanical clanging will be replaced by the sound of squelching. |
